James come on ..next time u gotta eat those "thosa" (dosa/ dosey) from your hand one bite at a time with a moderate mix of the curry given with it. (same logic applies to SL rice / kottu / hoppers) Remember to mix your side dishes, curries with the main ingredient enjoy boy!!
Thanks for the tip - it was already drowned in sauce though. Eating a soggy pancake (soup at that point) with my hands would be very unusual in my culture, but I accept that things may be done differently in SL. That’s what makes travel interesting, and why I love hearing from you guys here. Thanks again my friend!
@@InvestedAdventure u did those hoppers well though haha... i get your point too. But we don't eat with hands in Italy so same way around in here... Please do visit back SL & maybe u can try a luxury hotel buffet where u feel most comfortable & utensils are welcome.
It was my intention to visit, but for some last minute logistics timing my flight out to my next destination… I hear it is beautiful, though also very commercial and therefore a little difficult for me to find inspiration in my typical ‘solo adventure’, which I felt I had deviated from a little with the videos in SL
Sri Lanka is great, but the local rickshaw drivers are the exception to that. Also, countries like Pakistan are meant to have incredible hospitality too. And here in the Philippines, I’ve encountered honesty and friendliness unlike anywhere else. The world is amazing
13:58 Supposed to be 28 Lord Buddha Statues not only 7 as we believe These 28 Buddhas are: Taṇhaṅkara Buddha, Medhaṅkara Buddha, Saraṇkara Buddha, Dīpankara Buddha, Koṇdañña Buddha, Maṅgala Buddha, Sumana Buddha, Revata Buddha, Sobhita Buddha, Anomadassi Buddha, Paduma Buddha, Nārada Buddha, Padumuttara Buddha, Sumedha Buddha, Sujāta Buddha, Piyadassi Buddha, Atthadassi Buddha, Dhammadassī Buddha, Siddhattha Buddha, Tissa Buddha, Phussa Buddha, Vipassī Buddha, Sikhī Buddha, Vessabhū Buddha, Kakusandha Buddha, Koṇāgamana Buddha, Kassapa Buddha, ending with Gautama. The Bodhi Tree is where according to Buddhist tradition, the specific sacred fig (Ficus religiosa) under which the last Gautama Buddha sat when he attained Enlightenment .
This is amazing! Thank you so much for that, I had been wondering what the significance was for some time now on my travels. I really appreciate it. Have you visited this temple in Kandy?
Perhaps I should do a video on this, but I found it to be a great place to both relax and explore, without many of the hassles of neighbouring India. However, whilst Sri Lanka has a unique culture and environment, I still feel the likes of Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia take some beating in SEA
egg those bahaha..i think they meant egg dose or dosa hehe...had some in east london, east ham..got some gud ethnic cuisine in that neck of the woods of london
Oh really? I would never have guessed that we already had them in the UK. It definitely said “Those” on the sign, which was so strange! Dosa would make much more sense

You havent explored enough , would you return soon ?
There’s a lot more of the world to explore, but I’d like to return to Sri Lanka for sure
James mate, how come you flying out without visiting Ella, Sri Lanka? as a fact, Kandy to Ella is the most scenic train ride out of all.

What is your opinion on Sri Lanka? How is it comparable to other Asian or tropical countries/places you have been to? Is it a good choice?
