I saw the ROTJ when it came out, was like 4 years old and fell in love with it on Vhs, also grew up on ET, the goonies, the explorers, and I am loving this show.
I agree. I thought I was too jaded to ever be won back, but partly because my kids wanted to see it my wife seemed hopeful, I gave in. Haven't regretted it yet!

After 3 episodes of the Mandalorian, I bought the Baby Grogu looking into a reflection of Yoda shirt, my first Star Wars shirt ever purchased. After episode 3 of the Skeleton Crew, I made my second purchase with the 4 kids. Like Mandalorian, I’m figuring based on recent interviews with Watts and Ford where they talked about having an idea for season 2 and keeping the story reflective of the kids actual ages, they can do 3 seasons before the kids are adults themselves. Anyway, I’m here for every episode they do produce!
My Dad died suddenly last week who introduced me to Star Wars 1987 Christmas and I've been obsessed with SW ever since. Unfortunately he didn't get to see the first 2 episodes of Skeleton Crew, but after watching 1-3 I just know he would approve of it as much as I do - it's charming, fun and a total joy to behold. After watching Goonies again a few days ago (for the countless time) this has the Goonies vibes, even a few E.T notes and Stranger Things. This has been a delightful surprise after having a few fears after Acolyte etc, and I am enjoying it immensely. Jude, the kids and Nick Frost are killing it.
something tells me that ship is haunted. If you go back to when Crimson Jack pulls the dagger out of that skeleton, if you listen closely, there is a ghostly sound that is made as the skeleton collapses. And who was the captain of that ship? This show is absolutely glorious!
Skeleton Crew being this good is further evidence that the main problem with Disney Star Wars/Kathleen Kennedy's primary failure is quality control. They're obviously capable of creating a quality project (Rogue One, Mando seasons 1&2, Rogue One, Rebels, Bad Batch, and now Skeleton Crew), but KK doesn't hold every creator to the same standard. It's not that they can't make good products, it's that KK doesn't insist upon it.

John I just noticed Jude Law character clothes are the same color as Lando when he was on empire and cloud city the light blue shirt in the dark color pants. It was a V-neck.
There was criticism on Kim?! Why?! She was great! What-FN- Ever, shocker. Anyway, I thought another good episode. The show is, fun, charming, delightful & joyful, so far. That's coming from someone who had 0 interest & was 99% sure, I was gonna skip it. During the last action scene, I was like... Hmmm....? I think this has been the most fun, I'm having, watching a Star Wars project since the original trilogy?! I won't speak so soon, but I think so. I mean I haven't watched every Star Wars project, granted, but out of the ones I have. I don't think I've had this much of a good time, watching something Star Wars. I'm adoring it. Again! I can't believe I'm saying that, a few weeks ago I was like... Naaaah I'm good, I don't think this show is gonna be for me. Here I am thinking it's a Precious show 🤷🏼♂️
I don't understand the hate for Book Of Boba Fett. I love the Tusken Raider story line. His recovery and his desire to get a little respect and fill in the void left by Jabba was a good path for him. I also thought Acolyte was interesting but not executed well, but with time to adjust and grow it could have been great with more seasons
I'm loving it. Sadly I heard that the show hasn't even cracked the top 20 in ratings. I believe it's the lowest rated of the Star Wars shows. Hopefully, the word will spread and people will give it a shot.
I am really enjoying The Skeleton Crew for one reason….its fun. I like Andor, but it’s not fun. This is fun. The only thing that will suck is the insistence on linking it to the sequels. They are trying way too hard to make the decisions made in those films make sense and I for one could not care less.
The big thing has Star Wars got too self-serious under the weight of lore and yes politics (I know I know) and bad content. "Miss the war did ya?" just hand wave ALL of it with a line drop, it works both in show and a meta line. These kids can just be kids and the show can just allow some fun to happen again.
my biggest revelation is that blowing up planets could be something that happened in their history, that maybe why tarkin didn't hesitate to do because it wasn't unprecedented. also kenobi wasn't shocked that the empire would do this. han solo only scoffed at how many ships it would take to do it.
I'll be it will get even better we will see the new Republic fighting the imperial remnants and I really hope we can see Jude Law's lightsaber in five episodes.
A lot of people like Ashoka, a lot of people like Kenobi, and a lot of people like Acolyte. Star Wars of Disney+ isn't as divisive as some people try to make it out to be.
IMO, Jude Law joins Stellan Skarsgård as one of the few bright spots in Disney Star Wars. I don't know if this show will stick the landing, but at least it's not actively making me cringe yet.
Why are people calling this a kids show its not a kids show... its a show with and about kids. Like stranger thongs isnt a kids show but a show about kids. If its a kids show it would be a bit cartoony...
all i can say about Skeleton Crew is.. the Episodes are too short. I wait a whole week for it to come, and its roughly just a half hour, that alone deflates me more than it excites me
@@kropianimation1774 Yep, and Tony Gilroy has also said how she wanted to take a huge risk with greenlighting Andor. I definitely agree that not all her efforts have been successful, but people need to start giving her credit for her wins, not just the losses.

People went bonkers about the explosion in Space in The Acolyte but nothing about the explosion in Space in this shows. And how are they able to breathe on that owl moon without masks or something like that and so on and so on.
There has been explosions in space in SW since the OT, those people that moaned about it during Acolyte were simple just trying to find any possible reason to hate on it. Star Wars has and always will be primarily for kids, if you can’t suspend ‘realism’ while watching it then you’ll never enjoy it.
My problem with The Acolyte was never about "realism" or any of the other stupid complaints because that's antithetical to what Star Wars is. My big issue was that it had bad pacing, bad performances from some of the actors (which could be a director issue), and above all poor writing. All of which I think Skeleton Crew does well.

I liked some of the shots of the planet behind them when they're on the moon, and I like Jude Law's portrayal of his character. But the only reason I'm gonna watch another episode is the Daniels. Goonies meets Pirates of the Caribbean in space just feels like a lazy way to write a Star Wars show. Why do Star Wars space pirates have to talk like Pirates of the Caribbean now? I do not like the droid. ARR MATEY! Right now I'd rank it lower than the Acolyte (still better than Boba Fett though).

Actually, it's VERY Star Wars if you grew up in the 80s (ewok movies, Droids cartoon, Star Tours etc.). But you probably have a very narrow view as to what Star Wars should be, and that's fine.

I don't hate this show, but OMG where is the writing! Star wars has never before created a more generic and bland cast of characters. The "Elephant" kid. So nice, even his mother is hardcoded tea serving nicely while her child has been kidnapped by a star ship! The "La forge" kid. So bland it's depressing. The "believer" kid. Too stupid to be believable. The "boss bitch" Also, too genetic to be interesting. The "robot" Please wake me up when it makes a point for existing. The "bad boy" aka "G'day mate, there is nothing that will bring me back to life faster that a big bag of [Disney] cash" We're 3 episodes in and none of them have done a single interesting thing!

I absolute love that show! My current theory is, that Jack was a youngling about the same age as the kids, when Order 66 happened.

What made me looking forward for skeleton crew was actually another tv show which John Watts is in command, The Old Man with Jeff Bridges.

Another win for Favreau/Filoni Star Wars. When is Iger going to realize KK is what's holding this franchise back.
The creators of this show have multiple times said that KK was a huge help in getting that Amblin/Spielberg tone right and was incredibly supportive.

star wars no longer feels special
Episode 3 didn't do it for me. Editing was very choppy, I liked Ep 1-2. Chemistry of Jude and the kids is still not there just yet. My opinion.
