- Hiya,
A member of my discord, Kroc, had an idea for a half submerged castle. Resting in the tundra on a peninsula. After a long break, I was finally able to make it a reailty.
I reimagined a Tundra biome in this one. Adding more trees, weird rock formations, and even some gravel beaches to make it a truly unique map. Plus of course, a ruined castle, a shipwreck, and lots of driftwood.

Maybe at the end of the video you could let the zoomed out map stay in the screen for something like 5 seconds, so that we could take a look at the finalized project.
That’s a great idea, I’ll start doing that. These are sped up (obv) so I’ll make sure to have it zoomed out for a minute when I’m done.
Yeah zoomed out map by itself for a few seconds and maybe a side by side before/after for a few as well. Would be great.
@@garrugmahlag I'll try and have a short bit before and after of the world. Note that the maps are not 100% vanilla start, I do use map designer to get them a bit better.
Looks amazing! If there was a mod to make and share custom maps with people I would def play your map.

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it. Highly recommend making maps, it's been over a year since I did my first. Remember to take it slow, learn the dev tools crucial to it, and have fun.
Also map designer & map preview are amazing, Vanilla Expanded Framework has a better Make Rock command.

Question, what mod were you using to draw like that?
Well, dev tools has the Set Terrain feature which lets you choose two points and it will make a rectangle of the selected terrain.
I just got an auto clicker, sped it up a bunch and then use my drawing tablet to more smoothly draw it out.
But you can just use the dev tool. You don’t need anything fancy.

What an awesome map! When I play the save file it asks me to add faction but it always says "Faled to add faction with settlements." Also when I go to world view , the view is sort of messed up it doesnt show any settlements
That’s an interesting one. It’s asking you to add factions cause they weren’t loaded when I created the world.
But it doesn’t want to add their settlements. It could be they are a hidden faction so no settlements. But it’s probably an issue.
I don’t know much so my best recommendation is the mod Save Maps (cont.) you can copy and paste the terrain I made into a new map basically. So you can start up a new save, new start and then just load in the terrain.

Of course, that should work 100%. If not, it may be an issue with mods.
how do we play your maps?
Very easily! You just take the file, the .rws file (linked in the description), and drop it into your saves folder.
While in game, hit load game and you should see the save there.
