This would be a great basic Vader costume, if it was not so prohibitively expensive at normal price. For that, it is not great. But if you get it at a good discount...then I would get it (given the size is right, too).
I gotta say I think the Rubie’s helmet looks superior to the black series. The head shell piece is too small on the black series one to match the proportions of this costume. But I’m admittedly biased towards Vader’s ROTS helmet design with the bigger lenses and head piece. Either way really nice costume!
Im exactly 6ft , 42inch chest and 36inch waist and about 196lbs i was going to order the xl but now wondering if the Standard would be better ? I will eventually change the bodysuit but just want it for this halloween
@@BuzzardGaming83 For me? Yes. But I tried to change it and the supplier wouldn’t help me. I tried to order a 2nd suit in the standard size, and the supplier cancelled it. So I got zero help.
As someone who has been part of the Vader costume community for many years I will honestly tell you the truth. This costume is the red headed step child of the family. It's not of very good quality. The original film costumes are made of higher quality materials such as the helmet and armor made of fiberglass, the capes are pure wool and are double the weight of the rubies capes, the belt boxes are aluminum and the body suit is supposed to be leather. There is a huge difference between the look of the Rubies suit and real leather. Rubies suit does not make very convincing leather at all. Fake leather will chip and flake over time.
I appreciate that, thanks. To be honest, I don’t do cosplay or anything, but I do like to have the best I can get. I would love to get the full suit as you describe, it would definitely be amazing. I just don’t have the means at the moment, so this is my compromise. It worked amazingly for what I wanted, and I am very happy with it, though I have replaced the body suit and used the Hasbro helmet. The one that came with the suit just wasn’t as good.
@@justindavis3142me too! Loosing my mind while trying to do it 😂 I’m trying to find boots that have a lot of room for height lift insoles and also a good costume 💀
I do not have a Vader costume myself, but I have watched several videos. If you want to go for quality, IMO the first thing is to decide which version you want to create. They may all look very similar, but there are little differences to each one. You then can go from there. No idea where to get the corresponding parts. Maybe consider joining the 501st to do a really deep dive.
You think? I think the Rubies looks very much like the Revenge Of The Sith helmet, which it’s meant to. But I really do like the Black Series one more.
@@KabegasReviews if its the one they sell on etsy i know the exact one lol , most everyone is using the zoom multistomp they are kinda pain in the can to program but you can get them sounding pretty good

It’s epic! I have it fully displayed in my living room.
The black series helmet is so much better

I’d definitely go for it! If you’re gonna replace the suit anyway, it’s definitely a keeper. As the emperor would say “do it”!
@KabegasReviews would you say the Standard size would have been a better fit ?

All things aside IIRC the faceplate is actually casted from the original molds, otherwise the suit is garbage lol
Im 5'10" and 180-185 Lbs around-Will the Extra large or standard fit better?
Definitely standard, though even that may be big. I’m 6’1” and about 190lbs, the large was too big on me
Though I will say, you could always get a tailored body suit. That’s what I did in the end.
Thanks for the Feedback!
Where did you buy It?
Amazon
There is a link in the description
Ruby’s helmet looks better than black series.

do you think it's ok for a 5.9" tall person? (me)
Honestly, no. Not as it comes. If you want a Vader suit, get a custom one tailored to your size. That way it will definitely fit.
If you don't mind, how much was it?
The base suit is £981 from Amazon
why didnt ya put the helmet on so we could see how it looks?
Because I prefer the Black Series helmet
Because it's awful lol
Is that new version?
It’s different than old one?
Sorry I’m Japanese I can’t understand English
Yes. It is a new version

@@KabegasReviews Wow
What is difference between old one?
古いものは、フォームビットが取り付けられた柔らかいボディスーツでした.
このスーツは、多くの異なるピースがあり、はるかに複雑に作られています.

I actually got a voice changer but sadly it’s more Kylo Ren than Darth Vader. Works great though.
