Great video to learn how to invite friends for an activity. I find this small part of the video starting from 2:41 useful to express one's likes and dislikes.
In the dialogue, in 0:37, the characters are “不喜欢人潮”, but the pinyin are ‘不喜欢人群潮”. The same mistake in 2:09. In 2:18, “潮” is pronounced by Jenny as “cao”, which should be “chao”. Also “这”, she pronounced as “ze” which should be “zhe”. Similar mistake also occur in 6:18. Also 7:25; also in 7:30; In 2:26, “拥挤” Jenny pronounced as “yoong 2 ji3”, which should be “yoong 1 ji3”. In 4:13, the pinyin for “真” should be “zhen” instead of “zen” which is pronounced by Jenny. In 5:25, Jenny pronounced “虫子” (chong zi) as “cong zi”. In 5:36-37, Jenny pronounced “女生” (nv sheng) as “nv seng”. In 6:39,they put “this type” as the meaning for “就”. I have no idea how they connect these two, because the meaning for “就” is not “this type”. According to your explanation, the meaning for “就” in the video should be “then”. In 7:25, the pinyin for “说” should be “shuo”, but Jenny pronounced as “suo”. Also in 7:46; In 7:41, the pinyin for “什” should be “shen” iinstead of “sen” which is pronounced by Jenny. In 7:58, the pinyin for “派出所” is “pai chu suo”, but Jenny pronounced as “pai cu suo”.
What useless pedantry. Dear puritan, will you permit the rest of us to learn from someone who doesn't have a Beijing accent? Of all the languages, Chinese has such diversity. It is silly to claim any accent or dialect as standard, just because the Party sanctions it. Stop being a drone and try appreciating how organic languages change across space and time.
great lesson. " ren chao" means so many people. so " chao " means many, does it can be used for other things and place, for example, if too many cars, can I say " che chao"?
The new staff is the best ChinesePod staff ever! Unfortunately they devalue the earlier lessons, because in comparison earlier lessons are just not good enough.
Hi, We are glad you are enjoying the videos and the new hosts. We value the past videos the same as you guys. Check out the website for more videos and content.
At 2:11 Jenny says ‘renchao ‘ and not ‘renqun chao ‘ For a beginner that is puzzling and confusing. Did she make a mistake? Why not say what we see? Maybe it’s a shortcut? We don’t know. Know what I mean?
I find it a little distracting that you introduce so many new phrases, it makes the lesson rather chaotic, for example the sentence around 11:45. specially because not every phrase is properly transcripted and you often talk over each other. Maybe keep it more linear and simple.
Hi MrNamhanman, thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. We're sorry you didn't fully enjoy this lesson. Our hosts have slightly different styles so perhaps you would prefer a lesson by some of our other hosts. In terms of the amount of new vocabulary, as you go up levels the number of new words increases. If you think this video has too many new phrases, you could try a pre-intermediate lesson instead.
good content. However, Jenny has a Taiwanese accent which is not very standard mandarin. For example, she pronounces 这 as ze4,真 as zen1 etc. Plus, at 2’13”, pinyin of 人潮 should be ren2chao2. At 2’28”, pinyin of 拥挤 should be yong1ji3.
Thanks ladies, I find your clear language and explanations very helpful.
Really liking long Chinese language
Super the best I like Chinese understand like 30% Only thank you

非常感谢您们
Nice one!!
Is "huan" supposed to use the first tone? (2:11)
Hi Jun,
If you look at the dictionary, it's 1st tone. But when it comes to 喜欢, it becomes 5th tone.
There is a mistake with the text and the actual dialogue at 2:11
great lesson. " ren chao" means so many people. so " chao " means many, does it can be used for other things and place, for example, if too many cars, can I say " che chao"?
Hello, I didn't know V+ 极了 = very much ... Is it more than 非常 ? Is it only with the verb xihuan or with all? Thank you very much !
為什麼新中文柏克沒有繁體漢字?
Grace 有二头肌 好棒 5:30
At 2:11 Jenny says ‘renchao ‘ and but pinyin shows‘renqun chao ‘ it is very confusing.
Hey CCC, there is an editor's note in the caption about this, qun is not meant to be there. Thanks!

My only complaint is that the new backgrounds are too dark.
Excellent lesson 加油
Hi,
We are glad you enjoyed the lesson! Have you checked the site, we have many lessons and other content.
There is another word "酷爱": very much love to do something
"这样" also means in this way/method
Thanks Ying! 酷爱 is pronounced kù'ài.

Sinfuldavy 人潮 means lots of people . wave/sea of people.
Very practical Lesson! But I think it should be "yōngji" instead of "yǒngji" in at 2:28.
it seems to me, the hosts are competing in their talks and they are not working together.
If 谓 means "to call" or "to name", then perhaps 我无所谓 is similar to the English expression "You name it."
您为什么喜欢吃马卡龙?
哈哈😄
人潮的意思是很多人,人群的意思是? 为什么没说话这个词?
Fei Chang Hao !!!!
I don’t like “太多人了” too, I am a “吃货”, 也爱吃 “马卡龙”,
Macaroons aren't macaroni :)

Hi Grace, thanks for pointing out the extra pinyin in between 人 and 潮. We will add an editor's note about those things.
Taiwan has enough missiles pointed at it. Are these accent critics native speakers? If so, you don't need this video. If not, let the teachers teach.
吓死我了
Rebecca from ChinesePod Team 我被12:50和13:00吓了!😱
