@Slime Sanctuary it's been kind of a running joke lately about how unusual..... like just straight up WEIRD some of the moves they have people doing in crossfit.
3rd attempt?! Dude that’s not struggling!! As a competitive gymnast, I worked consistently for months, probably almost a year, before getting my kip. Hats off to you my guy 👍
I’m a level 10 gymnast teacher and the girl (I don’t know her name), did a great job at teaching! You’re also a really good learner and learned how to lil really fast.
As veteran gymnast I was never taught how to get on the bar they expected me to just watch them do it lmao, thank you for finally showing me how to do it properly!!
This! I used to do gymnastics and was actually told to quit because they simply showed us how they did it and of course it looked super easy then expected us to copy it. I was the youngest and newest in the class everyone else knew what they were doing but no one actually explained how to get UP. I ended up quitting sadly because they kept pushing me to do it without explaining how to move my body and I got too overwhelmed feeling like a failure. Now years later I know it isn't super simple like they made it out to be. Teachers like this are amazing
I am a platinum level competitive gymnast and I would say that the Kip is one of the harder skills to learn it can go for months to years With drills and stuff it can take a really long time and he just learned it in a few minutes. Good job!!!
Luke, I saw your other kip up video and that encouraged me to try a Kip up. I work hard every day and finally I did the perfect kip up the other day. Thank you 💕
In callisthenics we usually drag our feet but Kip to the bar mid way to gain more momentum and make it look “cooler” like floor gymnastics and breakdance moves
Straddling my legs makes it much easier imo too 😂 I’m a gymnast and I originally started because I was a bit too tall when doing the drills for it but then it just made it so much easier
I used to watch you soo much on my other account called Jagalynn, got a new phone and use a different account with a different gmail. I found this and it made my day! Keep up the great work and its great to be back!
I did synchronised swimming and this technique reminded me of barracuda which basically propels your legs out of the water. Most things in synchronised swimming are like gymnastics but upside down.
I always had a bit trouble with these element on the uneven bars (despite the bars being my best apparatus) the core muscles and the ability to keep my arms straight was always challenging to me
Most of the time I can only get a grip of the bar with my arms fully extended. I had to jump and roll backwards on the bar and then quickly support my weight.
You can also do a pull over by jumping and putting your hips on the bottom of the bar then just act like you are going to do a backflip and just spin up the bar until you are upright
When I did gymnastics when I was like 7 or 8 I was in level 8 and was doing tricks with older girls but when I did competitions I had to go back to level 3 since I think that was my age range and I always won’t against my classmates
I had a friend who did gymnastics when we were younger, and she tried to teach me how to do a bar Kip. My foot dragged the ground and caught it just right to the point my hands slipped from the bar and I landed in a full split. It was in that moment I knew I’d screwed up. Needless to say, I’ll never be making that mistake again.
Yo! Follow my INSTAGRAM for an important RUclips announcement soon :)! @lukemizel

make shure your legs arent bent
Make sure you’re not caught doing that in public, don’t want people thinking you do CrossFit

Glad this video helped

Thank you and good job!
Oh wow
yeah because and you can see he's already built
Yeah it took me about 1 year to learn it I could never in 1 day
@@funnytiktokhub14if she’s don’t gymnastics for 2 years she probably has lots of upper body strength snd muscles lol
when he said “BaR kip” i threw my phone across my room
im a competitive gymnast
The fact that no one talks about the bar kip in the muscle-up tutorials.
Wow! Impressive :) it took me sooo long to get my Kip! I’m a level 7 gymnast
Keep it up!

Getting your kip is a major rite of passage in gymnastics.

the jealousy you’ve unlocked in so many gymnasts lol. took me a good 3 months to get my kip on lock. once you’ve got it though, you’ve got it.

Love how he got the kip pretty quick. Took me ages then I lost it
i really need to get this skill since i just moved up to level 4 and it’s the only skill i need and my first meet is in a month so tysm!!!
One more thing that really helped me to get my kip is to shoot your toes up to the ceiling giving you more momentum when you sit up
GREAT job! Keep it up!
I did synchronised swimming and this technique reminded me of barracuda which basically propels your legs out of the water. Most things in synchronised swimming are like gymnastics but upside down.
Congrats on catching in fast it took me a while when I was in gymnastics to get it down
My coaches were doing bar kips during open gym today :)
It took me almost 3 months to learn a Kip 😅
Love your vids! Keep going ✌🏻
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks for teaching me too
I was in gymnastics for 2 years, and I could never achieve a bar lip, but my coach never explained it like that
Fun on the beach 🙂
Bro got it in theee tries while i got it after 3 years 💀
I love how with the clips he skipped the landing 😂
Gymnastics seems so difficult, I am 100% sure that I would break my back immediately.
I always used to do that in kindergarden and school, they always had bars, except the school that i am in now.
Hey, Luke i love watching your videos! ❤️
Glad you like them!
@@lukemizel ❤️💫
This is random but it hurt me as a gymnast hearing him say "a bar kip"😅
I always had a bit trouble with these element on the uneven bars (despite the bars being my best apparatus) the core muscles and the ability to keep my arms straight was always challenging to me
Perfect loop🤩
I’m thinking about doing gymnastics but this was helpful
I'm a gymnast and this is pretty good!
IT'S CALLED AND UPSTART!!😂
no, its called a bar kip. Upstart is way different
I have been working on my ki p for three months and counting
Edit: finally got it!!
Just competed it!!!!
A pull over is a lot easier and quicker to learn I got my Kip today and I have been try for 1year
I’ve been doing gymnastics for a long time and I really struggled to do a pullover and it’s been taking me back so many levels any tips?
it takes gymnasts like years to figure out how to kip and you got it in like a day 😭😭😭😭😭
Most of the time I can only get a grip of the bar with my arms fully extended. I had to jump and roll backwards on the bar and then quickly support my weight.
I wanna be able to do a kip so bad!
Bro I’m a level 3 gymnast and I’ve been working on my Kip for 2 yrs now. The way u can just do that is crazy in like 5 min I’m jealous
i had a good teacher !
I do gymnastics and compete, I too agree it is a very difficult way to mount the bar
Am I the only one who has never taking gymnastics but knew how to do this when I was in third grade??
You can also do a pull over by jumping and putting your hips on the bottom of the bar then just act like you are going to do a backflip and just spin up the bar until you are upright
TIL a straddle upstart is called a kip in the US 👍😊
I need this for tomorrow at gymnastics 🦵💪🦶
I taught myself how to do that in 5th grade when I saw a girl do that at recess. I was too scared to ask her how she did it lmao
this is beautiful
When I was in gymnastics the way never taught me to roll over or reposition my wrists
Good job 👏
Thanks 😅
Wow good job
final destination
bro my old teacher did that and it was insane
I’m a gymnast working on my lip it took me months good job Luke
I was a gymnast for 7 years and the two hardest moves are kip and hand stand on the bars. Flips are far easier!
I have to do this in gym and I have only got it once so I am going to do this
Wow you’d have to be so fit, to learn that so quickly. It takes seasoned gymnast children ages to master that.
It took me a long time to do my kip and now I can do a kip handstand and in level 6
I do gymnastics 🤸♂️ it’s hard and fun 🤩
where is that park it looks so beautiful
I couldnt do a kip for lkke a whole month when i was learning 💀💀💀
Ohh ok thanks now I can do this
i did this everyday in the 5th grade on the biggest bar 💀
No way you got that in 3 tries. I’m a gymnast and I know so many people who it took like 6 months to a year to get their kip. That’s crazy bro
I am gymnast and I live England so it is called an up start and I finally got it
Third try!! That's crazy it took my moths before getting my kip
damnnn, get ittt
him: **learns the trick in a few hours**
me: **has been trying to get this for years and still can’t do it**

Ive never been able to do a college boy roll and i wonder if trying this wil help me!
3rd attempt?!?? I’m a level 6 gymnast and when I was younger my kip held me back so much I had to work on it for 2 years!!
I omg I used to do this in my old school!!
I used to do gymnastics and I learned it in level 3
you could just pullover to get on top of the bar which is way easier imo
I just get up by going all the way around 😂 I’m in high school now, but I used to do that ALL the time in like 3rd grade
NO NOT YOUR DAWGS 😭😭😭😭
When I did gymnastics when I was like 7 or 8 I was in level 8 and was doing tricks with older girls but when I did competitions I had to go back to level 3 since I think that was my age range and I always won’t against my classmates

Dude my coach just left me at the bar and told me to figure it out myself 😔
