  • The former child actress-turned-director has received her second Oscar nomination for “Women Talking,” about sexually-abused women in a cloistered religious community deciding their future. She talks with correspondent Anthony Mason about why she doesn’t regret walking away from stardom in front of the camera.

Women Talking is a masterpiece. All of the films Polley has directed are wonderful. Including the beautiful documentary about her family.

Love Sarah Polley and her work. But this interview was weirdly cut together, not giving her enough time on camera. Would’ve loved to hear more about the film.

Anthony Mason - great interview . . . . On RUclips I see so many RUclips Creators and Podcasters do interviews, and frankly, they suck -- Anthony Mason shows you how a professional journalist does it. Thank You.

I'm so glad Sarah Polley has been moving on up. She was great in Dawn of the Dead.

I had read parts of the book. I knew Frances McDormand would be in the movie. I had read that the movie was nominated for awards this season.
But in an odd way not until seeing this segment, did I put a few pieces together.
When I was younger my cousins and I would participate in a few rather big-budget commercials as one branch of the family owned an advertising agency.
It was fun. We did it on school breaks. But I always wondered how young was too young to be in movies.
I've seen Ao Baron Munchausen a few times many years ago and always wondered what became of the little girl.
How crazy would have film set with director Terry Gilliam and in a small role, Robin Williams, be? I knew Uma Thurman was Botticelli's Venus but what of the little girl??
To hear that it was not a positive experience... To hear that after 12 years in the industry she was sexually assaulted perhaps not related. All the pieces seem to fit together and I definitely will see this movie!
    *Bravo ladies!*

Always appreciated her status in Sci-fi and horror. Let's not forget, her character kickstarted the doomed items list by being in the pilot episode of FRIDAY THE 13TH, THE SERIES.
Can we also congratulate her for playing Elsa alongside Adrian Brody in SPLICE? She definitely needs to direct some Sci-fi films!

@@looney1023 It's loosely based on a true story, but it's actually fictional. I'd be interested in the real story, but this is just a chance for the film to attack all men and paint them all as rapists or potential rapists. Have you seen the movie?

Have you seen this film? This is far from a “man bashing” film. These women were sexually assaulted and still have an extraordinary amount of faith and compassion.
