You should make a jar attachment for a one gallon "pickle" jar too.
READ THIS POST FOR POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:
Hopefully this helps some people. I've been playing with the canning attachment for about a week now (in between throwing it against walls) and this is what I have, for what it's worth.
(1)The attachment is VERY temperamental. It's very easy to put the attachment on wrong. Make sure your lid attachment is level and not cockeyed on the jar. Spin the jar, and make sure the attachment is not angled in one direction or the other.
(2)Do not push the attachment down too much. You can apply it, and feel the give, once it is in place.
(3)Give the attachment a slow turn while it is on the jar lid and you will likely feel a slight click or tightening. I mention this because if you look at the inner portion of the attachment you can see a couple of notches on the inner rim. This has never been mentioned before, but it seems to help. Doesn't hurt to try it.
(4)Place your hand on the attachment when in use and you can feel it suck down on the jar lid. This is a decent indication of whether or not it is sealing. HAVING SAID THAT....I have had jars not seal. IF YOU SUSPECT THE JAR HAS NOT SEALED, DO NOT UNGLUG THE HOSE. SIMPLY HIT THE SUCTION BUTTON AGAIN. This has worked several times for me. I suspect that the amount of air in some jars is not getting sufficiently cleared on the first attempt. Just re-try it without unplugging the hose.
(5)Always wipe your jar rim and reapply the lid and attachment and try again. Very frustrating, but often times if works after a few attempts.
(6)Headspace is not a recommendation. You need to leave an inch or more. Doesn't seem to seal otherwise.
This device is VERY temperamental, in my experience. You're going to have to get used to figuring out what works for you.
Thanks for your tips/experience
Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you!
I was having the same problem until someone recommended stacking 2 of the lids on top of the jar. For some reason that works like a charm. Only the bottom lid stays sealed and it doesn't effect the top lid in any way. I hope this helps. And thanks to the anonymous person on the internet that suggested it. 😁
Thank You!!!
Michelle Clifton you are a foodsaver lifesaver
It didn’t work for me. The lid came off with the sealer when I tried to take it off. What am I doing wrong ?
@@lendouma3224 Did you use 2 of the lids? The top one will come off, but the bottom one should stay on the jar. Also, make sure you are using the right size. There are 2 sizes of jar sealers and jars. Hope this helps.
Michelle Clifton , yes I was using a wide mouth lid with the wide mouth sealer. The lid still came off when you tried to take off the sealer. I think maybe the sealer was too tight around the lid and it still came off with it. I’m at a loss. I stacked two lids like you suggested. Both came off.😩
I only have one other back sealer to compare this to, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxLarn2Zt7095D2lp3tN-bj5JtYPg3Wz2 but it appears to be a great sub-$100, non-chamber, vac sealer (I got it on sale on Amazon a few weeks ago). It's not the fastest, but it's not a race when you're back sealing, right? I haven't done any marinading yet, but for storage of veggies and other perishables and for sous vide, it's great. The built-in bag roll storage and cutter (manual cutter) are great, it's super easy to use, and the double-seal feature is fantastic. Would highly recommended especially if you don't have the budget (or counter space) for a chamber vac.
What is a "back sealer"??? And your link(Url) does not work.
I had problems at 1st, but now I use this multiple times a week (as we veggie juice and batch cook). Both mason jar sealer lid sizes work for us.
Lessons Learned:
- Don't over fill your jar. I max fill to where the threads starts.
- Use clean, undamaged, unwarped mason jar lids. The only way to ensure a smooth seal contact all around the jar
***I remove the Food Saver machine's accessory hose (the male part) from the white jar sealer (with the female part) before removing white jar sealer from the mason jar. Somehow this ensure's there isn't a vacuum in there pulling the mason jar lid from the jar.
I've never had leaks or messes since. And I most often seal liquids.
Thank you
I'm an avid canner and I know how to keep jars clean and get them to seal when canning. Over the years I have had trouble with the jar sealers more often than not - this is my third Food Saver and it has the built in accessory hose. I do NOT use it for canning, just for vacuum sealing failed seals, after which I put the jar in the refrigerator and am sure to use that before I use any of my shelf stable ones. I found that the two lid option works fairly reliably, but I tend to only use the jar sealer when it seems to be the only option for longer term storage.
What do you use for canning?
Does this method work with non acidic food or just water bath method food? Sorry to ask you xx but the video didn't say
Thank you everyone for the double lid suggestion for vacuum sealing jars! It works! I really appreciate being able to use my jar vacuum sealers!
How about listing the units this is available on! The new ones have a different suction device!
How long can you store the food using the FoodSaver Sealer? Thank you for the video!!
Tried it over and over again and it didn't seal then finally realized I wasn't pushing the hose attachment deep enough into the hole in the lid attachment. Once I pushed it down far enough into the lid it finally worked.
I love my FoodSaver system. Worked perfectly right out of the box. I'd watched tons of videos before ordering, but read the instruction manual anyway.
I had my vacuum jar sealer doheckeys for a while I use them to store dry goods in jars I also been able to seal some repurposed jars for my dry goods
I just tried the mason jar attachment on a brand new FoodSaver and it DID NOT WORK. I'm taking the mason jar attachment back to Target and the FoodSaver FM3900 back to Costco. I tried everything from adding an extra lid (even upside down which I saw on a video), holding it down, unplugging the plug attachment before removing the lid attachment. I tried to vacuum seal a wide mouth and regular mouth jar several times. This would be a waste of money if I was not able to return everything. I was hoping it would work, since I wanted a way to quickly remove the air for dry canning "dried fruits/veggies". My suggestion is: if you decide to buy/try this for dry canning, make sure you can return the items. I didn't try the FoodSaver bag system since that is not what I really wanted it for.
I couldn’t get them to seal jars with my non F/S machine and I tried all suggestions. Then I tried my own vacuum sealer machine’s hose attachment instead of the hose attachment that came with the food saver sealers and they worked perfectly…
Foodsavers aren't what they used to be. Sad to see them fall so far
I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't get this to seal jars. I wasted my money on the special attachments.
I had a couple of jars that would not seal. I found that they had a small chip in the rim.
Wow I’m surprised to read these comments. My food saver does vacuum seal jars with no problem and it also does liquids as long as I select that option prior to vacuuming. Sorry to hear so many issues with other people.
I have a FM5400 FoodSaver and would like to know if the accessory hose attached to it can be used for jars? If so, how do I use it?
I finally figured out how to get my FoodSaver to Vacuum Seal! It wasn’t working no matter what I did! Then I sat there and asked the Lord to show me what I hadn’t tried. He pointed out that I hadn’t tried holding the hose attachment to the machine. That did the trick! Every single jar has been sealing!! There must be a gap inside not holding the hose to the vacuum sealer properly. Try it people!
Guys I had issues with it too, but if you look at your food saver device and lift it open, you'll see a gasket right under where the accessory port is. It blends in with the device because its the same color. Remove it and it will work. Just in case anyone has overlooked that.
@@mrsrm3203 mine doesn’t come out
You refer to your husband as lord? That's creepy!
I have the mason jar lid accessory (both ends are gray) and was excited about using it. I then purchased a FoodSaver machine. The machine and the jar accessory did not work. :( So I returned the FoodSaver machine. I will continue to look into this for a solution so I can use my mason jars for food to stay fresh longer.
Ive got the attachment with 2 gray tips and though it is all food saver brand it only fits loosly into the food saver machine. Whats up with this?
same with mine, if I move the other end the green end falls out of the machine, so damn annoying
You would think a company would engineer their products to actually work together! I bought the food saver with accessory port and the can sealer and it does NOT plug in, you would think their engineers would of made a better system for the accessory port/sealer attachment!!!
Where is the link to download the information sheet? Your video says to find it below but I don't see it anywhere. Also, I have the same question as MofOf4Loves, How do I use my FoodSaver system with the hose that came with it? I have the 4400 model which does not have a hose that fits into a port.
Are these compatible with other sealers ?
You need to mention that this doesn't take the place of pressure canning food.
It already has a warning this process is not a substitute for heat canning on the contraption
Also, you can’t cook the food in the jar this way
Can youbuse this for vacuum sealing the twist on sealing lids or do you have to use the sealing discs??
What model is this jar vacuum sealer and where can you buy it? I didn't see it on your website and customer service wasn't any help at all. I'm about ready to return this item fm2000. The demo shows a green going into the port and a gray going into the lid.
G.Green...I have never seen a hose with the gray tip on one end-going into the lid- & the green tip going into the
accessory port...I was near exacerbated with rep not giving me specific info as to what works with
what models & where to get what works. I use mine for storing blender green drinks and/or juicing...I have now ordered hand pump with wide and regular lids with permanent raised thing in center of each lid that pump goes over & as you hand pump, it removes oxygen...John Kohler of Discount Juicers says this hand pump & lids work so well, one can store Mason Jars with liquids up to one week ! He doesn't recommend that length of storage in frig, but it works! if you want details...respond here & I'll give you my email & purchasing info for pump & lids...it sells out all the time-is in stock now...July 31st, 2022...
The information sheet link is not working. Can you repost it?
I have used mason jars for years with my FoodSaver. I don't understand why so many are having issues. I hope you can figure it out because this an awesome way to save money and products! Make sure you press the white sealer all the way down!
yes tried it and it's not working -- so frustrating.
I'm new to all this but can you vacuum seal salsa and if so how long does it last this way vs canning method? And does anyone know if I should cook it first...I normally don't but have never used vacuum seal before
@@momov41545 No, you can NOT use this for doing up your salsa. You need a pressure canner for doing that.
@@knittingknut Put the screw ring cap on after vacuum sealing the round insert lid on the mason jar.
Anne Sherman ah I found the problem. I wasn’t pushing the tubing in far enough into the little hole on the vacuum sealer. Once I fixed that it worked like a charm
Why isn't that available on newer units? They only do your zip lock bags!
The information sheet link opens as an "error". My Food Saver has the place to put an attachment, but no attachment button. How do I make this work?
How does this work with the
VS3130 Premier Multi-Use Vacuum Sealing unit. I can't figure it out. The attachment connects where?
QUESTION: can you use any mason jar flat lid or do you have to use special FoodSaver flat lids? I only plan to use this jar vacuum sealer to store dry goods such as dry uncooked: pasta, oats, cereal, etc instead of in their original boxes.
Just use any regular or wide mouth mason jar lids that you'd use for pressure or water bath canning. FoodSaver doesn't make canning lids for jars, just makes the jar lid sealing accessories for sealing systems. Don't fill jar too full of dry goods, fill up to just below the threaded rim. Some out a cut piece of paper towel over the powdered foods.
Use the hose that comes with your foodsaver unit, not the one that comes with the accessory. Make sure both ends of the hose are in all the way.
Wo kann man das Gerät und die dazu gehörigen Gläser kaufen? 😳🤗🤗
What kind of vacuum pressure does it measure at
Just be aware this method does not replace canning anything. If you’re not vacuum sealing dried food you must refrigerate or freeze!
Hi, I have a food saver. I watched your video and ordered 2 lids from Amazon. The tube goes into the lid, but the other end of the tube doesn't click into the attachment port.
That's a waste of money. Do you think I can use that other gadget to vac the zip bag, plug it in and cut the tube off and stick it into the lid?
Why do they show foodsaver products that don't work in Australia? It's just the attachment bit that's too skinny
☹️
Mine doesn't, either. I hold both ends firmly to the jar and to the machine. Works almost every time (just did 3 jars that each took 3 tries to get it).
Mine didn’t either! After trying many many times to get the light grey portion into machine it wasn’t working. However you can remove the bottom portion of the handheld part (the one that came with your machine) and insert that into port on food saver. Read this in manual that came with foodsaver. So for those saying it doesn’t work and Foodsaver customer service is no help, find you manual, look for it online, there are instructions out there we just have to dig for ourselves and help each other along the way☮️
I LOVE my FoofSaver Jar Sealer!!!. Have a problem though. Dummy me, I've miss placed my suction hose!!! I don't know where to purchase another. I'm hoping to hear from FoodSaver.
I find them all the time in used goods stores along with those vacuum canisters. You can also order them from Amazon.
I'm from Philippines how can I have this one, I want to order pls help. .thank you

I can’t get the jar sealer to go into the port on top of my foodsavor . Please help
Mine won't stay in either
@@brendadepalma6711 I figured it out . I actually removed the jar sealer thing and replaced it with another one and got it working . Took a minute to figure out which fit better . I think I ordered extra ones. Hope this helps
My food saver accessory has two grey pieces, there is not a green one marked “attach to machine”. Is there a separate part that can be purchased?
I've got a FM900 and didn't have a port to connect the hose the Mason jar dry canners came with, so we used the accessory tool bit to plug straight into the Mason jar attachment. I've tried all the tips and steps multiple times to try can some bulk almond flour I had leftover and it didn't work. For now just using the plastic bags to vacuum seal them in.
Ok I have got several jars that are ball jars that are probably around 30 years old and some I’m not sure of. I can’t get the sealer to work on them. Is there another type I can get to use? Please help
Does this method can non acidic food or just jams and fruits? The producer, forgot to add this information?
I cant seem to get my foodsaver regular mouth jar sealer to work. Any suggestions I have used 2 lids also.
I've tried numerous times to use this attachment, but it seems to pull the jar lid off with the attachment almost every time I remove the attachment. What am I doing wrong?
ZEmerson FPV same here...I'm bummed
I was having the same problem because I wasn't unplugging the tube from the top of the jar sealer before I pulled it off
This is happening to me too, even after I remove the tube from the top and "break" the seal. Still haven't found a solution....
@Benaiah Ahmadinejad Savage!!! LMFAO
Same issue here as well
The “new” hose attachment is not fitting the FM 2000. It has 2 grey adapters and the tip doesn’t go far enough in the FoodSaver to push the valve down.
I have the same model and have the same issue.
We are having the same issue with two different models.
That’s the biggest failure on Food Saver’s part!!! The great workhorse grey attachment ends, only fit the older (with much greater longevity) grey port models. You can’t interchange the green (newer models) ports with the grey. The newer green parts are extremely fragile and break when attaching. BIG MISTAKE ON FOOD SAVER for switching these and making them non compatible! Since my Food Saver broke I’ve had the hardest time finding a new model that will allow me to use my Food Saver Vacuum Lid accessories (grey ends) for Mason jars 😠.
So bummed, got my "kit" today...new FOODSAVER machine with the jar sealer attachments and the grey adapter just falls right out! Sending it back.
Yes...I was told today that the FM2000(today and this week on sale for $89...) works with the handheld...Green accessory...or hose with green tip...I bought 2 machines today & the handheld...also bought inexpensive hand vacuum(pink) on Amazon that comes with similar wide/regular top pieces & hand pump sits on top of it and you pull up/down a handle as it removes oxygen...John Kohler of 'Discount Juicers" on RUclips does videos speaking about how to get oxygen out of Mason Jars that he has made juice in with uicer or blender. He then puts Mason Jar in frig for up to 7 days & says they are perfect...He batch blends/juices & uses inexpensive pump for each...
Will this jar sealer kit work with my Foodsaver Outdoorsman GM2050 model?
The accessory hose stopped working and wouldn’t allow me to use the attachment to seal mason jars regardless of how much I pushed down to attach the hose
Does this (FoodSaver Plastic Jar Sealer for Vacuum Seal Food Storage w/ Accessory Hosework) work w/ Handheld Newell Brands #31161371 FoodSaver Vac Sealer? If so, where/how does the HOSE attach to the black Handheld vacuum unit?
I have two Foodsaver machine and both with accessory port and neither works with the Mason Jar adaptor. There is no Accessory button on both machine. What is she refering to???
It may say canister
My issue too. bought the Food Saver jar lids and hose. The hose doesn't work with the Food saver handheld vacuum extractor I bought from Food Saver. The tubes are the same diameter. if I could find a tube the size of a straw and put over each end that would work. So I am stuck with buying the food saver whole machine. but I tried my hose in a number of food saver products and the hose doesn't fit, except for model VS1120 I saw on the shelf at Target. but only the show model on the shelf was there and they pulled off all that was on the shelves, not sure if there are new ones coming out. Checking out reviews and it sounds like there may be several hose sizes being produced. I have called and emailed Food saver for help. No answer. I expect I should just go buy the brake vaccuum item. Does anyone have any model numbers that fit these jar lid accessory items.
The information sheet link is broken. Please fix it. Thanks!
I can't get mine to work either! So frustrating!!!
Susie Hubbard , I have the same problem.
@@lendouma3224 Me too
Neither end of the hose completely fit into the foodsaver or attachment, why would that be? I push hard doesn't stay attached to foodsaver and grey end doesn't completely fit against white attachment.
You have to use the hose that came with your machine, mine comes apart and fits into machine. You should be able to find this in the manual under how to use accessories
The attachment doesn't connect to the machine it just keeps spinning and won't snap in or get a secure connection. I've tried holding it into the machine, which you should not have to do, and it doesn't work and I've tried every suggestion and now my hand hurts. I'm older and this sucks.
Sounds like you have a bad hose or are trying to use it on the wrong machine. It just plugs right in on my 20 year old Foodsaver and works flawlessly every time. Replacement hoses are a few bucks.
@Jason Thanks. It's been a long time but I think what happened is my hose didn't have the attachment at the end.
Can't get it to work with Regular Mouth Jars. Including the 2 .25 Pint I tried again today.
I ordered the (wrong) jar sealer accessory on Amazon - mine does not have the green end to go in the green port. Where can I find the right sealer kit?
A call to FoodSaver..customer service...they are quite used to our dilemma with hoses...the easiest one to use with the green tip/clip...it sell out quickly, however, they assured me it would return again...they didn't know when...this is July 31-2022.
Is this available in Europe?
You should explain that vacuum sealing moist foods like in the video has to be stored in the refrigerator and should not be stored in the pantry like processed canning in water bath or pressure canning storage. This is a bit confusing
Couldn't get my regular mouth jars to seal😢
I never thought this would be so Difficult to deal with I bought a vacuum sealer it doesn’t say anything about an accessory part but it does have one and I don’t know what to press to seal a jar it only says dry moist post canister sealand stop
Andelissa ....I called Food Saver today..spent half an hour with them going over handsealers....the wide/regular top with hose kit....discussed diff't hoses...the one with green tip vs the clear one in the wide/regular kit....I discussed diff't models & had her name the ones that worked with the clear hose...then name three+ models that worked with the green hose & handhelds....I was exhausted once over...but feel I have a better understanding now....maybe give them a call? Good luck...
I cannot get this to work. The attachment to the physical machine does not lock in securely. Waste of money for the accessories
Please confirm that the jar should be stored with the ring in place. I’d been taught to never keep the ring in the jar after canning, but maybe that only applies to heat canning.
The logic behind not storing with a ring is that a seal can break and then appear to reseal (because the lid is held in place by the ring) after introducing bacteria to your product. I also want to add this should never be used as a replacement for heat or pressure canning.
You shouldn’t leave the ring on with canned foods because if the seal fails the ring can hide it. And if any water got left in there Fromm canning it could corrode. But this is not for canning. Leaving the ring on helps keep the seal in place. You shouldn’t ever vacuum seal anything for long term storage where it would really matter. I’ve used it with and without the rings. Works fine both ways.
not getting any vacuum 0 jars aren't sealing

They had them at Kroger when I was there today…… Or Walmart. Or Amazon. Or Cabela’s…
ahhh double lid, now it works.
You show a split screen of two different Food Savers but you only show how to vacuum seal with the one that just has a port, mine is the other one which you don’t show how to use…..help!!!!
Same here! Did you figure it out?
@@jelynn6463 Yes I did. The black top pops off of the attachment and you push the little green tube tip that’s exposed from taking the cap off and pushing it down into the hole of the jar sealer. You don’t need the tubing they sent with it.
Mine works just fine, until its done. When I take the sealer off the jar, there is not enough clearance without it pulling off the lid and breaking the vacuum. This is with regular and wide mouth. So are there any tricks to stop this?
Have you tried using two of the flat tops...one on top of the other...also..some put the one that sits on top of the one that will stay sealed to jar white side up...that seems to come right off when pulling off wide or regular top with hole where one
puts the hose....I hear it leaves the flat lid -shiny side up securely sealed...might be worth a try..? Hope so... Good luck..
The wide mouth attachment works but the regular mouth attachment does not work. I tried all the "tricks" to get them to seal and it just doesn't work.
Hi Charlie! We are so sorry to hear that you are having sealing issues. Please give us a call at 1-877-777-8042, and we would love to see how we can help. Thanks!
I am having troouble with mine too. I bought another one hoping it would work but nope. The Sealer pulls the lid off of the Jar when you try to remove it. I am going to try the double Lid stacking method and see if that works. The Large Mouth Sealer works great, it's the Regular Lid Sealer is wack.
I have a problem connecting vac hose to the machine
I've had foodsavers for a long time. They used to instruct you to boil the lid first in order to loosen the rubber edge. This video doesn't mention that. Either way, mine used to work but doesn't now. Also, the screwed on lid is completely optional and doesn't do anything extra.
I say it gives false seals if something was to go wrong in the jar
UPDATE: If you firmly press the jar sealer on the jar while sealing it will work. The same goes for other containers & using the attachment sealer.
After a while, you may feel that there's enough suction for you to let go.
@@anonymousprepper1463 I'm not sure what a false seal is but I've made an update after trying something new.
@@Swiggett-Walton the lid if left screwed on can cause a contaminated jar that would normally break seal from pressure to sometimes reseal. which can make the content toxic.
Boiling the lids was for canning. And even that is old news. The FDA no longer recommends that. Not that it’s bad it’s just pointless. Regardless this is vacuum sealing, not canning, and you should certainly never, ever boil the lids for this. You should never be vacuum sealing anything where it would matter. Not for long term storage anyway. It’s for things like, uncooked dry rice…..
Is there a hand operated option you could utilize without access to electricity?
Yes, RUclips using a brake bleeder to seal mason jars
You can get a hand operated, automotive vacuum pump. Lots of vids on it out here. Some call is a brake bleeder (as it can be used for that), but it's a vacuum pump.

Mine didn't work at first either. Then I tried using the hint of using 2 lids and it did. Yea!
Once you seal your jar with liquid (like soup) can you then freeze it?
No. The jar will crack.
There are jars made for freezing, but you need to freeze before sealing.
try freezing your product in the freezer in the jar with the lid off. once the liquid is frozen you can try putting a lid on and sucking the air out and put it back in the freezer. I do freeze liquids in the freezer this way, but I have not tried vacuum sealing them yet., If I ever get my jar sealer to work, I will try this.

It appears they are sold out. Everywhere. But, one of the lids will be available 6/25 & the other 7/25. I believe it was the foodsaver website that said that. Also Amazon had some on backorder until that time too
Found mine at FoodSaver when they got in a new shipment. Still had a wait related to COVID-19. Before that I read there was a backlog of 5,000 orders!
Will this work with all food savers?
Nope. Doesn’t work with mine. How frustrating
Where can I get the hose attachment?
I find them all the time in used goods stores along with those vacuum canisters. You can also order them from Amazon.
A call to customer service results in someone that is very difficult to understand. We can’t get jars to seal, customer service said we needed a hose connector that only can be purchased with a hand pump.
We spend twenty some odd bucks on the hand pump to get the new connector. The new connector didn’t fit anything.
Freeze right will never get anymore of our business.
I have tried this numerous times with the FoodSaver machine and Jar Sealer Kit I purchased recently. I CANNOT vacuum seal the Mason jars. I have tried them at 1/2 full, 3/4 full, full, and different snacks and nuts. Nothing. I do NOT recommend this product.
This doesn’t vacuum seal liquids in mason jars! I only vacuum seal dry goods in mason jars.
Ok. This is a convoluted answer, but I think we’ll get there. Years ago I did particle analysis on ultra-clean turbine lube oil. The first step to this analysis is to pull vacuum over the liquid oil liberating all of the entrained air out of the oil. Otherwise the photo cell that counted the real particles would count microscopic air bubbles as particles. It was always amazing to see how much air (that is impossible to see) was in the oil. My hunch is that there is still a lot of entrained air in your liquids that allows the pressure inside to equalize with the outside pressure and break the vacuum. If there is a manual switch on your machine, allow it to run (make it work!) until you don’t see any air coming to the top of the jar before releasing the lid. If your machine shuts itself off automatically...I have no suggestion.
@@jimread2528 I had to Google like 4 words from this response
@@jimread2528 I'm guessing if you use a bubble releaser tool, it might help as well.
It does liquids just fine. I made 2 jars of pickled eggs just the other day and used this very thing to vacuum seal them when I put them in the fridge. After a week when I started eating them I just replace the sealed lid with a 1 piece.
I was so excited to get this but it doesn’t work. I have read all the comments and tried all the tricks. Nothing. Feels like I am just going to burn out the heating element in the machine. So disappointing
You should never use just vacuum sealing on anything that is not dry, dehydrated or freeze dried. Using it on fresh food like in the video is a big no no. It might keep it for a few days longer but that's it
I see that a lot of people are complaining that this does not work. If it is not working then you most likely are using a jar without the rubber lined seal. Your lid has to have the rubber seal in it; some of the lids are all aluminum without the seal/gasket. And if you do have the rubber seal on your lids and they are still not sealing then you do not have the air vac attachment pushed in all the way.
And/or the jar rims (prior to sealing) was not wiped clean of food or debris.
Is this the same as canning food?
Hi Richard, no it is not the same as canning!
Yes, it looks so simple. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work. I've watched so many videos with tricks and fixes for failed jar sealing, but nothing helps. I can't recommend this product.
Weird. I have this exact attachment and have used it on regular and wide mouth jars and never had a single problem.
@@Jason-iz6ob lucky you!
Cannot get either size to seal !!!!! I have tried everything !!!! SOOOO DISAPPOINTED !!!!
one of the most telling things about this video is the total lack of response from Food Saver regarding the issues and questions in the Comments below. Not very good PR in my opinion!
FoodSaver is not going to reply to a RUclips video. Try going to their website and using their Contact Us form.
It doesn't work! Sealing bags is fine however
My damn accessory hose won't go in to the accessory port! Complete waste of money.
I am boycotting ball because of to many lid failures.
What are the best alternatives to ball lids?
That's not 1 inch from the rim lol.
Cant figure out how to use the jar sealer
U never sent a hose
It's agervateing......you order the Mason jar sealer lids ( which should be at the stores with the porduct, shouldn't have to order) and the tubbing is separate........really ?
