I feel like after all of this I would have just kept the dump trailer. even if it was just for leaves, then at least your dump truck isn't occupied with a leaf setup for months.
@@mabiuslandscapesllc that's all they do though in the fall is leaf cleanups.. it'll be used everyday. If the purpose is to maximize your equipment, I think they achieved that.
Wait a minute, You invested all this into the larger leaf loader setup and you aren't going to use it for this season because of a tarp?? Just grab a oversize mesh tarp and bungee it for now... Too many leaves to not be using the setup
When I lived up north, we used to use a sucker and we put it through a garbage truck so we could Ram it and then we used to dump them into farmer's scoring lot. Worked well.
Put a little safety chain on that pen before it’s lost in leafs lol. Been there done that. Looks nice. I’m still looking for a vac i need to find a used one fast.
Shawn just need to hit up your local tractor supply or rural king look for their heavy canvas tarps. I bet you could find one to temporarily work. You’ll just haft to tie it onto the truck. Those gate latches probably need greased or lubricates under the bed somewhere. Have a great day
MUCH better! Maybe look for a light setup like the tow operators use, with the brake, signals, and running lights all in one bar. Magnet mount or permanent mount to that swing arm that the blower is attached to. Not only will it be more visible, but it MAY keep the police off your back BECAUSE all the lights are visible!
Shaun I wound put some warning on the top of the truck and on that leaf loader mount too..flashers too also...I a similar set and have been hit 5 times from behind too,,they said that they could not see the truck too.....light that truck all over with service and flashing lights for safety too now....

I was a heavy soda drinker for years. Gave it up for health reasons and was tired of being a "junkie" for the soda companies. Water is the best. A little boring, but better for your health and your pocket book.
Hey guys , this looks much better and your guy does great work, just keep an eye on the square tubing coming from the trailer hitch in my opinion it’s undersized and the support above should extend the full length , it actually might act like a bend point. This type of stuff is always trial and error. Definitely looks cool.!
I have a suggestion for the lights. Look at the back of a semi truck. The lights are in a "box" They are short and could fit under the Billy Goat. Magnetic lights fall off. I towed cars and magnetic lights don't work well. I will send you a email of an idea and a seller. Great setup Team Spencer.
This all looks like your ready for leaf season. May have been better to reinforce the door and mount unit directly on door. As it is should work fine but keep an eye on the engine supports as all the weight from the leaves coming down on it could bend the frame support. Good luck with it.
Looks great... Not going to catch me with that setup... looks expensive.. You must have over 1000 dollars between those sides and mount setup invested. Crazy $
That drop pin you are using to keep the Billy Goat mount in the closed or open positions has a ball detent to keep it in place. I would like to suggest using one that uses a bail keeper, like the ones used in some tractor implements, as well to keep the pin from walking out of the hole over time as the mount moves back and forth causing the pin to walk up and out of the hole while traveling. The setup looks safe for travel, but safety is the #1 priority here! I like Coke pops, but have been really liking the Diet Pepsi Cherry lately. My usual goto for pops is Diet Dr Pepper and I find the Walmart's Knockoff Brand's Carbonation lasts longer than the name brand on a open can! Plus it tastes the same!
Hopefully the boot will be on the inside of the rear panel allowing a perfect air block. That looks fabulous, looking forward to seeing it in service. Keep mowing, keep growing, keep making money!
I hope the loader mount part that stays behind close to the truck doesnt act as a drag plow for the leaves when you dump.. Sees the pile is going to slide right into it and bury the lower metal mount bar
Kudos to Tim. That is some excellent fabrication work. Shawn do you have any idea about how much weight it added to the truck? Just a passing thought and being curious. Looks like it definitely gonna be a big asset to have. As always y’all be safe careful stay cool and hydrated and keep up the great work. We finally got some good rain down here today also. It helped but need more. lol. Bruce in Wv!!!
Wait, wait, wait back up Woody's went out of business. No freakin way! That has been an icon of canton, for generations like Taggart's ice cream like that's crazy. I cannot believe dude. They made the best root beer too. It was so good, non carbonated, so good.Okay i'm gonna stop now
Hello 👋 My favorite is the Dr.Pepper Strawberry cream zero sugar and Coca Cola Cherry zero sugar. Can't find the Oreo flavored one now..go figure 😕 I will keep looking tho. Can't wait to see the Truck in action!!!
Idk seems kinda low to the road.. the aproach angle might get you in some places ..plus you also need the three lights on the middle .. visible and reflective tape on the box gate itself.. definitely the right direction
Ive had a setup like that for years not as fancy, but for abour $300 its been working for 10 yrs a couple 3/4 plywood sheets with fancy Paint arrached to a chevy dump👍
The tube might get in way of door, no? I would def put a big wheel on that bad boy. With the leaf pack that’s going to be a lot of weight on that bracket
The proof that the setup works will be your first load of leaves that you dump. The only problem I see is the bracket that sits behind the tailgate once the Billy Goat is swung out of the way. I think that will grab the leaf load as it tries to exit. I hope I'm wrong.
@Lostpirateship congratulations man! The last resort is always protein. Every restaurant, even McDonald's, will make just plain patties, or you can add cheese. Mustard is the best condiment calorie wise. 💪🏼
I would have mounted it to the plow brackets up front, blow the leaves over the cab. Could still pull a trailer to the job site. Not sure if it's legal in Ohio, it is here. Our city leaf pickup has had it for years.

@@KenMrKLC that's not what he said. He said they would figure something out for this season to use for the tarp cover.

Great job Tim on the fabrication. Such a valuable skill set and you can tell he knows what he's doing
if you like orange soda too try sunkist zero sugar, tastes just like the original

We mounted our leaf loader directly to the door 40 years ago, just release the dump ear lever , very efficient
That's a clever idea. Should have suggested that to them before.
That’s become the standard for a set up like this. Have no idea why it’s hitch mounted to dump debris all over it.
MUCH better!

It's amazing to see someone build a leaf loader from scratch. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Team Spencer, the leaf 🌿 truck is looking great.
Truck looks great. I really think you’re going to be really happy and successful with it.

If ur driving it's illegal to use strobes on the roads only when he's doing a job he can use strobes.
You need to avoid that zero sugar crap, because the aspartame in those is more dangerous than sugar or corn syrup.
Yeah that diet soda is bad for your heart ❤️

Being 300+ lbs is way worse for your heart than drinking a diet soda once a day. And he said he doesn't drink them often.

Great setup. Your fabricator does a great job.

Where will you hang the hose for the leaves?
I was wondering the same thing.
That vac conversion looks great!
I would get some reflective tape for the back and sides, just for more visibility.
Hopefully the boot will be on the inside of the rear panel allowing a perfect air block. That looks fabulous, looking forward to seeing it in service. Keep mowing, keep growing, keep making money!
Very sweet set-up.
That is a really cool setup, I have enough leaves every year to fill that truck at least once maybe twice.
Reflector tape on sides also. No back swiping. 👍🏻👍🏻
That new leaf box and loader are looking great.
I hope the loader mount part that stays behind close to the truck doesnt act as a drag plow for the leaves when you dump..
Sees the pile is going to slide right into it and bury the lower metal mount bar
Just a heads up Woody’s Rootbeer Stand is still open

Salutations Shawn & T.Q. from Antioch, CA 😊
Looks Like A Great Setup...
Spencer's, Love the new design & economical look. Can't wait for footage on usage 2024/25. Congrats on the addition. 💪🏽🤝🏽
A split key to hold that pin down when it is closed might be a good idea
Time to put Spencer lawn care on the dump truck
Good evening Spencer that truck was very nice cool blowing leaves and God Bless
Hello Spencer’s 👋🏻 possibly put a stay 50 feet behind sign as well 🤷🏻♂️

Shawn I think you need a small light bar across the rear engine to alert drivers who drive up behind you … design looks good 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼✌🏼
With it all in the operating position driving down the road is the right taillight visible? That’s a notice job.
If yall like rootbeer, if you have a culvers around you, they make their own, and i swear its like a float straight outta the machine
Hello Shawn and TQ, way better design and it will get easier to lock/unlock with a little use and some grease on pivot points.
Looks great good luck with it.
Good looking setup we are hopefully getting rain in tn Thursday and Friday
Carry a whisk broom to clean bar after dump?
What about plowing and salting??
Hey Spencer lawn care that leafs box look good on the dodge dump truck he did a great job on it my favorite soda pop is mountin dew
Try the a&w drive in up in ravenna. I work 5 blocks from woodys and never knew it closed lol

You should attach a chain or cable to that pin so you don't lose it in a leaf pile.
Good evening love this cooler weather we’re having here in North Central Kansas. It won’t be long leaf cleanup. Hope you have a good week.
I would just weld a bar for both brake lights, and put them further out.
Mug root beer is the best never knew they had Zero sugar
What about A&W Root Beer????????? Not sure if have that burger Francine in the US i live in ONTARIO CANADA
That will be a great mulch truck in the spring!
The tube might get in way of door, no? I would def put a big wheel on that bad boy. With the leaf pack that’s going to be a lot of weight on that bracket
I think you need a trailer jack under your vac machine to alleviate the weight and strain on the pivot joint when it's extended.
👍👍
Not supposed to drink caffeine carbonated drinks when on diet
You might need a back up camera for your dump truck
No
I'm still convinced the weight of the wet leaves will break off that mount when you dump on it and try to drive away through the pile.
Don't forget the clip for the pin securing the Billy Goat in place. Hope this works out for you.
You should’ve had Tim make a fuel filler neck extension bar for your trucks fuel tank so you ain’t bending over or under to fill up the truck
Good Evening Team Spencer
The proof that the setup works will be your first load of leaves that you dump. The only problem I see is the bracket that sits behind the tailgate once the Billy Goat is swung out of the way. I think that will grab the leaf load as it tries to exit. I hope I'm wrong.
Wowee! patent that thing, sell the plans.
The best root beer is Barq’s root beer than A&W, Mug is third
Was that a Wendy's bag?
Lol
Yep! 2 burger patties no bun for lunch. 4 hours in the truck!
What's wrong with Wendy's
Nothing at all, I'm dieting myself and zeroed in on that bag! 2 Dave's Singles Please 🍔 🍔

Barq's root beer is good too!
What it cost for tim to do that
Nice, but the vaccum should have been mounted on the back door
I would have mounted it to the plow brackets up front, blow the leaves over the cab. Could still pull a trailer to the job site. Not sure if it's legal in Ohio, it is here. Our city leaf pickup has had it for years.
Plus, whoever is driving the truck can see what is going on with the vac hose.
Just move your red light some where else to see when you brake !

Mom's husband?
In Ontario, we call it pop. Also, Dr. Pepper taste like medicine.🤮🤮🇨🇦❤️
Whats the height of it?
Only Zero drink I didn't care for was Coke Zero
Stay away from zero sugar and carbonated drinks.
