My good man, thank you. After spending hours upon hours looking for a 92FS shooting video that does not play trash music, shooting steel or playing with fake 3D bullets, thank you.
I don't know why so many gun channels put over-the-top music. If you wanted to listen to music I would go to a music channel. This is what gun channels should be. Not action or comdey movie wannabes.
My brother in Christ, God will bless you. May your pockets never run dry again 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤.

I am an armed security guard and i carry this as my duty gun. All of my co-workers carry glocks and i get a ton of shit from them for what i carry. I would say about 1 in 4 of them have had their glock jam up on them. If you buy the 92fs BRAND new, clean and lube it after shooting it, you will NEVER have a problem with it. Use Beretta brand magazines to be safe. I trust mine with my life. I have not had a single malfunction with mine, and have about 1500 rounds in it so far. Great firearm, one i will take with me to my deathbed. I want the INOX version.

92fs was my first pistol I bought when I turned 21. I love it. It’s a great shooter smooth. I carry a G26 and it’s a great pistol too but there’s no denying the 92 is way smoother to operate than the G26.

Just picked up a great used one today at our local gun show as my first firearm. I’ve just loved the Beretta 92 ever since I was a kid playing Resident Evil and seeing it in all other kinds of pop culture. Getting a gun and ammo has become kinda tough during these times, so I wasn’t sure what I was gonna be able to find, but my goodness, I’m so happy I was able to acquire one of my favorite guns ever. Great video. Great breakdown of everything about the gun. Much appreciated.

A few US military service members on forums have confirmed more recent batches of M9s also have the same polymer/polymer-coated parts found on the commercial model. The fluted polymer guide rods actually help prevent the recoil spring from binding up when dirt/sand get jammed inside. Literally the only difference you'll see with the milspec models it the MPI proof marks.

. My wife broke her right hand yrs ago and has arthritis due to it. She prefers my 92fs over the glock 19 because, as she feels it, the beretta doesn’t hurt her hand as much as a glock. Not sure if you’ve traded it away yet (video is kinda old), but if you haven’t traded it, don’t. You’ll regret it and end up buying another anyway, lol. Keep up the good work!

I was Air Force EOD, we ran M9 and GAU/GUU-5
I honestly can’t say how I would stack it up performance wise against something like a Glock, but what I will say is that the Beretta “feels” way more like what a gun should feel like to me. It feels super good in the hand, it looks good, and it does what I need it to do. I even like the slightly harder kick. I’ve never used any of the models with poly parts, and I honestly don’t know that I’d want to. It’s just a really pleasing gun. I know all of that is subjective, that’s just how I feel.
It wouldn’t be the first gun I grab if someone broke into my house at night, granted, but it’s one I really like riding my hip.

I was just holding one in my FFL this morning and I was surprised how light it felt. It was lightly used, only $500, but all of my other guns are Sig Legions and 1911s so I found the lack of weight off putting. Then again, the Sig 226 legion next to it was $1266, so it’s a bargain in many respects. I have my eye on another TRP so I think I will wait. 92's are just great shooters! The only real ding I can give them besides being a little "chunky" in the grip, is that as a left handed shooter my support hand thumb likes to rest on the trigger bar on the outside of the frame and sometimes I randomly add 4-7lbs to the trigger pull.

The "heel" release models are the 92S. They take special mags or you can just get a cut out on the regular mag for the release. You can usually find trade in models for a couple hundred less than a surplus M9.

I have a M9A1 that I winter carry. Love it. I believe the M9a1 has a beefier squared trigger guard also as compared to the FS.
I had to have a 229 Legion, and a M9A3... I still like the M9A1 better, but I put VZ “thin” grips and it feels better with the grips over the slant of the vertec frame (to me). I did replace with a g model decocker, extended mag release, and d-spring.
Other than being stuck with the front sights, this is a great weapon. I like the Legion, yes, ( and the A3 is cool) - but the M9A1 with the thin grips is awesome.

  • @ShortGuy1792
    @ShortGuy1792 5 лет назад +9

I carry a 92A1 (Italian made with the accessory rail). It's had some upgrades. I got Beretta's drop in G conversion to make it decocker only. I also put in a lighter hammer spring which makes the double action trigger pull much easier. I also put in a heavier recoil spring to help reduce wear and it probably reduces recoil as well. I also got a fiber optic front sight put on it.
I have some wooden grips that are just for show. They have my favorite band's logo engraved on them and were even autographed by the front man. The wood isn't textured though so it's too smooth for carry.

The 92A1 is my edc. My setup is very similar to yours. I guess I watched lethal weapon too many times and finally decided to get one. I wanted a rail and removable sights. ( I still have the factory ones on mine) when I found out about the 92A1 I got it. I’ve had mine for about two years no malfunctions whatsoever after 2000 rounds. It’s a great handgun.

Other than 'the cool factor' I never really saw the big deal in Beretta 92's but I bought the M9A1 and I absolutely love it and that's after having a Glock 17 for years and also having a Glock 19. After shooting polymer framed pistols for a long time I found the recoil on the Beretta to be almost nothing so I don't know how you experience more recoil with the 92. The thing with the M9A1 stock is the trigger is stiff as hell but with that, there really isn't a need (in my view) to ever carry it with the safety engaged as there is no way with proper draw technique that you're gonna inadvertently fire off a round until you're ready. I have to say that if you've never had the experience, definitely get yourself a Beretta PX4 Storm because you won't be sorry. I got the PX4 and it's just about my favorite pistol now. I converted it to a G model with a Beretta kit and it's pretty damn awesome.

  • @squib3083

    1) M9A1 does not have dovetailed front sight. beretta has dovetailed front sight on the following slides: vertec, brigadier, 92A1, M9A3
    2) price difference between glock and a 92 variant is negligible
    3) for defensive purposes, TDA offers major advantages over cocked-and-locked carry
    4) newer 92 variants have a light rail (92A1, M9A3, 92x)
    5) the 92 will run mec gar 18 rd mags with 100% reliability; that is 3 rounds more than a flush G19. it's not a comparison

I know the hinderance about the safety that many speak of being on the slide but as its pointed towards you or shown in movies that way it gives the gun a totally sexy look, glad I bought one in 1991 acck md picked up all round mags from Beretta site and still think its a keeper that I can't part with no matter what. Being 453 brand new at that time 92fs compared to many 3000 ones, mine only has 500 rds shot through and looks brand new like the day purchased I just love the thing. Probably going to purchase a newer Beretta, just love the shape of all of them etc. I like Wilson Combat EDC X9 type guns too but theres something about the Beretta that makes me drool. It's the perfect tv movie gun that none other could convince me they are using firearms that can incapacitate someone. To me it's a worth every penny and then some type of a weapon. I'd buy the same if recently released.

If someone is shooting at me, I will be moving for cover. Once I have cover, I have a chance to cock the pistol. If the shooting begins at point blank range, as often deadly force encounters do, a double action trigger pull doesn't mean anything as for a disadvantage. The hype about DA/SA pistols being a disadvantage in a fire fight is bullshit. I will make sure I have it chambered with the safety off, or better yet, have a G model. As far as the recoil; I know that my personally owned Beretta 92 FS has less recoil than my Glock 17. Maybe your Glock is well broke in, yet, your Beretta has only cosmetic wear. I'm civilian army security, with almost 18 years of service with the Beretta M9. I never respected it highly until recently, ironically. The M9 got a bad reputation in the military mainly because of poor maintained/serviced weapons, that were ignored, and/or were supplied with parts from vendors that weren't factory spec.. I'm not a Beretta fanboy, but recently, I have grown to appreciate it more for what the Beretta M9 series pistol is; a great firearm. Thank you for your unbiased review.

I've never actually heard anyone say that a 92 has more recoil than a G19. I've always heard the Beretta 92 has the softest recoil impulse of any 9mm handgun. I guess I'll just have to fire them both for myself to feel what its really like. I could maybe believe the Glock is easier to control the muzzle rise, because of having a slightly lower bore axis. But in terms of recoil, I find it very hard to believe the Glock has overall less, due to the significant weight difference, as well as the Beretta having a locking-block non tilting barrel and the Glock having a Browning style tilting barrel.

Beautiful pistol. Some draw backs: it’s very big for a 9mm. It’s pretty involved to detail strip the slide for thorough periodic cleaning. There’s some tiny pins to remove and a few very small spring in there, but I found a substantial amount of gunk in there and mine is gently used. And I personally don’t like two different trigger pull feels.

Switching to the D-Model Hammer Spring (which can be had on Brownells for about $3.50) will improve the trigger pull quite a bit, and it's still a Beretta factory part.

The recoil has more to do with bore axis. The lighter the gun, the more perceived recoil. But due to the higher bore axis, the Glocks recoil is delivered straight back vs. up. That’s what you’re noticing. Can’t really fight inertia. It isn’t less recoil. That’s not possible. It is better recoil.
One nice thing about a hammer gun. Limp wristing won’t produce misdeeds or Dre’s. That’s what the 92 will have over the Glock.

I'm rather shocked to hear the opinion that the Beretta 92 has more recoil than a glock 19. If you google "lowest recoil 9mm semi-automatic" you'll see many people on various forums claim that title belongs to the Beretta 92/M9 (along with the PX Storm, steel frame CZs, and 9mm 1911s ).

The A1 and A3 models actually come from the factory with 17rd mags. You can always order them through Beretta but they are a little pricey compared to the 15s. The 18rd MecGar mags feed ball ammo just fine but if you were going to use them with carry I would definitely test them with your ammo. I carry Critical Duty and it did NOT want to feed.

Firstly the 92 series is a fantastically capable and serviceable handgun in all its da/sa glory I find it to be more accurate than myself and recoil is no issue, thing that irks me personally to really get a high grip at least for me the under trigger guard area and beaver tail are points of physical contention as they tend to rub badly (LTT I hear remedies that ) but overall not a major issue
moot points: 1) "it broke in the military trials" it was an ammo issue, that is ammo made out of spec broke the slide. Unlike civilians militaries use the exact same recipe of ammo everytime all the time so their gun really only need to work well with exactly that ammo. 2) "I hate the slide mounted safety" don't be a baby so what if you gotta reach a little more if you are decocking it should only be because you are currently safely able to do so and if this is the tool you have develop accordingly and become proficient in its operation. Or get a new gun lol.

    • @ShortGuy1792
      @ShortGuy1792 5 лет назад +1

The 92 is definitely far more accurate than I am. I took a friend to an indoor range once and we shot my 92. Our targets were 8X10 at 20ft. I was getting a 6" group and about a quarter of his shots were off the paper. He was complaining because "the sights are off". I knew the range safety officer was a competition shooter so I called him over and asked him to put a 5 round group on a fresh target. He got a 2" group.
