- The power of a plan: Putting your goals into action. Today I'll share with you how good horse trainers stay motivated and disciplined, and how deadlines can help you achieve more than you knew was possible.
Time-bound goals give us something to work toward. They put the pressure on that forces us to work instead of making excuses. It can be easy to lose motivation to ride or train your horse on a consistent basis.
We all get into this field because of the passion, the desire to learn, and the connection we feel when we're around our horses. But if that's lost, often riders slack off their routine because they lack purpose. I want to teach you how to get that back; how to create that fire even when it doesn't exist "naturally". Discipline over Motivation. Let's do it. Животные
So happy I found you here on YT this morning! Thank you, needed this!
This made me feel a tons better and saw things clearer. I’m fifteen, but have been around horses my whole life. Unfortunately all of the people I’ve worked with in the past have ended off on a bad note- and I feel for the time I’ve been riding I know nothing. I got a colt, having a trainer at the time feeling confident- not long after my trainer left, and I wasn’t sure what to do. I sent him off for thirty days to get basic handle while I’ve been working, but now trying to find people to teach me more on the ranching side of things for me, and him have been rough.
Thank you!
This is exactly what I needed to hear and everything you’ve said is so true. When it comes to working with horses, it has helped me to have an event coming up. One of the best motivators believe it or not for me, is the virtual obstacle courses available now. Sign up and pay and suddenly you’re working on a straddle or backing a figure out. I am out there cussing and wishing I never signed up, but so glad I did when I get the score and results and my horse is learned something new!
I am going to save this video to send to family and friends. Thanks for telling the truth.
I love this! Yes, there may be some cussing along the way, but boy is it rewarding when we get to the end 😉.
What a great way to build your skills and relationship with your horse. Keep up the good work!
THANK YOU for this!! I needed to hear this, as I've been a bit stuck!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
You couldn’t be more right! Thank you!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
Could you do a video discussing how you became a horse trainer?
I've actually been thinking about doing a video on that. Thanks for the suggestion!
Thank you for this video!! I needed to hear this as have been struggling with getting out and working with my horses lately and making excuses!

@@zacharias.horsemanship Thank you!
I've just started my journey and I can't imagine ever getting bored with it. I certainly hope I don't.
Thanks for these wise words. Goals are magical. I needed this reminder!
I love this, thank you. I'm a young person wanting to get into horse training and having no idea where to start, i'm looking into it being my job in a few years. your videos help me so much, tho i am struggling to fine groundwork videos. haha
Hey there! My best advice for someone wanting to become a trainer is to go intern with a well established trainer you respect for at least a year. There are so many pros to this approach, and this will help you figure out if it's really a path you want to pursue full time without having to invest deeply into the industry only to potentially figure out it's not the direction you want to go.
Thanks for watching! 👍
@@zacharias.horsemanship thank you I have plans to do that after finishing equine science. But living in Australia, its hard to find someone here.
I think Warwick Schiller is in Australia, isn't he? He might be far away from where you live, but I bet he has students and followers who are closer. I think you should aim so high that it scares you to death to imagine the possibilities. If you can't get in with Warwick Schiller, maybe you could intern for one of his interns. Maybe you would have to clean 10 stalls for a chance to watch him train for 15 minutes. Maybe you would have to clean tack for a month before you would be allowed to start cleaning stalls. Start wherever you have to start. Show up, work harder than anybody else, smile no matter what, and show up again the next day. Sometimes these things are just a test to see how badly you really want it. Good luck to you!!! You can do it if you want to!!
@@emilylewis7642 yes I belive he is Australian but he is not in Australia to my knowledge.
