Great, deserved victory. Very happy for Harry. Such an underrated player but always hard working and determined on the pitch, it was a matter of time he would break Rooney's tally. In terms of the centre backs, why not giving Tomori, White and Dunk another chance in the next break?
It’s the left side of defence that’s a problem area; those players are right-sided players. Maguire has a mistake in him but in general he understands that position without being left-footed.

I've noticed a pattern with the media's coverage of England's performances. Whenever they beat a side like Italy, France or Brazil, it's always like: "Ohhhhhh but this is a weak Italian, French or whatever team. They are in a period of transition". In the 90s, 00s and 10s, England NEVER beat teams like this. I can guarantee (!!!) that the next time England beat one of the top nations, it will be exactly the same narrative.
Media would also say that Graelish's open goal miss was a difficult one to make...

He means in general, and I have to agree. More often than not he scores braces and hat tricks in frivolous occasions and against poor opponents. Due to the stature of his domestic club he doesn’t really score important season defining goals. Hence why some people think his statistics flatter him somewhat.

As a person who is proud of his Italian heritage, I have to say that Italy's international performance for the last 10 years, has been/is an embarrassing reflection of the theatre this sport has become at home. It's 2023 and they STILL don't understand that a mistake - which can happen to any team - in front of your keeper has the potential for the opposition to score, while a mistake at the opposite end of the pitch means you have the length of the pitch to recover. This common-sense understanding seems to have eluded Italy's "defensive-minded" strategy. Beyond that, Serie A has gleaned profits from unsuspecting fans while eliciting a ridiculous number of imports. There could be unbelievable young talent lurking in the minors but they won't get discovered while imports dominate the greedy owner's teams. Finally, the officiating that aides, abets and nurtures the theatre that Italian football has devolved into, are all part of the plan. How has this worked in the last 2 world cup qualifiers?!? Let's add the Euro qualifiers to the list! There is too much money involved for Italian football to ever become world class again.
