Thank you for this. I still have to practise my landings. Currently, while fyling virtual LH, my passengers always think they booked a Ryanair flight after my landing.
😂😂😂
As far as I know hard landing is a landing at or above 2.0 G force of impact. Everything below it is firm or very firm landing at best and there are occasions when you want to do a firm landing. For example snow/snow-slush or too thick water layer on the runway to avoid hydroplaning. Also in some occasions in heavy cross wind conditions. I think my worst landing with the fenix was 1.45 G with crosswind of ~15kt and around negative 350-450 f/m.
But I'm not an expert, just an enthusiastic wanna be pilot who watches a lot of aviation related content plus googled the rest.
PS.: I got a bootleg copy of real FCOM and FCTM docs just because of the fenix and one of them is very recent, last revision was in 2022.
Exactly what I did when v2 came out.. 1 hour, 12 landings. I haven't flown an Airbus in a very long time but I now actually feel very comfortable
Long waiting for the update is finally over and I totally love it. So many things on the fix list which I immediately recognized - like yeaa I remember this and that from the past. Hoped for a review from you and here we go! :)
8:22 I can feel the anger of the airbus pilot who saw some really bad flexing over input landing videos on youtube 🤣🤣
08:25 You are describing me. Fighting with the sidestick :D
Thank you for the great information
I often see on real cockpit videos that pilots move the sidestick quite a bit during landing. Maybe not as much as Boeing pilots but they still keep making inputs. I guess in real life there's always other factors, wind, turbulence or such. But it's true that the Airbus FBW system makes flying these planes extremely easy.
Any instructor I had so far insisted that that's wrong behavior and shouldn't be done.
@@A330Driver I am not sure so I wanted to ask, does the Flight Law change right before landing? Maybe when FLARE mode is activated? I heard that it changes into alternate law. Could be complete rubbish though. That would explain the increased stick input before and during the flare
@@A330Driver so I guess this video shows much more correct real world sidestick pilot inputs ruclips.net/video/rYY9MaTInDQ/видео.html
I wonder how real sidestick feels? How much force is needed to move it? Is it stiffer than e.g. thrustmaster warthog or softer?
Thanks for the info. I thought that the slower we fly (landing), the more input is required and I thought the stick input is programmed to adapt to speed (like car with drive by wire) but does not seems like it :)
Got my calibration issues all fixed ,tried a few circuits wow you are correct hardly any input needed using side stick landing was all right but have to work on it😀
Nice to view the how to from an expert. Thank you
Yeah well , i am probably doing it wrong :) but it is hard for me , old wiggly Logitech 3D wireless joystick + a bit muscle memory from flying PMDG so much . 🤣 but i know the theory , i have Airbus family type rating for maintenance and avionics engineers - so i am trying not to fly it like a Boeing but firm and steady .. and well sometimes it is smooth like butter , and sometimes slam like Ryanair 😊😇 so every flight is opportunity to learn and practice , and i'm glad that Fenix still improving this bird . 👌
As always, great video, I am just starting to learn the A320, and this is a fantastic help, thanks!
I think the biggest difficulty when you land, is to really resist the desire to pull on the stick before 30 feet, given the false impression of rapid descent we have on our screens. I was used to the previous version to slightly flare earlier , given its tendency to hard land, but when i tried the update for the first time, i floated almost all the way to the end of the landing zone.
Thank you very much, exactly what i‘m looking for
Very informative video! It would be great to see a video like this sometime with a joystick cam so we can see what inputs you are making on your controls🙂
Very useful video an great explanations. I enjoy watching your videos, especially the Aribus ones, very much. Keep them coming, please ;)
appreciate this thank you.
Hi, I wanted to ask you some information about this very useful demonstration video. Your information is interesting, but in the video I noticed some actions that are not visible. After takeoff, retract the landing gear and disengage the FD for manual operation. Then use the sidestick to lower the nose and point out the small input to make the plane react. At that point on the FMA LVR CLB flashing, A/THR (blue), disappear. What happened? There is no comment. On the upper ECAM you can see the thrust indication CLB, N1 63.6% (I deduce that you set the thrust manually and this deactivated the A/THR. On the FCU the heading 234 appears (after deactivating the FD) and 5000 feet (ALT) set. Next you set the CLB thrust by acting on the throttle. Then there is the continuation of the very, very interesting video with the use of the FPA TRK. There is a difference if you use a TCA AIRBUS edition or a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog for sidestick management based on what you demonstrate in the video? Have a nice day.
These videos are making me want to try it sooner than i planned 😂 Thx again for the video i want learn the changes properly before diving into it. Very useful as always i hoping the displays are better even if a little bit.
You can't do anything wrong with it, just give it a go and see for yourself.
It feels as good as toliss, better in some situations
Thanks for the continued great content.
I love the Fenix after this update
As usual a very informative video , and as always i got a lot of information from this , i currently am using a turtle beach controller with no problems, i do own the thrustmaster airbus so maybe i should re hook it up for flying the airbus, for realism sake but was having issues calibrating the throttle, anyway 3 thumbs up on video ,got to go and practice this
Very instuctive video! Thanks a lot!
Thank you for the video! I definitively like it and looking forward to more. Good to see you on MSFS side again 😀. We should have A330 soon, but not sure how detailed it will be. One problem I have with Fenix A320 is the limit of time acceleration to 2x, at least it was like that in version 1. No long haul …
Excellent! Thanks !!
Very interesting, Thank you 👍👍
Hello, I would be really happy if you answer me, I'm going crazy with the 737, I'm from series x, and when I'm in flight, and I pause, leaving the pause menu, the plane starts to go down suddenly, even when I click the controller button to interact with the cursor on the various keys of the plane, pleas if anyone knows how to solve, leave a comment❤
Thank you! Do you use rudder pedals? Can you share your settings for them as I have to struggle to keep the plane on the centerline on roll-out, and you do it very well!
Hi, yes I do. My sensitivity is at default. I never change those values.
@@A330Driver Thank you!
For me the flight dynamics are not so great in the Fenix and it's not getting better in v2. I've only flown a real 737, but it nearly feels uncontrollable on short final. There is very little ground effect, with full flaps the engines need up to 70% N1 on short final to even keep VLS when just a little bit of correcting with pitch up (is this real world??), the nose is always coming down way too fast on touchdown as if lift just deletes itself on main gear touchdown and the FD also seems very slow in correcting glideslope when you get near-1-dot off.
The systems, the sounds and everything else feel so realistic, the flight dynamics are just very weird.
I just wish more was addressed about the takeoff and landing phases, every plane on msfs suffers the exact same thing but i never see any mention of it. Dang i just want it to be better cuz once you try xp you notice the differences even though maybe a average gamer wouldn't notice it without trying out xp. So much focus on systems and textures but i wish more was put on the thing you do almost all the time.
Well that might be because this handles like a a320 with fly by wire and a 737 feels like a 737. Get used to it, that is how airbuses fly
@@animatedchristmascollector3754 Not really. An Airbus pilot and instructor tested it and pointed out to the similar flaws. And this has already been aknowledged by the Fenix-devs. They are trying to fix. But it will never be really better because of MSFS limitations in simulating dynamics.
@@angelicguru4066 for the most part it handles like a 320 not a 737, it may have bugs but they are getting fixed
Good to see your perspective on the A320 meine herr, athough I imagine the A330 is an altogether different beast.
I'm loving the FM, to be honest. My landings have improved. However I am currently flying Eurowings 4355 to LOWS, where my ability will no doubt be tested. Haha.
Superb.. Learning a lot
please also post about how to do landing using yoke in boeing… I aced the sidestick landing… but still struggling using yoke… i have thrustmaster boeing yoke fyi, but rarely use it.
Hi, I made a few videos on the 737 landing technique already. On my mobile right now so I can't search the links for you, but if you use the search function on the top right of the channels main page you should quickly find them.
@@A330Driver thanks. i’ll check that out
Can you make it also for v2B2?
Im not enjoying the flight dynamics on landing. Before i would have a much smoother landing and since the update the plane slams itself on the runaway with the slightest touch. Then when om decent it randomly does -6000ft/min for like a few seconds. Anyway lets hope block 2 patches things up
Tipps 😂
Could you please make a review video on Flightgear simulator and it's legoboyvdlp A320. How realistic it is on the basis of flight dynamics.
😂😂😂
Damn Emi, I needed a new joystick and I didn't know about it, and now amazon is on delivery.... I hate you and Fenix equally :D
I'm loving your bus driver videos, in fact I'm enjoying the few sessions I had on the sim. Now on top of my usual uncertainty of what route to fly I'll have to flip a coin to decide if yoke or not.
On the TERR display there is now a yellow box with two values in the lower right hand corner of the ND. This was not there before, can you tell us what this means? :)
Terrain peaks, it shows the highest and the lowest obstacle in the given range.
It used to be there before
Thank you, what is your sensitivity levels??
Thanks! What do you think about the recommendation by fenix to set the turbulence setting to "low" because IRL Pilots said so. I am currently flying on the realistic setting because of immersion in the sim
Low
I read somewhere the fenix now autos the approach phase although im not sure. I must admit i dont really know what the real plane does when and procedures for when you activate approach in MCDU etc
When overflying the DECEL point all Airbusses will automatically activate the approach phase. That's normal behaviour.
Simple answer i suppose thx for sharing this
Hello Emi,
I landed on runway 06 in Edinburgh today and since this runway has a displaced threshold, I decided to go below the glide a bit as the runway itself isn't too long. I ended up at around 45' over the threshold and even though the G/S didn't seem off (as it is in Düsseldorf), it triggered glideslope warning. Would it happen in real aircraft as well or it's just an MSFS thing?
The glide in MSFS is a bit too sensitive on the last hundred meter or so.
Is low or medium turbelance reccomend Ed?
I am practicing with the V2 but I don't like that I need to put the turbulences on MSFS to low just for this aircraft... So I am not doing that and I am trying to get used to It even with the crazy windshear on short final that It has
I have it on Realistic always, even for the Fenix. Haven’t had any issues with it on the Fenix either.
@@namehowitzer7433 I had quite strong windshear, but Fenix is aware of that issue and even they say that we should put the turbulence on low. I don't remember where they explained why if on discord or on the blog, but they did and that really happens if you have turbulences :/
Ecam: Have TCAS stand-by - despite transponder on and ta/RA? Any suggestions ?.
The terrain stby until airborne - in v1 I could turn the terrain on on Ground.
I’m having trouble with engine start not sure if it’s my airbus thrustmaster switch ign/start then hit eng 1 on and sometimes nothing have to keep flicking it down and up wondering if throttle is not sitting right as it’s bit loose now
Jst to say didn’t have issues before update
What’s your joystick sensitivity settings ?
Linear
Why did it start beeping at 9:19?
Because he deviated from the set altitude. he is over 200ft above his set altitude
how i can buy that airplane?
fenixsim web page
Everytime i get in the airbus i feel like a little girl. When i fly the 737 i feel like a man
I'm sure you were the pilot on my UK flight this morning, just the same accent Emmanuel.
Hi, wasn't me unfortunately, I'm in the training center for my new type rating these days.
Ah your doppelganger! Was an Airbus A320 too.
@@BurnleyNuts I don’t think he flies the A320. He is doing a type-rating for the A330.
@@angelicguru4066 Ah I see, I knew he's changed from Boeing to Airbus but wasn't sure which class.
