ℹ️ About this episode:
On this episode of LivinRvision, we are on our way back to the Florida Keys, which are unique in so many ways. Just getting there is stunning with the narrow bridge hovering over the teal blue water for miles and miles.
In this episode, we make a last minute reservation to stay overnight at the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park campground for one night, then continue our journey the next morning to the Fiesta Key RV Resort. But first, we MUST stop to try what “Pie Lady” decides is the very best Key Lime pie she has EVER tasted.
Next, we check in at the RV resort before heading over to Curry Hammock State Park to go Kayaking. We’ll just say…what an adventure that was!

As a native Floridian, I have been to the Keys many times over the years. First discovered key lime pie in the 1970's and theirs is still the best!!!

Enjoyed your video. We are headed to the keys soon. We always get single kayaks. They are easier to maneuver in tight spaces and I agree that a double kayak is a divorce boat! Hate them!😂
It was easier for us to do a double so that I could still run the two different cameras in certain situations.

I think I'll pass on the Kayak adventure at this camp because it didn't look like you were having any fun. The GoPro certainly sounded off its feelings by blowing ya'll kisses. Dinner looked good. Those were some beautiful skies.

OMG just saw the thumbnail and Michelle you are eating PIE and it’s my very favorite pie KEY LIME. My sister-in-law and I even went on a spree across 3 states, yes 3 states eating KEY LIME pies trying to find the best one so needless to say I’m an aficionado on key lime. You have just added another destination on my tour. Remind me what city you are in please. I’m a firm NO on the boat. I have a death fear of water. I got exhausted just watching you guys. Who needed BioFreeze for their shoulders first. Since this van is a different color have you ever thought you lost it cause you were looking for a white one 😂.

That brought back memories. Lizzie & I stayed at Pennekamp in the 80's in a tent close to the beach. Didn't have all the accoutrements that you have for camping today but the sunrises were beautiful. Safe travels.

Timing is everything. We’re prepared for a nor’easter coming in here tonight and thinking we should head down to Florida soon to thaw out a bit. Now I really want to go. If you two ever get over to the Naples area again visit the Corkscrew Swamp. Lots of animal life and naturalists to share. Lettuce lakes, gators, birds… last time we were there it was a drought season and the lettuce lake was more like a low pond. It was like a National Geographic episode with so many species of birds trying to find food along with a mother gator and her babies from that year and the two year olds in the mix.
We love Fiesta Key resort. We've stayed there twice. We want to go with you on your next kayaking adventure! What a blast that would be. See you at the Tampa RV show!

We thought it was more fun 🤩 n our last trip 2 years ago through the mangroves by Key West. Nobody helped anyone during that guided tour but us was a blast.
Another informative and interesting 'Saturday Adventure Video' ... nothing to say on the kayaking 🤨 👎🏽 ... was so glad to see tho -- Ft. Myers & Naples 'close to normal' after Ian's utter devastation (we spent time there w/ kids 'back in the day' & was a close 2nd to Hawaii!)‼️... & we're planning to go to the 'Keys' this year so THX! for helping us firm up that decision. 💯

I’ve missed watching you guys. Always a bit of comedy. I’ve never been to Florida, but it’s on my list of places to see. It appears it’s sometime in December there based on the Christmas decorations, and you’re wearing summer clothes! I’m in Southern California and it’s freezing where I live. It was cold in December too! Of course, summers in southern California are far better than in Florida, or most anywhere in the states. Thanks for sharing your pie and kayak trip!

Next time you’re in Kyle, Texas south of Austin go to the Texas pie company and try their key lime pie -it’s outstanding along with their almond Joy pie

I have always wanted to try key lime pie. It’s not something you usually see in Australia. Don’t ask me why but I thought it was green 😂. Is it tangy? I’m not a fan of too much tang! Florida is so beautiful *sigh*
They usually have a little lime tang to them, some more/less than others. The perfect blend makes them the best.

Never seen chocolate on key lime, doesn't seem to go together....but you did say it was the best.
The chocolate was a little rich, but the actual Keylime pie part is what I was rating. It was the best Keylime pie filling I’ve ever had.

Is this RV park part of your Thousand Trails membership? Can normal people get in or do you have to have the membership? Looked like some old rigs in there? Happy New Year! Be Safe you wild and crazy kids. 😆
Fiesta Key RV Resort & Marina in Long Key is in our Trails Collection (Encore) membership but anyone that wants to stay there doesn’t need to be part of the membership, you would just pay retail price for it. In fact, our membership only has a very small amount of sites there, which makes it very hard to get a reservation during peak season.
There are many different types of RVs there, new, older, motorhomes, travel trailers, 5th wheels, vans.
I was noticing how clear and crisp your audio was on this video, especially when you were critiquing the pie. Camera or microphone change?
That was just the microphone on the iPhone and then I did some adjusting with the levels.
@@LivinRVision whatever adjustments you made, it enhanced the sound, & was much clearer and crisper.
We are in key west right now will be for 3 months.

For our mail service, we go through Americas Mailbox out of Box Elder, SD. Google Americas Mailbox for more info.
We can see all mail we get online through Americas Mailbox and then have it sent to us when we know we are going to be at a campground for a while. We just have it sent directly there from Americas Mailbox. Anything else we want sent to us right away, like Amazon, we just order and have sent directly to wherever we are staying. You ask each campground/RV resort if they accept mail…most do, then have sent to their address. They will tell you what address to use.

@binkerwoman we definitely recommend downsizing as much as you can. We finally got our storage down to a much smaller storage unit than we originally started with. It felt so good to get rid of things we finally realized we were not going to use. It was such a waste of money for 4 years before we finally downsized further. Email us at any point if you have any questions. It may take us a while to respond sometimes but we will. 😊🤓

It depends on the viewer, some like it and some don’t. Also, sometimes when the audio is bad it is much better. We ruined a mic on this kayak trip right away from the rain. Lol

The Best key lime pie we have EVER had in the Keys or not was Sweet Savannah's in Marathon gluten free key lime pie. If you are still in the area, you MUST try it!!
We went there too! I still think Blond Giraffe key lime pie was a little better. 🤓

We’ve been on a guided tour with a group of people that was a blast, two years ago in Key West. Don’t count out kayaking in general based on bad weather and location. Try it!
When did you book the night at John Pennekamp campground? I just checked and right now availability is 5 months out.
We were there just one night on Nov 25. Booked it shortly before that but again it was for just one night.

The Music is too loud and then when you speak the volume drops lower, better if the music wasn’t as loud and your voices were louder. I turned my volume all the way up to hear you to speak. Fun video, but I’d pass on the kayaking.

Sorry you are experiencing that. The odd thing about that is it isn’t the same experience for everyone nor for us when we play it back. That tells me that it all depends on the person’s system they are watching it on. Otherwise it would be the same for everyone.
We know how frustrating that can be because we all get that same experience when we watch a movie and the volumes change like that…it’s just right and then the music kicks in and is extremely loud. Play that same movie back on a system with mono speakers and it’s not the same.
@@LivinRVision I think it must be youtube because this has happened only once before on your channel. Otherwise I haven’t experienced this in your other videos. I just wanted you to be aware of it. I’ve noticed every once in a while someone else will post on other channels that I watch this same problem, but when I watch there is no problem.
I’m thinking it must be the fluctuations in network speeds. I just found this.

All others fail in comparison to there real key lime pie.
