For those of you who found this (excellent) video to magnetize the new chaos war dog kits - it looks like GW subtly improved the engineering a bit, such that the weapons will now take 6x2mm magnets quite nicely. He mentions in the video that there's not quite room for those but it looks like that's no longer true for the new war dog kit.
Thanks! Anything in particular you'd like to see? I was thinking of getting the other weapons for the Moirax and also Bray'arth Ashmantle but it depends on how the money's looking after payday. Also waiting to see what they announce as new models on Saturdays live stream. I suspect the new starter box will get announced. My money is on Sisters v Necrons.
@@GoodEnoughWargaming yeah Sisters are gonna be in the box 100% for me aswell. I just got into magnetization (and the hobby tbh, i started a month ago after 19 years of break) and im trying to learn as much as i can on that topic. So my suggestion would be videos on how to magnetize stuff even small ones like troops. For example how to magnetize intercessors - how to magnetize reavers ect ect hopefully it also cost's less and you can pull out some more videos and gain some viewers. I really mean it when i say i was surprised you have a small channel, apart for some minor camera focus wobbles the quality of the videos is good and i love your accent and entertainment while explaning skills you just need more people to find you out on youtube!
Thx mate, I'm gonna try to get the repulsor magnetising video done this week but free time is limited what with work and two kids stuck at home with limited entertainment.
Would a 3mm magnet work on the arm instead of the 4mm one? great video, also the big knights one, by far the most helpfull guides I found, keeping it simple and I love that
What are the equivalent measurements in decimal fractions for the magnets? Most places only sell them in decimal fraction sizes and nothing seems to add up. For example the 2x1mm magnets, 1/16 is only 1.5mm, 1/8 is too big at 3mm, and 1/32 is too small at 0.80mm.
You should be ok to go slightly over. The main thing is to get drill bits to match the magnet sizes you are going to use. You can use the butt end of the drill bit to check to make sure there is enough space for the magnet just by holding it against the part
It's my DIY candy metallic. You just start off with a nice, bright metallic silver, then use a mix of acrylic gloss medium with a few drops of acrylic ink, all things down to go through the airbrush.
Your video was very helpful to me. Thank you. I really like the green metal color of the armor you painted. Please let me know the color scheme if you don't mind. I'm Japanese, so I'm sorry if I make mistakes in English.
The green is my own method. What you do is paint a base coat of a bright metallic silver. Then you use acrylic gloss medium mixed with a drop or two of artist acrylic ink. You thin that to go through an air brush and carefully build up a layer of that on top of the silver.
@@GoodEnoughWargaming Thank you so much, I really appreciate it . I will try the challenge with the method you taught me! I started playing Warhammer this year. I am impressed that this is such a wonderful hobby! I will continue to learn a lot from your videos.
I experimented with DIY candy metallics a bit. So the green is actually a bright metallic base coat then covered with Windsor and Newton gloss medium with some cheap green acrylic ink in it. All done through the airbrush. I keep meaning to do a video on it, but just haven't got round to it
@@GoodEnoughWargaming would love to see a video on I’m planning on painting my chaos knights in similar colors as they were once a house loyal to the Sons of Horus and that green would look great as the base for my army
Is mine blurry? I didn't think it was.. check to make sure RUclips hasn't dropped your video quality down. I've set mine to 1080p and every so often I notice RUclips has kindly dropped it to 240
@@GoodEnoughWargaming there's a fair few points like 4:33 where what you're doing is out of focus. I'm not sure if the solution is to fix a focal point and keep what you're doing right there, rather than auto focus. I get that it's difficult to look through the camera and watch what you're doing at the same time.
Would it work / Would you recommend using FW weapons for the regular plastic Armiger to make Moirax variants? The chassis don't look that different to me.
Thank Allah you have the gods forsaken magnets used in the description AND affiliate links. Might have to poke around and see what else you have in the way of Magnetising other Knights for my dudes. I care not for the fancy paint, it is far too fancy for my plain slathaesthetics.
I’d also probably just invest in the drill bits for the magnets so that I don’t have to cut with my knife, it’s getting on in safety and I don’t want another cut or even a hole again.
I have to say I really love the baby Knights. I might get some of the new weapons forgeworld are releasing.

Thanks for the info! I haven't got round to building the new wardogs yet, might need to do a quick follow up..
Just started building my Chaos Knights army and this was great. Thank you.
I'm literally in the middle of building my abomibant right now.
Planning on doing a video on magnetising it as well.
Great guide, so much simpler and tidier than the others I watched.
Thanks! I usually try to keep things as simple as I can, just so I don't end up confusing myself.
Exactly what I needed.
Just acquired the new chaos knights so this was really helpful.
Glad I could help. Magnetising is something I live doing. In fact I usually have to stop myself taking it too far ;)

@@GoodEnoughWargaming man i know the struggle and i don't even have kids! keep it easy but keep it going thats all :) cheers mate!
With the moirax shoulders and some other areas I put a tiny bit of green stuff in before to get the magnets to sit completely flat.
Would a 3mm magnet work on the arm instead of the 4mm one? great video, also the big knights one, by far the most helpfull guides I found, keeping it simple and I love that
It might work ok. The arms aren't that heavy
I find you can fit 2 6x1mm magnets into the guns and it creates a stronger connection with the upper arm and shoulder.

Is it even necessary to glue the magnet into the gun? It cannot escape and should self-centre on the arm magnet.
Probably not strictly required but does stop it moving around

What is the reason for putting a tiny magnet in the shoulder piece? Couldn't you just use the 4mm?
Yeah it's overkill. Or can help centering the larger magnet tho but you don't need it
Why do you put a magnet in the arm if you're just gonna glue a magnet over it anyways?
More magnets gives a stronger pull. Probably not needed but easy to do
@GoodEnoughWargaming oh cheers. I'll try without it, just because I don't actually have a drill 🥲

you could totally do that no problem. The moirax is just the armiger with different armour plates.

Boy, don’t I feel dumb, already saw the Knights last year. Still sick though.
Yeah you want to use drills for the small magnets, up to say 4mm.
Glad you found it useful
Do I just need 6mm and 4mm?
you dont strictly need the 2mm one inside the arm, just having the 4mm one works fine.

Might be work ordering a few other different types so you have them to hand for later projects ;)

8 6mm x 1mm
2 4mm x 2mm
