Fantastic fishing Jon. Your bait selection and usage was a bit like the Old Woollies Pick a Mix. I recon you won that match in the last hour and a half by sticking to both margins. The lesson learned by me is to have confidence in your decision backed by a selection of baits which work. Well fished and nice pick up. ( Thanks Phil). Cheers
Thanks 👍 The fact that peg 21 was catching well down his edge convinced me they would arrive eventually. Once you get one down each side thats usually the signal that you can stay down there. They will always be somewhere: short, long or edge, so it's a matter of finding out where on the day. Just glad they turned up!
Well done jon great win. Nice to see u back to yourself. I myself suffer with anxiety and over thinking. I know exactly how you felt on your canal video had the same my self with people with there clicks just keep kicking ass jon your one of the best all rounders on the match circuit. So keep the videos coming always learn stuff from them and been fishing for over 40 years. I must try the pole feeder when i get chance on a stretch of the Ribble you must have seen on youtube but i fish the opposite bank ideal for that method. Very interesting video Jon with all the chopping and changing to keep fish coming.Something for all us less able anglers to take on board when fishing matches. On the down side was the singing at the begining of the video , we have heard you whistle in the past.So next time please just take you boots off and hum. Great video mate.

Mid-match lull. The fish just seemed to have backed off from everywhere, but watching it all back helps me analyse where I could've had more and I 100% should have started a new feeder swim once the bites stopped on that line

Well worked out Jon,i can`t understand your mindset that instigates when and what to change,at times to the watcher there doesn`t seem to be any logic to some of your decisions but you know why and i suppose that is all that matters, match angling is a science and as long as you the angler understands and the good results keep coming us bystanders can only wonder, an excellent video and an excellent result,well done cheers Jon.

Absolutely brilliant 👏, the fishing and content ,jus a thought, would a longer lash and dripping in the hard 4mm's from a greater height ,with the bright conditions and them seemingly responding to the noise, more than actually wanting to feed,especially with the corder nights, get em biting, 🤔....you've forgotten more than I'll ever know, so not trying to teach an master of his craft!

They definitely responded to the noise of catapulting early doors, but after the first wave of fish they just totally backed off on the day, which surprised me and nothing I tried brought them back
Excellent video just a quick question not meaning to sound stupid but when does a f1 become a carp does it go off weight? Love your videos john
An F1 stands for 'first generation hybrid' and the 'F1s' we typically have in commercials are a crucian carp and common carp hybrid, which don't grow too large and feed well all winter, but can be crafty to catch. They are quite different to normal carp at times.
I notice John is clipping feeders on & off the line. What feeders are these or are they modified?
A lot of Midlands venues (Packington, Barston, Makins, Boddington, Larford etc) all allow elasticated feeders which I prefer wherever allowed, as they allow you to clip one off and clip a freshly made one on. hi jon, i see youve got shot on your rig, dont you use stotz
I only use Stotz/cubes for fine tuning, back shots and if adding a weight on the bank. I find round shot neater and superior in every way so long as you put them on properly. They stay where I want them unlike slippy Stotz and the way I put them on with pliers under tension (not teeth!) they don’t ping off. 👍
