Really glad you enjoyed the day Jon. It's one of my favourite venues. Fishing was slower than usual early doors. What I was relieved about was it performed well enough. It's always a nightmare inviting people and it doesn't perform. Thanks for coming along, i was looking forward to meeting you, been a fanboy for a long time. I will be famous in me own back yard now...... Happy days , your best vid so far, not that I'm bias. 😉
No better feeling than filling it up with ground bait and then emptying it with some proper silvers, cracking video John I’m sure we want more like this! 👏👍
Great watch love bristol docks. I have a mate that lure fishes there for perch and has had some really nice ones out, it can also throw up the odd surprise in the shape off bass he has had them to 8lb
Now that's why i love fishing 🎣 that was absolutely great watching that all of the blokes so friendly and great fish and the venue seemed a great place to fish 🐠 great video once again Jon keep up the good work 👍👏👏
That was really worth getting up early for Jon. That was a great place to fish park behind your pegs nice fish some good stamp roach and skimmers well done winning the knock up great set of chaps to thats what its all about. Great video and commentary considering the weather keep the vidios coming tight lines🎣🎣🎣🎣👍
Great set of lads and awesome fishing to boot. Loved the video thanks for that look forward to the next . Cheers Jon and 34lb with a ham roll break 👏 👍 Salute you sir.
That was a brilliant day albeit a bit wet but we had some lovely fish in the end. I love that venue and will keep going back time after time hopefully see you down there again for a better session Thanks for making a video from it as well 👍👍👍
What a fantastic days fishing. Nice to see so many quality Roach and Dace coming out. Can only guess at what the weights would have been if the Bream has turned up. Great Video Jon and usual great commentary. What a great bunch of guy's, especially liked the Lunch Break idea. Thanks
I used to fish Baltic wharf as a 16 year old 30 years ago Baltic wharf has a ledge that goes out 6 meters I personally used to fish the waggler in the summer and feeder in the winter.
Hi Jon loved the video from the docks. What great fish you caught. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Glad to see you won. My husband wants to go and fish there now bless him. Have great week 😊
Great video Jon and love the variety you provide, your passion for fishing always shines through for me and the fact that your a thoroughly decent chap…. You even allowed an imposter from Winning Ways to attend the event in his bobble hat!!! Tight lines fella
Excellent video. Nice to hear and see how the swim was built, changes, tweaks and view the largest keepnet in the world. Think that fell of back of trawler. Well done guys thanks for the entertainment 👍
I used to the Bristol Avon a lot back in the day, I remember fishing a match in Bath with similar surroundings, thankfully not as many boats, next peg was a Trent angler who could not believe the amount of feed you needed to keep the fish interested, virtually all quality roach 6 to 12oz, nice to see they are still about. Cheers Jon.
Jon now that's fishing what a venue and what a lovely bunch of blokes and blimey mate what a bag of fish well-done mate and thank you once again for a great video👍👍👍
Another great day Jon, i was brought up on Roach and Rudd fishing mainly on farm ponds, sixty years later still love to catch Roach, still waiting for that three pounder. well done.
And more to the point what a great video! It’s interesting to see the feed rate at the start and through out John! Plus you caught a fare fee to show for it!
It's only a short trip up the road for me, I haven't fished it for maybe 20yrs now. Plenty of fish in the docks and feeder canal system. Calum, Trig and Andy Cranston have done video/magazine features recently on the place, great for the venue. Keep up the great work fella.
Had a narrow boat holiday years ago and spent a night moored in the docks.Got a feeder rod out and caught a few roach but bloody hell it was deep. We had a group of Hells Angles moored up next to us which made for an interesting evening but they were a great bunch of lads. Even had the old bill on the other side of the docks taking pictures of them.
I whip fished there couple years ago set up 3 6 MTR whips, hooked something big on the flick tip lost it so change to elasticated whip next 3 fish 2 roach touching 2lb and a 3lb perch had 50lb of silvers great day great place
We’ve been to Baltic Wharf many many times stopping at the Caravan Club site which has a gate to the river. But never ever seen anyone fishing ! It’s a brilliant place. Lots of good restaurants and shops a short walk away In Bristol town centre. The SS Great Britain is nearby to wander around - excellent for a short break and now I know I can fish there 👍👍👍
Nice film Jon. Ive been fishing matches on the docks for years. Interesting to watch someone approach it with a fresh set of eyes. You should come and fish our Thursday night starlite match sometime. I'll lend you a battery and spotlight.😁
Always been interested in Bristol fishing as I'm over the bridge 😆 Awesome fishing trip for you, that's what makes fishing so interesting seeing variety and a good day's sport.
good idea for a video series, have you invited along to club matches around the country, there will be lots of other venues that are hidden gems to highlight. cardiff docks next?
@Jon Arthur Angling When your next fishing Bristol City Docks try the stretch along Welsh back by the old red light ship fish a open end feeder to 4lb main line 2lb hook length to a 16 or 18 hook 3 rod lengths out you will have a good day getting bream 3lb plus .
that was worth the early rise for jon looked a great day wi some nice blokes and a half time break too looked like you really enjoyed it and a good win top man top angler
Love it. Thanks. I hope you can get near without having to pay the clean Air Zone charge nowadays. It'll be hard to get all your gear on the Park and Ride.
Nice, think you've done Bristol tourism a real boost, looks amazing, canary wharf in London very similar except we often would be moved on by misserable buggers
That was brilliant. some quality red fins there !!!... that keepnet though?? hahah did he get it off the back of a trawler?? . John Kiddle sounds a great bloke. well done to all.
I'll extend my habitual invite to you too. I live in the south of France and the roach and bream fishing is out of this world. Big sliders and deep venues. Perpignan for a bit of winter sun?
As a fisherman who doesnt much coarse fishing I fond this interesting. An odd question, when pulled hos rig is and took the old maggots off I was surprised they were just thrown away rather than just added to the ground bait to mix with all the other goodies being added putting extra blood etc. Am I reading too much in to it?
Really glad you enjoyed the day Jon. It's one of my favourite venues. Fishing was slower than usual early doors. What I was relieved about was it performed well enough. It's always a nightmare inviting people and it doesn't perform. Thanks for coming along, i was looking forward to meeting you, been a fanboy for a long time. Enjoyed that. Looked great fishing. The old liquidised bread and punch would be good fun by the looks of it. 👏🐳👍
Yes that crossed my mind too, bit of fine gravel added for the depth perhaps?
Videos like this make me wish I was closer to these fantastic venues.
Me too! It was worth the long trip though
Had a narrow boat holiday years ago and spent a night moored in the docks.Got a feeder rod out and caught a few roach but bloody hell it was deep. Interesting place, the SS Great Britain, a Banksy and thirty odd pounds of silvers all within 250m of each other!
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I'll extend my habitual invite to you too. I live in the south of France and the roach and bream fishing is out of this world. Big sliders and deep venues. Perpignan for a bit of winter sun?

What a venue.
Yep lovely place
Brilliant video. My kind of fishing. Bit of a trek for me but love to have a go. Do you need a day ticket and where the best place to park.
Frank
Free parking on Sundays nearby and free fishing
Great fishing and video, shame about the rain.
It follows me about!
I think chucking it in your feed bowl is an option but not really necessary. Thanks for watching
Shame about the weather, but you all looked like you had a great day
Absolutely
Reminds me of the broads... Horning corner... brown crumb feed... bag up on chunky... roooooooach..
Clonk! Fish on!
