Of all the high quality TV series out there, House is such a unique one and it’s the closest to perfection in all aspects. It’s funny, it’s deep, the characters are fruitful, the logics are sound, the relationships among characters are so genuine and intimate that is almost surreal. I’ve never seen and probably will never see a better one in my life, but I’m glad that I’ve seen House.
Hugh, House had a huge impression on me and will continue to do so for years to come. His wit, his timing, his hidden compassion for his patients and staff and his absolute crazy sense of humor, damn I wish they'd made another 8 seasons. I'm now watching the entire series for the third time since it's ended and I'm still emotionally affected watching each episode. I laugh, and cry and am shocked in each episode and I love the myriad of emotions this show draws out of you. Hugh Laurie has become my most beloved actors and I follow him in his future endeavors. Robert Sean Leonard is an incredible actor and his contribution to the show was amazing, I couldn't imagine anyone else filling the shoes of Wilson. The rest of the cast was incredible but the one thing that killed me was having them kill off Dr. Kutner, it was a shock when they found him dead, a suicide by gunshot?? I loved Kutner's addition to the show and I wish he hadn't taken the job with Obama and stayed on the show.
Dr. House is such a unique MD show that we'll probably never see anything similar to again. It wasn't a carbon copy of some overseas show that already existed like The Office, it didn't have the cliches and tropes of most long-running shows and from what I've heard real doctors say about it, the show actually educated the audience rather than putting entertainment above medical facts.
That's because it's not a medical show. House MD is a Sherlock Holmes adaptation, oriented around Arthur Conan Doyle's actual life. The show isn't actually doing anything about the medicine, the medicine is just a vehicle for the mystery. I don't know why you'd frame is as "educating" the audience, though. The fact that they use relatively accurate medical conditions isn't illustrative of a design for nor intent to educate the audience. The reason the show is relatively accurate is that they had medical consultants to point them in the direction of medical mysteries. This is just a detail thing for authenticity, it's exclusively for entertainment.
@deusdamnit I think some people looked at it as educational in a sense that there are plenty of informative things in the show which are pretty factual. Some people claimed that it inspired them to go to med school though, I dunno how it's going for them since no diagnostic department in this planet operates that way 😂😂 I even saw some videos that House was being played in med school lectures but my best guess is they're only looking at the medical cases, not the Sherlock stuff. So yeah, I agree that House is still for entertainment only. In fact, whenever I watch this show, I don't pay much attention to the actual medical stuff. I pay attention more on the humor, the mystery and the twists. Like, I will not proactively revisit a House episode if I want to have answers about a disease 😂
must have been so hard for hugh to put on that british accent for this whole video
Wait, I think that he has a british accent 🤔

What a gentleman.
It's so weird looking at House's face and hearing Hugh's voice come out, that's such a weird sentence but I know someone out there gets it
those words 6:57 didn't do justice to the Iron man 2 recasting and the Incredible hulk recasting has well
Movies are different. You'll never recreate House, particularly not with the chemistry that lasted 8 seasons.
