Is the Norrbottenspets your favourite dog breed?

Yes! Willful and intelligent. Playful and hunter. Mine has killed yard moles in less than a second.

Our family dog is a Norbottenspets and they are so lovely, but not for first time dog owners. They must be leashed at all times in unfenced areas in the city because their prey drive is so strong. They are quite stubborn and ours figured out how to manipulate us; clever breed.

My girl turned 18 in June. Never to consider biting a human. I You missed mentioning the ridgeback when this breed is riled. ❤

My last Norrbottenspets passed away last week at 18.5 years old. He is pictured in The World Book of dog breeds pg 186.

Our dog is 3 years old today. She loves long walks but is always on a leash. She is friendly with other dogs and people we meet. She is our second Norbottenspets, both from breeders in Canada.

I have a puppy who just turned one... she looks just like a Norbottenspet, except with a straight tail. The description in this video describes her to a "t"! I was told she was an aussie/Ridgeback mix. But she looks like a Jack Russel on steroids...45 pounds of pure muscle. She is so loyal, tons of fun and her nose is usually to the ground when we hike. The smartest and most sensitive dog I've ever had the pleasure of owning! ❤

I'd like to have one but it is difficult in spain. I had my little Noa (she passed away recently) and his father was a Norrbottenspets. She was an incredible dog, still in love with her.

We have Pohjanpystykorva, that is soon to be one year old female. Pohjanpystykorva is THE GREATEST hunting and family dog ever. I'm an active hunter, and this type dog is absolutely great hunting companion. Here in Finland these are super wanted dogs new a days, that basically you need to be hunter to get one of these. I think it's right thing to do to not to give these absolutely wonderfull dogs to people that aren't hunter themselves. These dogs have so strong sense (or something in english, I don't know the right translation) to the wild game, that if they aren't allowed to hunt it's is huge waste of a great dog.
Thank you for your video, i liked it a lot :)

These dogs are very family oriented. If you try to pet or give them attention as a stranger they don't even consider to come close to you. Finnish spitz and finnish lapphund are more social towards people. However, Norrbottenspets are lovely family dodgs.

You mean that the breed was hard to find outside there country. My neighbor has one that looks like one. The dog was a rescue.

Pure Norrbottenspets are rare, but they look similarly to many other Spitzes and spitz crosses. My current dog is a rescue and she looks very similarly to Norrbottenspets, the only differences are that she does not have fully erected ears and curled tail
