Evolution of the Infinite Lives Trick in Mario Games

- Lives can become very important when you are stuck at a hard level. Fortunately, Mario games usually include glitches or exploits that let you gain an infinite amount of lives in a very short time. Today, we're showing you said tricks in all Mario games from the original Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario 3D World.
Notes
- Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy and the Mario Land games do not include an infinite lives trick
- Super Mario Advance's trick does not work in other versions of Super Mario Bros. 2
- Super Mario 64 DS's trick only works on Version 1.0 of the game

yep, its not that amazing than you would see on an emulator on pc, but its great, so yeah, i don't think its native hardware since its a "virtual wii" inside the wii u, (i can't remember its name).
But since that "virtual wii" doesnt have any restrictions or security whatsoever, you can install the homebrew channel and custom channels in it, and give it a storage path to look for files inside your hdd; basically, mod it like a normal wii.
Since the wii u haves a native 1080p then the "virtual wii" does too, the gamecube games with 480p will look kind of 720p, and 720p ->1080p; the widescreen hack i was talking about its a code to make the game widescreen, it doesn't change any resolution, just the FOV and proportion of the ingame camera.
In the other hand, the GUI will look low-res and stretched, this can be changed inserting another code to change only the proportion of the GUI to "unstretch" it and (not allways) fit your screen size, this GUI code is rarely present in, or usable with games.
Luckly the GUI from metroid its 90% 3d models, so theres no need to change it, the gui in mario sunshine, SSB:Melee and (as far as i know)pikmin are changable, unfurtunately the one in mario kart: double dash isn't, so while the graphics are rocking at 480p~720p, the gui (or 40% of the screen) will look like shit...
If you want a true 1080p with GUI fitting the screen size, the only way to do it is by modding a rom and emulate it from a pc.... and its laggy as hell & (sometimes) buggy as fuck....

With Super Mario World there is an easier trick to farm one ups and earlier in the game. It's Vanila Secret 2. First you avoid the koopas, until you get to the gray p-switch, run back to the Parakoopas, activate it and collect the Gray coins.

There's actually a similar trick in NSMBW in (I think) world 2-5, but the way shown for NSMBW is much faster.

I thought it was kind of whiny, by the devs. Players don't HAVE to do 1UP tricks if they don't want- nor need to.
But it's just one of those classic "Nintendo Power" moments and almost feels like breaking a _"tradition"_ there.
At least they seem to endorse it to the fullest later on, with a 3-digit+ life counter. lol damn!
They could have shown a couple more from SMB 3...and the 1 they did show is the tricky one...if Lakitu doesn't get a good throwing pattern where the spiny eggs bounce off the sides of the pipe and instead bounces them down off the end of the pipe or throws them underneath it, you'll be dancing to avoid getting hit until you can troll him into a better timed pattern...

Who needs an infinite lives trick in New Super Mario Bros 2? That game hands out way too many lives as it is.

+Plobber Same goes for the Galaxy games. Well, pretty much every game after the first NSMB has handed out lives like water, and if they don't, then the lives don't matter mechanically at all. The only reason I did the infinite lives trick in 3D Land was so that every single possible thing that could be done on that profile was done, including life farming.
+Noise Pollution In the moment in that you defeat a secret boss on the first try and with the difficulty commet, you know that you are in a very easy game.
