  • This one may not be for you if you're not into obscure Swiss rail lines. But if you are there's a lot to like. After a look at Konolfingen 0:22 and the historic EBT equipment housed there 0:48, we travel up the EBT (Emmental Burgdorf Thun) to Solothurn 1:40. There we catch new railcars on the SNB (Solothurn Niederbipp Bahn) and ride to Oensingen, traversing newly laid narrow gauge trackage to there from Neiderbipp 8:49. Then on to Liestal for a round trip on the recently modernized narrow gauge Waldenburgerbahn (WB), with lots of views up the track 24:14. The third narrow gauge line we visit is the Wynetal und Suhrenthal Bahn (WSB) 35:19. It recently abandoned a portion of its line from Aarau, shifting to a former branch of the SBB that was regauged. We also take a peek at this area in 1989 37:21. The last narrow gauge line in this program is the Bremgarten Dietikon Bahn (BD) which runs through some lovely countryside in the greater Zurich area 40:39.
Correction: The Limmattalbahn was opened in 2022, not 2002.

Limmattalbahn is actually pretty cool, its the newest narrowgauge line in Switzerland, and contrary to how it looks, its not a Tram but a light rail line :)

Thanks. I'm looking forward to riding it on my next trip over.
