    It was a diesel train and them not allowed to go above 99 miles an hour that required this to be deleted and re-uploaded. That's a pretty big commitment to quality.

    'Nadraži' in South slavic means 'irritate, stimulate'. Word 'glavni' means 'main', but also 'head'.
    So 'hlavni nadraži' (h=g in Czech) means 'stimulation by head' in Serbian.

    • @mnietuniema8860

      😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
      i mean.. that wouldn't be out of place on hlavní nádraží, wild shit happens there especially at night 💀

    • @MrToradragon
      @MrToradragon Месяц назад +1

      Well the word hlavní is derived from head, so that is basically the same. (I suppose that this word must have been present already on Old Slavonic) And nádraží is derived from na dráze, which means on railway. But I do not know the origin of word dráha as it is also used for general description of path of movement or for something that given object moves on. To English it can be translated either as path (of moving object) or track (racing track, railway track)

    • @Mladjasmilic
      @Mladjasmilic Месяц назад

      @@MrToradragon Czech 'draha' (h=g in Czech) is the same as Ukraine/Russian 'doroga' (Russians say it as d'roga).
      False friend in Serbian is 'dragi/draga', which means 'dear, kind'. 'dražiti' is a verb, meaning 'to make someone dear', but not commonly used. Na+dražiti means 'to stimulate, to irritate'.

    • @MrToradragon
      @MrToradragon Месяц назад

      @@Mladjasmilic Bud dráha and doroga are perhaps only distantly related trough some very old word. There also is drahý/drahá in Czech meaning not only dear, but also costly/expensive or valuable in general.

    I’m not sure how I ended up here (I live in Canada) but this information would have been useful when I visited Czech Republic in April. I definitely enjoyed travelling on ČD, it’s a great railway system. For now, this information is useless… well until the next time I’ll visit your beautiful country again.

    Do you have National Czech Fastfood Chains ?
    Here in Québec we got a chains called La Belle Province where you can order Burger and Hot dogs and fries + Poutine + Gyros + Pizza and others meals.

    • @MrToradragon
      @MrToradragon Месяц назад

      Some, but nothing big, for example Bageterie Boulevard, but they do not offer any special Czech cuisine, just sandwiches and baguettes with things like ham, salad, and so on. That is more of international kind of thing. Then there are some smaller fast food chains founded by immigrants, but those sell things like kebab or Asian cuisine, which are quite popular, I would say, at least in Brno.
      But there still is plenty of restaurants where you can get Czech cuisine, or rather meals that are more or less currently popular (we obviously do not live in museum of late 19th century cuisine as some might think), and they usually serve some lunch menu, usually between 11:00 and 14:00, which I would consider as kind of fast food. (Such lunch usually takes about 20 minutes)

    • @TheTramly
      @TheTramly  Месяц назад +1

      Like the other commenter said, for fastfood, we only really have Bageterie Boulevard, basically our (arguably better) version of subway
      but there are a lot of places where you can get traditional Czech cuisine, lots of little locally owned pubs (hospoda)

    I think they ruined the business class in the newer railjet sets, both CD and OEBB. The older ones at OBB have a better layout, with semi-private compartments for different amount of travellers. The new ones are meh - just better seats than 1 class but I think the layout was what made the railjet business class great

    • @TheTramly
      @TheTramly  Месяц назад +1

      True, although I did really enjoy the seat, I think the jump from 1st to business is WAY larger than the jump from 2nd to 1st

    800 euros is preatty valuable , not bad compared to 600 for the deutschland ticket , especially when the CD card has ALL CD trains that makes the ⅓ increase worth it imo

      Only mainline trains, though. No metro, trams or busses. And people tend to use local transportation much more often than intercity transporation.
