Michael I enjoyed this Culture of Vintage video very much. I'm with you about using plant-based milk in my coffee and tea. Its healthier and it tastes much better. Normally I use almond milk but if I want a creamy strong coffee I use coconut cream (no added sugar or anything). I loved the way you interacted with the shop doggie and apparently he did too. Shows your good heart. Satie is one of my favorite composers. Gracie & Louis were so happy that you were home.
I subscribed to the cult of vintage just after you left your position in the retail world. This is another change in your life that I’m happy to be able to celebrate with you.
That is funny. My mother had a track shoe. She was living in Urbana when she started high school and a boyfriend gave it to her. Then she moved to Maryland and never gave it back. All her life, she hoped she could find the guy and give it back to him. It's in her glass display coffee table. The exact same shoe. I also found her scrapbook from high school in Urbana - mid to late 40s. I don't know what to do with it. I have no idea who any of the people are. Loved that bust of the woman with the big hat. Those are great to display necklaces on. Dress those girls up! And yes to the two headed baby doll!! We share a taste for the macabre! OMG - that filing cabinet! Never saw one with so many different size drawers. And the Majolica vase! So you! My grandmother cut off every button and applique from every piece of clothes she owned. Very common back in the day. I have a lot of them. Too bougie to wear! The puppies are incredible. In July, we adopted a 3 year old shih tzu who was turned back to the shelter 4 times. He was born during the pandemic and has a hard time with people. He gets a bit nippy and barks at everyone. We take him with us everywhere to try and desensitize him to people. He has his own baby seat in the car. So far, not much progress. His name is Gizmo (looks like the movie character voiced by the great Howie Mandel) and we call him Gizzy.
My mom passed four years ago. We are getting ready to move so I haven't had time to look through the scrapbook but I am sure he is featured predominantly! I think she only went to school in Urbana for one - maybe 2 years. Then she moved to Maryland and was out of school for 2 years with illnesses. But I recognized that shoe right away - it is identical. @@The.Culture.Of.Vintage

My chai order (if you like it stronger in flavor): venti chai latte, non fat (I don’t like soy😊), 6 pumps chai (or add one pump to whatever size you buy), no water (helps with it being too thin), 1 scoop vanilla powder (fabulous when they steam it with the milk), extra hot (especially on cold days) and cinnamon on top. Every time I see the babies I miss my Maltipoo. I had him for an amazing 19 years. I have 3 dogs so I don't need more but now I want a maltipoo again lol. I yelled "Yay" when the Starbucks line moved lol
