That +9850 xp boost was actually not from the new mechanic, the new update was a passive way of training mentality based on time spent on the trail (and it gives the bronze, silver, or gold medal) whereas riding close to bushes/riding over bridges/etc. are active ways of training mentality (and it gives that grey mark with the gust of wind in the middle). On the same day or the day after the update came out I did some experimenting and I found you will get the bronze medal after trail riding for 1 minute 40 seconds, silver after additionally 2 minutes 40 seconds (4 minutes 20 seconds total) and gold after additionally 4 minutes 20 second (8 minutes 40 seconds total). And if I have understood it correctly the time will only be counted if your horse still has energy left. When I did the experimenting silver gave 4500xp and gold gave 7500xp, and circa 30 minutes ago I checked how much xp the bronze medal gives and it only gave 800xp. Hope that helps❤️
