Google has reiterated time and again that it strives to provide the best information for its users. We believe it is one of the key reasons why the search engine is still considered the best among all others. However, one of the key metrics that Google used to check websites is the use of keywords to match user queries in order to provide the best results.
Websites that wanted better rankings thus got focused on creating content that will rank better and get more traffic rather than putting up the content that the visitors were looking for. To counter this discrepancy, the search engine rolled out the Google Helpful Content Algorithm. This specific update is focused on ranking up content that was written for the end user rather than ranking up the search engines.
In other words, the people-first content will now likely govern how a website surfaces on Google. Websites that are focused on resolving user queries are likely to get more traffic than websites simply focused on gaming the search engine to rank up.
