I'm a huge metalhead and an occasional composer; Eric definitely wears his metal influences on his sleeve in both The Messenger and SoS. The metal nods are always readily found in both soundtracks. Super evidently in The Messenger, but I just LOVE how he managed to get them through the SoS soundtrack despite the game being much less appropriate for it. A fucking genius he is. Hope to hear a lot more from him in the future.
