I'm glad you still support us and don't have the negative comments I see from so many other idiots here. I will say we as working Americans need to start standing up for each other instead of these greedy corps. We need to quit looking at our differences and look at what we have in common. We all want pretty much the same thing which is a living wage and respect from our employers. Is that to much to ask? It's time for working people to get their head out their ass. Republicans side with big business and trickle-down economics. This past Labor Day Trump said, "Unions were going to hell" and followed that with, "Don't pay your fees." Who's the UAW endorsing for President? Or for that matter, across the flippin' board! Actions matter UAW!
Keep paying your dues, wagie. All these immigrants that are crossing the border are looking for work, and not just for 32 hours per week, lol. This is an absurd strike that will fail.
It's all yours to gain back. That's why you have to negotiate for a pension. It's how the old UAW members received it. It wasn't just given to us. We had to fight for it and not find fault with the union members before us for not giving it to us. New UAW members take alot for granted considering they didnt have to sacrifice a thing. You have fallen into a good job with many benefits without any sacrifices, then have a disdain for the older members. We paved the road for everything you have working for the auto industry. Had the elders not fought for all that you receive now, you would have nothing because the company wouldn't give workers shit. They don't just give you all that you receive as a UAW member because they are nice people. It was fought for and won by prior members. So get ready to fight like those before you and maybe we can achieve some success.
Hey what about the sub contact company's that build GM vehicles? Won't mention name. Ohio plant worker building GM vehicles. What about us? If the contracts get worked out we get left behind.
If your not represented by the UAW paying union dues then you are not part of these negotiations. Not sure what it is you're asking. Are you a UAW member? If not, your shop needs to join together and vote on having the UAW represent you.

Good luck. Unfortunately, I think this strike will not be as successful as the UPS negotiations. Asking for a paid day off every week makes you seem lazy to the average American. How can you ask for higher wages when you aren't even wanting a full work week. Super lazy. Good luck, I hope it works out.

You haven't watched very close. Many workers in the plant work 12 hours a day 7 days a week. It's cheaper for the company to pay overtime, then it is to hire another worker. You may have sat on a loading dock and seen a few workers, but even though I don't work in the Auto industry, I have done work in more than a dozen plants, and actually see what they do. You may see a hi-low driver, and an inspector, which are pretty easy jobs, but being a truck driver is cake compared to a lot of jobs in those plants.

Why are there comments negative towards the union worker for wanting a better living wage and no concern for the top brass making their millions and contributing nothing to their communities. What is wrong with working class americans making a livable wage when a CEO of GM makes 21 million. You have 10 GM worker with a wife and 3 children each making $70,000 a year paying taxes, buying food, clothes, gas and all it takes to survive everyday or one GM executive making as much as those 10 workers combined ($700,000 for those who can't add) with 3 children. Who contributes more to the system through taxes and their communities to keep America going strong. Before unions the norm was 60-80 hr. work week. Unions fought for and won a 40hr work week. To top that off they then lobbied the Gov't to get overtime pay after 40hrs. It was the unions who did this for all americans to benefit. So asking for a 32 hour work week and a 40% increase in wages is part of negotiations to get a contract. This don't mean that is what we'll get. When you negotiate with a company you ask for many things then try to meet somewhere in the middle. They would pay us less then what we make today if they could get away with it. I bring this to your attention because you're quick to call members ignorant and call the vehicles they make over priced junk. You don't have to buy those vehicles because first class ain't for everyone and they sell more than they can make now. There's alot of foreign car companies that are begging for your american money and its always good to invest in other countries products because it puts money into their economy and tax dollars into their coffers to build their own infrastructures up making them better than ours. Lord knows we don't need extra money for our roads, bridges, schools, electrical grid system and all that keeps america strong. You go on and advocate for less and incourage foreign purchases and we we'll negotiate for more and promote Americans and their products.

You honestly think republicans are for the working class? Are you so dense that you can't see you've been played by both sides. Trump? 100% not for the working class. He's a liar. Biden? 100% not for the working class. He's also a liar. Two sides of the SAME coin. Only helping the rich get richer. Think one sides better than the other? Then you're an idiot. Show me one politician who has a clear simple plan to make the working class prosper? They DO NOT exist.
Trump is on our side.

I can't afford anything the big three builds now. I won't after this is over. Do whatever you have to do. Wont make a difference either way to millions of middle-class families who can't afford $80,000 SUV's and trucks. Im not blaming the union in any way, just saying it won't matter to us.
I'm sorry to hear that brother. Working for GM 35 yrs. and retired I can barely afford a new vehicle myself. I hope things turn around for you here real soon so you can afford some of the conforts that the rich take for granted not having to sweat for it but making someone else sweat. If you ever get into a position to be in a Union we as union member (UAW) would be glad to have you and support you in you endeavor for a better life. Wish you well and good luck.

I'm 48th president. I'm saying no. Go Sam Houston.
It's time for working people to get their head out their ass. Republicans side with big business and trickle-down economics. As a union member of the building trades, I stand in solidarity with all unions. That's until those entities vote against their interests. This past Labor Day Trump said, "Unions were going to hell" and followed that with, "Don't pay your fees." Who's the UAW endorsing for President? Or for that matter, across the flippin' board! Actions matter UAW!
Are you crazy? Dems. Fighting for the working man was over 4 decades ago.

Keep paying your dues, wagie. All these immigrants that are crossing the border are looking for work, and not just for 32 hours per week, lol. This is an absurd strike that will fail.
That's why their biggest issue is two-tier system. It is wrong, and the UAW doesn't like it. But nobody forced you to take a tier-two job.
Keep trolling, NON UNION MEMBER PRETENDING TO BE A UNION MEMBER.
@@dvdv8197 you butt hurt dog

UAW Local 402. We build GM trucks but also build trucks for another company. We build the GM trucks, GM cutaway vans
They go on strike we just get laid off until they get things figured out
WHAT CAN GMCH MEMBERS EXPECT IN THIS CONTRACT???
The first proposal from GM was a big fat “zero” wage increase. CCA’s were 2% and all others were 10%.
I thought we are ONE UNION! not assembly plants and GMCH plants@@markjou9799

Good luck. Unfortunately, I think this strike will not be as successful as the UPS negotiations. Asking for a paid day off every week makes you seem lazy to the average American. How can you ask for higher wages when you aren't even wanting a full work week. Super lazy. Good luck, I hope it works out.
I'm pretty sure that's something they will give up. That is a ridiculous request. The only way to get what you want is to start high, because you know the company will start low. They can sayif you give us everything else we will let that go.

brittanytalbott. So what you're saying is to allow them to continue to take advantage of the workers? My parents taught me to stand up for what is right and support others who do the same. We never coward down just because someone else was weak and didn't have the back bone to stand up for themselves. As for the workers who would be out of a job for a short period of time, they have the right to join a union and bargain for a contract that benefits their workforce if you have a back bone like the hard working UAW members. Maybe you can grow up to be a stronger American with values that lift up others rather than tear them down just because they want a living wage.

What is this 12 hour shift you talk about. 3 8 hour shifts in which 6 to 6.5 hours of actual work. I’ve watch this for years. Why do you pay so much detention time to truck drivers. It’s horrible when you see a trailer with 5 pallets take 4 or more hours to unload. Detention time is very costly.
I have been in a dock door for 10 hours 1 time and never got unloaded
@@kellyely4758 I can't believe they are striking for a paid day off every week. It's so lazy.
Disappointing comment from a fellow WORKER.
You should be THE FIRST ONES to stand in solidarity, since the outcome of this strike could most definitely be beneficial to you!
@@dvdv8197 only working 32 hours a week, that crazy dude
Striking going into a recession when cars are already unaffordable. Good luck with that. UPS was successful because everyone buys stuff online. People are working from home, and don't need your overpriced cars anymore. This strike will fail.
Did you not listen to anything? They made 22 billion dollars in just the first part of the year. The workers wage is a very small part of the cost of your car.
@@garyszewc3339 Revenue and profit are two totally separate things. The cost of labor most certainly important to profits, not revenue. Don't you know that these companies are publicly traded and owned by the public? Why do these workers demand less hours for more money? The public doesn't not like this. For real, do you know what percent of the profits is lost to labor costs? Do you know that? Was that in this video? No, of course not. If you cant figure that out your some kind of stupid or you just jealous because you don't have the back bone to stand up for yourselves and ask why you can't earn what you are worth. Quit knocking working class Americans for the actions of the elite (Corp CEOs) for all that is wrong with U.S. We don't send jobs to different countries so they can make a inferior produce for less but charge the same price to us. We don't invest in other countries will closing plants in our own and we don't convince the weak minded they deserve less while CEOs make more.

They’ll be begging to return to those unskilled jobs…. Be grateful someone’s paying you to build those over priced junk vehicles
You say it so true
Be grateful for being underpaid 🤦🏾♂️🤬while the company you work for profit billions gotcha
