Dr. Morgan, I wish you were located in Texas. I would travel 100+ miles to see you with my babies. So much information, I have to watch these videos over and over. Thank you for your time.
Dear Dr Morgan . You are a God send for people with pets that really love their family members , and want to do what is best to keep them healthy and happy .
Fantastic info on feeding both raw and home-cooked meals for dogs you have explained everything very well, I cant wait to get started! I have two going on 4yr old brother and sister german shepherd dogs both unfortunately have health issues the male has panus an eye condition for which he has to have steroid drops 1% daily for, the female has had some sort of bowel and gut issue for the last 2yrs after being in a kennel while we were overseas, we did our homework or so we thought, and payed thousands to have them housed she came home with corona virus which showed up in both blood tests which were taken 1yr apart and chronic watery diarrhoea , needless to say she has dropped in weight to 22kg which worries me. The diarrhoea may have finally just cleared up after a months worth of being on antibiotics so fingers crossed I am now slowly changing over their diet so have found your video very useful. I live in Australia by the way.
Linda Denny You believe what the Kennel was feeding the dogs caused problems? What were they feeding them? How are your dogs doing now? (Just had a cousin visit from Melbourne)
Thank you SO much for sharing all is this information, especially about the calcium and minerals. That part's been stressing me about home cooking for my 10 year old Belgian Malinois...who's my service and protection, as well as family member. Your golden paste recipe has been a hit. However, I've substituted cinnamon with organic ginger essential oil, after researching scientific studies of its effects against heartworms, and stopped giving Hachi chemical laden heartworm preventative. Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You So Much!! You've taken much of my anxiety out of making my own dog food. I was concerned I wouldn't feed them the right mineral balances etc. I'm getting out the crock pot tomorrow :)
Happily I make my dogs food and I’m glad to know that everything I give him is exactly what you recommend. I used to cook his food stove top but I now use the pressure cooker- 12 minutes start to finish. Is that OK rather than a slow cooker?
I have been cooking for my dog for several yrs now and your recipe is exactly what I use. You are making me feel much better because you always wonder if you are doing the right thing. She is a small border terrier and is an itchy dog....perhaps you would have an idea on that. I use wild alaskan fish oil and add it to her food once it has cooled a bit. I have one of those elongated crock pots and add 6 fish oil tablets of 1400mg each. I freeze her little bowls. I also add either some unsweetened apple sauce or some pumpkin, eggs, I alternate and sometimes put in tuna, salmon and or sardines.....oh....that sardine breath....She also gets the Zesty Paws Aller-Immune Bites, one per day as she only weighs 30 lbs. , her kibble is Hill Science for adult small dogs. I was told she had to have kibble because taurine? She prefers her but does eat her kibble when sprinkled over my home-made food and a few small cheese pieces. I do add parsley to her food for breath. Looking forward to your recommendations for my itchy, and smelly dog.....
Thank you. Very helpful. Do you know if there is a poster that shows all the vitamins and minerals amounts that a dog needs daily? I have nonworking Aussies 12, 5, 4 and 3x with various energy levels. They eat fruit in the mornings, kibble during the day with a home cooked meal at night - sometimes with a salad.
Just in case you're wondering... Amazon carries the Rx vitamins and I think the prices are reasonable too :) And Dr. Morgan LOVE your videos. Very informative and eye opening :) Thank you :)
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:42 🐶 Home-cooked and raw pet food should consist of fresh, organic, locally sourced meats and vegetables without preservatives or additives. 02:57 🍲 To start making home-cooked pet food, a crock-pot is your best friend. Choose a crock-pot size based on the number and size of your pets. 03:40 🍗 A simple home-cooked dog food recipe consists of meat (60-70% muscle and 30-40% organ meat), grains like barley, brown rice, or quinoa, fresh or frozen vegetables, and vegetable oil. 09:23 ❄️ If you make more food than your pets can consume in 3-4 days, store the excess in the freezer. 11:28 💊 When home-cooking for your pets, you must add a mineral supplement to ensure they receive essential nutrients. 16:00 🦠 Probiotics are vital for pets to maintain a healthy digestive system, as they support the immune system and overall health. 17:50 🐟 Omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial for pets' joints, eyes, skin, and coat. Ensure you're providing an adequate amount. 20:08 🍽️ Digestive enzymes are not always necessary but can help pets with chronic diarrhea or digestion problems. 21:57 🥚 Hard-boiled eggs are a nutritious and versatile addition to your pet's diet, also serving as treats. 22:39 🐶 Eggs, particularly hard-boiled or scrambled, are beneficial for dogs with kidney disease or cancer as they are easy for them to eat. Sardines and clams, despite their strong odor, are high in omega-3s and serve as good sources of calcium and phlegm drainage. 25:11 🍎 Fruits like apples, pears, and berries are great antioxidants for pets. They help drain phlegm, and most dogs love them. Bananas can also assist in phlegm drainage. 25:25 🍠 Sweet potatoes are both a blood tonic and an energy source, making them beneficial for older dogs or those with weak conditions. Lighter-colored sweet potatoes are better for diabetic dogs. 26:06 🎃 Pumpkin is a blood tonic and an energy source. It can aid in digestion, making it a good choice for dogs with digestive issues like diarrhea or constipation. 27:00 🌱 Beans are a cost-effective protein source, particularly when long-cooked. They are low in fat and have a low glycemic index, suitable for diabetic or pancreatic issue dogs. 27:29 🧄 Garlic, in small amounts (half a clove), can be added to pet meals to help with digestion and energy. It has antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. 29:30 📏 Pets should eat approximately 2-3% of their body weight daily, divided into two meals. Calorie count varies depending on the ingredients used. 31:32 💻 Online tools like BalanceIT and N8 II can help you calculate calories and balance your pet's diet more precisely. 34:04 🥘 Homemade raw diets can be balanced and species-appropriate but may be expensive and labor-intensive. They should be appropriately transitioned for older or weaker dogs. 38:03 🍗 Homemade raw diets can include high-quality meats, bones (ground or as raw meaty bones), fruits, vegetables, eggs (cooked), and fresh herbs. 43:52 🐾 For treats and snacks, you can make your own using fresh fruits and vegetables, dehydrated meats and vegetables, or high-quality commercial treats that do not contain wheat flour. 44:21 🐕 When buying pet food, read labels carefully, ensure it's made in the USA, and free of wheat, corn, soy, dyes, and harmful preservatives. 44:33 🇨🇳 Be cautious of pet food processed or packaged in the US but with ingredients from China, especially chicken jerky treats. 45:02 🍲 Explore the energetics of pet food, as it can warm or cool the body and potentially help treat various health issues. 45:38 🍽️ Adjust your crock pot temperature based on your cooking time, but always ensure the food cools before feeding it to your pet. 46:24 💊 The need for refrigerating probiotics depends on the product; contact the company for specific information. 48:29 🛒 RX Vitamins products are primarily sold through veterinarians; they maintain product quality. 49:20 🌱 Beans are a versatile option for pet food, offering various energetics and serving as a filler. 49:47 🍛 Quinoa can be a good choice if you're looking for gluten-free, non-reactive grains. 50:39 🐶 To determine the right food amount for your dog, weigh your dog and adjust the quantity based on their response. 51:43 🚫 Avoid feeding grapes, raisins, onions, but strawberries, tomatoes, berries, and bananas are generally safe for pets. 53:18 🐕 When handling raw pet food, maintain proper hygiene, cleanliness, and sterilize pet bowls to avoid bacterial buildup. Here is my public service announcement: If you're ordering the supplements, be sure it's the Canine Minerals. I was accidentally using the Rx Essentials for almost two months before I realized that it was wrong. Now I feel terrible (the calcium is nowhere near what it should be)! So, don't make the same mistake. The packaging looks so similar.
Hi Judy, what do you think of canine plus, multiple vitamin/mineral supplement. By here I science. It says: complete multi-vitamin/mineral formula that also includes digestive enzymes and fatty acids to support dogs of all ages and all breeds. Specifically formulated with a balance of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, digestive enzymes, antioxidants and other factors,
I have 3 senior dogs, one is 13 that I have had about 6 months and has hindquarters weakness who loves all food, which is a problem because he always looks for more food after I feed him. Another dog is 13 and very fussy and won't eat most food I make, he doesn't like the the taste. Even when I try to change it out. I have a 9 year old who is also fussy. They all weigh between 14 and 18 pounds. I'm always looking at better ways to make it more tasteful and healthy, so they don't turn up their nose at it. Thank you for these videos.
Excellent info! I want the best for my kids (dogs). I've been home cooking for 2 months now. was doing nom nom. But their quality and portion size was fluctuating so bad That I cancelled and started doing my own. You've opened up my eyes on nutrition values needed for them. Thanks !
Dear Dr.Morgan, my dog is too spoiled to eat. I can't feed her as well as I wish. I cook for her homemade foods, either raw or not raw, by mixing meats (she prefers chicken and beef, a lot of times minced and I also feed her on organs, skin and cartilage) with vegetables (carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato, greens). But she is hard to get to eat. This made me for a while give up on feeding her the balanced vit and min homecook foods and just feed her on her favorite chicken breast sous-vide and kibble as snack or when she feels hungry. But I feel guilty for not feeding her the whole spectrum of nutrition. However she really challenges me on losing my temper with her tandrums. Which she never wins because I control myself to never lose my temper, I learned that from you. Have you ever encountered a dog too spoiled to eat its food? I will try every suggestion you give, believe me. Now I always rotate her meats and type of foods so that she doesn't get bored with it because she does get bored if I give her 3 times in a row something she will eat well, hoping that is the winning formula! So, I stopped worrying about her not eating and if she wants to eat once a day is fine, if she skips a day is fine, but as a "mom" to my dog this worries me extremely. I wish she was just like every other dog, eating like a crocodile when fed. She is a 3kg toy poodle, too spoiled to scold her. I lost the battle long time ago. So, I give her foods like for example boiled chicken breast and she will not touch it or eat just a little. (sometimes she eats well though) What I observed, if I leave it and the next day I don't throw it away, the breast will naturally dehydrate. I will cook for her a new meal, but will not throw away the first dehydrated one. Well, on the 3rd day, she will eat the dehydrated food I gave her 3 days ago! Instead of the fresh one! Can you please explain me why? Can anyone help me? In 3 years I have tried almost every trick on her. Including not caring and leaving her without food if she doesn't want to eat and putting it back in the fridge. Leave no food except at certain feeding times of the day, like first thing in the morning or noon, or something like this. I also noticed she will bring little bags of kibble to me to feed her at night, when I wake up I have it next to me or in my hand. So she is hungry, but she is hungry at night. I also noticed that if she doesn't eat during the time, she will be hungry at night, but if I feed her at night, her stool might get loose and she will need to go to the toilet at night, which is a problem, because it's not normal to walk my dog in the middle of the night just because she might go wee. But if I don't do that, she might surprise me on the carpet! (or sheet for dog pee which is great, but for that she needs to go to where I put it ). I don't want to feel frustrated with my dog, I just love her too much, and she is incredibly sweet! Everybody loves her. If I go on a visit with her, she will eat well at the visiting family like I never feed her, which pisses me off, yet I am super glad she eats! Please advise!
I am so glad I found you today. I have become remiss in feeding my dog(s), now another rescue, because of extreme stress in my life. Am not even feeding myself properly. Just subscribed to your station as well this morning. But my dogs get people quality meat, but was trying to begin a raw food diet but realized i didn't know enough about it. I also live in NJ. Wondering how far away you are. Want to get your book. Right now, since Tues eve, 7/17/18, have a really sick little dog, rescued 4 yrs ago and he has been healthy an happy. He is approx 8 to 9 yrs old, mixed breed, but most likely some schnauzer, yorkie, terrier and alittle bizarre hair growth pattern of a Chinese crested?!! Have been taking notes for at least last hour or more...too much to go into at this point. Will try to reach you and definitely would like to order Rx Vitamins from you and need to start to make the blood broth. He's been seen by vet at Oradell Animal Hospital x 2 since Thurs, bloods done and sonogram. I'm a nurse for 35 yrs and have had 11 dogs over the years...they have all been loved so much...would and have done everything for them .....they eat first and better than I do. Last nite found out that the news may be the one that dog lovers would least want to hear...am scared and worried to point where I feel sick. Will spend today getting food for blood stew, doing more research, and loving my little guy up. He is starting to feel alittle better, fever going down, will get a thermometer....he just barked for first time looking out window at squirrels since this started...he hasn't barked at all....that's ahopeful sign. I believe this may have to do with the dose of nexgard he got last Saturday. So glad you did video on giving our dogs these prescription flea/tick killers. Have found out last few days, they are not all these poisons kill or make deathly ill. Thank you, thank you.
I have a Chinese Crested/Schnauzer mix and they are very prone to Pancreatitis. Feed a very low-fat, gluten and dairy-free diet and add digestive enzymes. Iit will do wonders for it's health. My beloved baby has been in slow recover, but the changes have been remarkable.(Oh & I don't use any pesticides or flea or tick killers. An occasional Dawn bath with a couple of drops of Tea Tree oil, Coconut oil conditioner does the trick.) God bless.
Good evening, I am new to this channel, however I am wanting info on how to wean my 2 Cats (1 aged 13 female the male around 5/6) so am wondering how to make sure my 2 cats transfer from dried foods (commercial dried and packet meat in gelatin) as I have friends whose dog and cats (stray cats) all eat their food potatoes meat fish rice veggies etc.. So I would like help in how much time to wean from one to another. Thank you. So much sense from this video.
I have been home cooking for my dog now for the last 8 or so months. She loves my recipes! I can honestly say though, that my dog eats much better than I do! :) Just one thing though, I don't give my dog supplements, I give her everything she needs in her food? I mix the recipes up, but I always add egg and ground eggshells for calcium?
I was told white rice is better than quinoa and brown rice because it’s harder for them to digest?? I like he idea of barley tho! Thank you for making this!!
Gluten is found in the grains wheat, barley and rye. On the gluten free diet you can eat many foods including meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, rice and potatoes.
I just found you and I need to watch all your videos. I’d like to hear what you have to say about the prescription flea and tick. I have a German Shepherd that 3 and he was just diagnosed with EPI. Will you please do a video on how to raw feed these dogs? I thank for this in advance 😊 I love my moses so very much and I’m sick with worry and my vet don’t seem to help me very much.
I LOVE your webinars and am learning so much. Thank you. I am a little confused. I have a 90lb pittie/mix. For the stew....At 90 lbs, my boy should have 3 cups of food. Is it 3 cups at each meal (twice a day) or 3 cups in total for the day, dividing it in half? Thank you in advance. :)
Tq very much Dr Morgan . I have a 8 weeks old toy poodle , can I feed your homemade recipe or do I have to wait till he is an adult ? I really dont wish to continue feeding him kibbles from Happy Dog puppy food (the breeder has started initially) please advise .
I'd like to know that too but unfortunately Dr. Morgan doesn't seem to answer any questions in the comments. I don't know how to reach her, Facebook or email maybe?
Hi, a friend referred me to your videos! My babies are cats, I heard you mention your cats join in on some of the meals. Which meals in particular do they eat/like?.. I want to make sure to make meals that mine will like, but they are picky. I will try one in particular if you any recommend for picky spoiled fur babies.
I do too but some people are just dog lovers while the rest of us are cat lovers! We have to learn from what info we can get I guess.. I have found other useful videos some raw food in RUclips that I'm thinking about trying .. but I want my fur babies to have both cooked and raw foods incorporated into their meals and completely off of store bought bc their health means everything to me. Organs are definitely needed! Since I have commented on here I have educated myself a lot more! Thank you for informing me!! Wish us crazy cat people had like our own web page in all this directly. lol if there is one definitely inform me please bc I want my fur babies as healthy as possible!!
I just bought a grinder they suggested. Can't wait to try it. Grinds up bones. Mine will not eat chicken wings. Some cats will. So I will grind the whole thing.
Suggestion if you have to use canned veggies and can't find the low salt : pour the liquid out and rinse the veggies off with water I'm a retired nurse and this is suggestion to people who need a low salt diet.
Boy, it sure would be helpful to have these ingredients all listed out and doses given, in the description for cats and dogs. A lot of this is dog-centric.
Hello Dr in the morning before breakfast I gave one spoon of plain yogurt mixed with peanut butter and grinder seeds, (flax, Pumpkin, soybeans) do you think they need more probiotic? I’ll get the minerals. Thank you🥰
Great, thank you.. I was shocked to hear you mention canola oil.. Most of it is GMO and treated with pesticides, so i would avoid it. How I do know,? I live in the middle of the farming area and they export it
What do you suggest to feed , 3- 6lbs female Chihuahuas, 1-10& 13 yrs old , when you keep having Power Outage and traveling and camping..thank you much..
I would suggest to anyone interested in a "species appropriate" diet, give Dr. Becker Discusses Raw Food Diet a look. While Judy Morgan's recipes may be better than dry commercial, dogs are not designed to eat vegetables or grains. No living thing should be consuming Canola oil. Judy Morgan says in the comments that she doesn't use it, yet her very first recipe calls for Canola...
I think Dr Judy explained that this is a first step and is trying to get people on board to making their own food. This is why she tells them to use common thing they can find easily in the store. Better than kibble by far. Too many are baffled by how complicated it sounds. Dr Becker uses vegetables in her recipes and if you watch the video she made with Rodney Habib ( ruclips.net/video/7P85BMCCboI/видео.html ) you will see that they say to start somewhere and research as you go along. Dogs are not obligate carnivores like cats, they can have some vegetable. This video was also made about five years ago the not many were promoting homemade foods. Dr Judy also explains the idea of variety and balancing over time as compared to trying to completely balance every meal which throws a lot of people off of homemade. She also talks about vitamin additives to help balance some meals. Dr Judy also believes in making choices in your dog's diet based on health problems it may have and the type and age of the dog. I think she mentioned canola oil as one of a few different choices and again says to switch around and not feed the same every meal. Dr Becker is great also, anyone who is promoting healthy foods for our animals deserves five stars in my book. I think the key is to find something you are comfortable with to start and keep educating yourself and keep up with the education as you go along. Know the basics and tailor your dogs diet to your comfort and financial level. Its all better than kibble.
Got any cat videos ? I have 11 that I've rescued since 2013. My wish is to have them with me as long as I can. I lost my baby 2 yrs ago when he was just 6 because of renal failure 😢. Despise dry unhealthy processed. Looking for recipes I can feed them.
Instead of veggie oil can we use coconut oil? Also what vitamins and minerals do we add to this to make complete? I'm completely new got 2 smallish dogs (dashound mix and Chihuahua mix) but not on smaller end. How much to feed
What is your take on whole raw chicken feet ,sardines and coconut oil? Also curious to your opinion of whole eggs including ground up shells to help with the calcium??
Dr Morgan are the clams added to the stew to be cooked,or are they given raw? When you say that you don't feed your dogs any starches what do consider as starches. Thanking you
I tend to stay away from the beans except green beans because of.....farts.....I have been making treats with whole wheat flour...so that is not a good thing, what flour should I use. My treats have bananas, a bit of unsweetened peanut butter and one recipe has either salmon or tuna. She loves both.
Great information and so simple. Thank you! My note in regards of ingredients: I would not add spinach ever, due to high oxalate levels. And instead of vegetable oils, I do use fish oil , bacon grease or tallow. Olive oil only if added to already cooked stew. 'Vegetible'/ industrial seed oils are very inflammatory and would not recommend to pet or human consumption (these oils originally were created for machinery lubrication, not for human consumption)
After the good is cooked. After the food has cooled. Add vitamins just before feeding. The temperature of the dogs food, when feeding, should be around their body temperature - approx.100°
I need exact all instruction on these all for my dogs to order these please my nine year old is constupated as she’s got older since I started cooking for them in last two weeks
Love your webinars but am somewhat confused. Do I boil the beef cubes in how much water first, then add to crock pot? Or, do I add all ingredients such as veggies, beef cubes and fruits into a crock pot, cook overnight and then grind afterwards, just like making a pot roast for myself? How much water do I add, if any? Can I add home made fat free, salt free broths (chicken, beef and vegetable)? Do I have to grind? Or, can I make it like a chunky stew?
I make all my own broth always have always will, beef, chicken, vegetable and I always top my dog’s homemade food with at least a couple tablespoons of broth. I keep small jars of each in the freezer just for him. No salted broth ever. ever
Hi Dr Morgan, I see you taking about cats and dogs , but I dont understand if all the recepis and suppléments appli to both because you refer always to dogs.
Rice does not have gluten in it! But the barley that you like sure does! It’s prob be a good idea make sure you get your info correct before making a video. Also I got into the TCM food energetics you talk about for awhile. Personally other than extremes like raw, cold out of the fridge foods vs hot cooked foods and the degrees in between I never could see much if any evidence of certain foods being heating vs other like differences between meats or grains etc. I eat lamb in the summer as does my dog snd I’ve not found it to be any more heating than anything else. I think it’s a bunch of hooey beyond obvious things just about anybody knows inuitively: cinnamon and ginger etc are heating, cucumber and other watery raw fruits snd veggies are cooling. Hot cooked foods warming yada yada. That said the template is useful and I appreciate it.
Hi Michelle please see the link for pancreatitis recipes from Dr. Morgan. Also Dr. Morgan has more pancreatitis recipes in her Yin and Yang book. Hope this helps. drjudymorgan.com/search?q=Pancreatitis+
Vickie L Mason not really. Look up the nutrient profiles of broths made commercially and you can have a rough idea of what’s in a similarly prepared home brew. The meat bone based broths all have very low calcium per serving (0% of human daily needs) in comparison to calcium rich foods like milk (30% of human daily needs) which suggests there isn’t a complete micronutrient source in broth.
IMPORTANT! NEVER feed an animal beans like lentils, kidney beans, soy beans, navy beans, garbanzo beans (chic peas) Green beans are good, but not canned because the food value is mostly gone.
IMPORTANT! NEVER feed an animal beans like lentils, kidney beans, soy beans, navy beans, garbanzo beans (chic peas) Green beans are good, but not canned because the food value is mostly gone. BEANS or LAGUMES KILL ANIMALS, gives them "bloat" so their intestines twist & causes a slow, very agonizing death. My dog and many others died from Purina Dog Food when they put beans in the food! Their Lawyers letter acknowledged they know it kills some dogs.
Hundreds of dog food companies include those ingredients in kibble. Very common ingredient. Doesn't mean it's the best, but that's what they do. I personally do not feed my dogs starches, but that does not mean they are horrible for all dogs.
@@DrJudyMorgan Hi they have found dry dog foods that have lentils and peas and pea products cause heart disease in dogs. So yes they are very bad for our pets to ingest.
@@deb7773 Have you noticed how even some vet nutritionist disagree on which foods we should or should not feed? It drives me crazy well not literally lol Like I know Spinach, Broccoli, other foods are high in oxalates, which can contribute to the formulation of Calcium Oxalate Stones! But yet even some really good vets will talk about adding them to homemade foods for dogs. Dr. Morgan has mentioned about avoiding Spinach in one of her videos on crystals but a lot of dog owners don't get a UA done where they know their dogs have crystals. Many but not all dogs show symptoms. My dog has had struvites for months and I would never know it if not for a UA. I was feeding her what I thought was a great dog food but has Spinach in it so I have stopped it and feeding homemade now but it drives me crazy all of the different information out there where I don't know for sure what all of the totally safe foods are 😟🐶 Other than Organic Chicken, Organic Beef, and Organic Cranberries (not juice or when there is other ingredients in it) that and the natural pet supplements I give is all I know for sure that is totally safe. Even Pumpkin, Bananas, etc are on the list to not give to dogs with crystals.
Dr. Morgan, I wish you were located in Texas. I would travel 100+ miles to see you with my babies. So much information, I have to watch these videos over and over. Thank you for your time.
My dogs eat home cook food and live in great health for over 15 years. The same food I cook for myself, they also eat. Never had a problem.
Dear Dr Morgan . You are a God send for people with pets that really love their family members , and want to do what is best to keep them healthy and happy .
I've been following you on RUclips and Facebook for years, but never saw these webinar's. These are great! Thank you!!!!
You're so welcome!
You should publish a book on this subject, I would definitely buy this book
Thank you Suzie ❤
Your explanation of EPA and DHA and doses for dogs with arthritis is so helpful, thank you.
I add Turmeric and black pepper for helping joints. (he's 10.5 years old now) and doing very well.

I always thaw the meat and layer it. High pressure natural release for five minutes then quick release
Doesn't cooking it take some nutrients out of it??? Then you are having to give them supplements???

I was thinking the same thing. I’ll probably use MCT oil.
Brett, but this video was made WAY back in 2013 and she was probably thinking canola was still "heart healthy"
I suggest to boil food im water and keep the water once done. Much of the nutrients are in the water. Thats why keeping it after going is a good idea.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:42 🐶 Home-cooked and raw pet food should consist of fresh, organic, locally sourced meats and vegetables without preservatives or additives.

And don't use the synthetic supplements
I just ordered and read your comment and realized I’d made that mistake. Thank you! I canceled my order and have ordered the canine minerals.
@@susanreiss1112 please explain what you do instead?
@@trabei6133 I'm using an organic plant based vitamin and mineral blend for dogs and its 100% human grade.

Hi Judy, what do you think of canine plus, multiple vitamin/mineral supplement. By here I science. It says: complete multi-vitamin/mineral formula that
also includes digestive enzymes and fatty acids to support dogs of all ages and all breeds.
Specifically formulated with a balance of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, digestive enzymes, antioxidants and other factors,
I also heard if you feed raw meat you can balance the phosphorus by adding ground egg shell....what do you think of this?
Thanks a million for your advice I will do as you said. God bless❤😇
Wow. That was awesome!! Hopefully you can do a video when you make the food and put it all together. And also what are the times they need to be fed?
Excellent info! I want the best for my kids (dogs). I've been home cooking for 2 months now. was doing nom nom. But their quality and portion size was fluctuating so bad That I cancelled and started doing my own. You've opened up my eyes on nutrition values needed for them. Thanks !
SO informative. Many, many thanks.

My beloved baby has been in slow recover, but the changes have been remarkable.(Oh & I don't use any pesticides or flea or tick killers. An occasional Dawn bath with a couple of drops of Tea Tree oil, Coconut oil conditioner does the trick.) God bless.

Thank you so much for this video! So helpful !

3 cups total per day. Divide the meal into 2 or 3 meals per day

Cats need organ meat. taurine. I wish she would have talked a little about cats.

Ok thank you!!

Am wondering why after such a fantastic video, you have had no reply, I think your question needs answering especially 4 months later.
Store their food in the middle of a large cooler that's filled with ice every 3 days. That's what I do.
Omg thank you for sharing this!
I love Dr. Becker but I was very disappointed to find out that the nutrient packs they sell to add to homemade dog food are sourced in China.
I’m assuming the measurement is 1cup of quinoa that’s already been cooked right? We’re doing our best to give our dogs healthy food.
Sooo many comments about canola oil. This video is 8 years old, dr. Judy no longer recommends it.

I tend to stay away from the beans except green beans because of.....farts.....I have been making treats with whole wheat flour...so that is not a good thing, what flour should I use. My treats have bananas, a bit of unsweetened peanut butter and one recipe has either salmon or tuna. She loves both.
How do we see the next video
Do all the chicken bones need to be ground or can they negotiate whole bones. ie choking etc.
Spinach is perfectly fine for dogs. It's the least oxalate of all leafy greens.
🇫🇷☕️💕🌈 thank you for sharing . It is very useful...
Do you add the RX minerals while cooking or after cooking?
After the good is cooked.
After the food has cooled.
Add vitamins just before feeding.
The temperature of the dogs food, when feeding, should be around their body temperature - approx.100°

what do you think about green tripe?
How can I order this RX mineral vitamin to my list
Would topping kibble with a cooked stew be hard on the bellys?
No, that would be fine.
Gosh I wished you was local.
06:33 - White rice has lots of gluten in it ... ?

@@judymorgan4241 appreciate that. Thankyou.
Is this recipe ok for kitty cats
Dr Morgan Can you use the Butterball ground turkey?
She said no>has salted broth and other undesirable
Regarding #1 - I find barley is quite fattening. Regarding #4 - My dog has soya oil. And I never feed potatoes.

if your making bone broth would that take care of minerals

It drives me crazy well not literally lol
Like I know Spinach, Broccoli, other foods are high in oxalates, which can contribute to the formulation of Calcium Oxalate Stones!
I was feeding her what I thought was a great dog food but has Spinach in it so I have stopped it and feeding homemade now but it drives me crazy all of the different information out there where I don't know for sure what all of the totally safe foods are 😟🐶
Other than Organic Chicken, Organic Beef, and Organic Cranberries (not juice or when there is other ingredients in it) that and the natural pet supplements I give is all I know for sure that is totally safe. Even Pumpkin, Bananas, etc are on the list to not give to dogs with crystals.
Just add apple cider vinegar with the food for calcium source. No need to sardines

No cooked bones!!! You can brush their teeth with dog toothbrush and paste, get safe dog dental chews, certain chew toys can help.
