@@octoplodThis pedal is gold if it's in good hands. Versatile pedal that can emulate various pedals from crunch to overdrive to distortion or even fuzz. Can even mimic the different amps dirt sounds. You can play any genre and lastly, use this as a booster! If paired with EQ, this is a dynamite.
The OS-2 is directly a SD-1 and a DS-1 in the same box and the Color knob lets you mix them. By keeping the Color all the way to OD you are comparing two SD-1.
OS-2 is such a great Pedal! I use it in DS mode through Ch1 on my Mig 50. All my other Pedals are lying around, after I got this one by accident (was in the box from an Fender Amp I bought used). People probably try it with wrong Amps.. For example it didn’t sound too good through the Super Crush I owned, but the Mig 50 is an AMAZING AMP that loves Pedals!
I find it responds better to valve amps rather than solid state. I guess that isn't too surprising as it came out in 1990. The Mig 50 is amp I always wanted to try and I'm quite tempted by the resent reissues.
@@octoplodI got one on Sale for 530€, so it was an easy choice.. For 800€ I would‘ve maybe considerd the 5150 since I play Metal.. but I‘m very happy with my Mig now.. you get 2 Amps in one, with an ABY even 3… the clean Sound is perfect
Yes. I use single coil pickups and they notorious for picking up noise. You can often hear it on my recordings. I don't clean it up, to keep the recordings as 'true' as possible. However I do sometimes use a noise gate to kill the noise before the guitar plays.
I think the SD-1 is hard to beat for a no frills overdrive but you can get some interesting tones on OS-2 when you start blending in the distortion circuit.
You are actually correct. The OS-2 is directly a SD-1 and a DS-1 in the same box and the Color knob lets you mix them. By keeping the Color all the way to OD you are comparing two SD-1.
These are the best demos. No BS just noise. 🤘🏼
Thank you!

@@brandonv1603 thank you, that will inspire me to make some more 🙂
That OS-2 sounds great
and yet it is one of those pedals that seems to get ignored by most people
Super overdrive sound much more HiFi
Thats why

OS-2 for versatility. The sound greatly depends on your tweaking/mixing. You can mimic a brit combo, rectifier, or even make it a booster.
The OS-2 was the first pedal I bought in the mid 90's. It's still on my board. I stack it on a Morning Glory for a big sound.
Os-2 has been my main Gain since day one. It was my first distortion in 1991? What ever year anthrax did bring the noise
SD-1 is my favorite pedal
SD-1 absolutely sweeps
The OS-2 is one of the best pedals out there. Very underrated pedal and not expensive.
I agree, the OS-2 is often ignored but I don't know why. You can get some great tones from it.

I love the OS-2. Two iconic sounds in one box with the option of blending them together? What’s not to love?
I think the BOSS OS-2 is often over-looked, I'm not sure why 🤷

El SD-1 es el mejor ..lo tengo mucho tiempo y es inigualable
El SD-1 sigue siendo un clásico 'overdrive'
do you have the same problem with the os-2 its so noisy when your not using your guitar and still so oist even if your using your guitar

Which do you prefer?

i don't have OS-2 but I couldn't agree more on this ..

These pedals are mild. I want my Boss Metal Core and Metal Zone.
Don't forget the HM-2 🙂
I hear no difference
It's always interesting to hear how two pedals compare when they are re-amped with exactly the same performance, guitar, amp, signal path etc
Don't worry these people are delusional and there isn't a difference

OS-2 wins
almost the same both
More knobs means less tone. DS-1 is better, and the turbo mode is lame. DS-2 wave shape is a little bit more interesting tho.
I've often thought that it is a shame that pedals don't have a switch to bypass the tone controls for that reason

@@dsan94 Exactly. More knobs lessen the tone dramatically.
