I want to express my gratitude for this mini documentary being made and exposed, there is so much going on here in Venezuela, those are maybe 15% of the problems exposed but it is something being exposed beyond the massive exodus going on. Venezuela is undergoing a major crisis and the government (dictatorship) is to blame without a question. My generation, young adults who were children when this all started, are suffering a great deal to be able to survive, I am a professional, an Architect graduated with honors and I had to quit my job cause what I got paid wasn't even enough to move from my home to my workplace, that's why we are seeking opportunities beyond our boarders, we have so much to give, and we would love nothing more that to give it to our country but here we are being executed, shot dead when we protest and being killed from hunger. This madness must stop and the dictator must be removed, but the army fully supports the government and is not afraid to kill people who dare to protest and rise against it. We have lost so many young valuable life's here it's sad and frustrating to say the least. So thank you so much for showing what's going on here.

@IlIllIIl lllIlllIlI Is that Nicholas Maduro? Welcome to RUclips, Senior Presidente! You're doing a bang up job down there in Venezuela with your Socialist economics. It looks like you've gained a few pounds since taking office. Bummer that the average Venezuelan has lost 11 kilos since Socialism was instituted. Socialism seems to be treating you well.
One benefit of socialism is that it enables it's adherents to feel morally superior. The state will never be able to effeciently allocate capitol. And Socialism will inevitably fail after the socialists have looted the economy. Nordics are free market, high tax welfare states. When their citizens move to the US statistically they experience higher incomes and superior lifestyles. Because they keep more of what they earn.
I'm from the US, I lived in Venezuela in the 80's Caracas, Maracaibo and Valencia (ciudad mechanica) It was 4 bolivars to the dollar. I loved the Country and the people. Some of my fondest memories to date. Wishing a quick recovery for all of Venezuela.
Remember What Bernie Sanders Said “These days, the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, VENEZUELA and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger. Who's the banana republic now?” Yep everyone in Venezuela income is equal...equally poor
Where are all the Hollywood people who boasted about how great socialism was for Venezuela? Where are Shan Penn and Danny Glover or the great Bernie Sanders.
As a Mexican, this is a nightmare, I'm so sorry our neighbors in Venezuela are living like this :S and nobody can do something, anything to really change their situation, we are witnessing their tragedy with held hands.
Yeah, that’s what happens when people decide to be communist parasites and live off the backs of others. They all end up poor. Sometimes it’s irreversible. When you vote in liars promising free stuff like magic, you deserve what you get. Only morons believe in communism. The only reason Venezuela isn’t the richest country in the world is because it’s people are too stupid/lazy to organize their government and promote open market capitalism. They want to tear down the rich, who supply all the innovation and jobs and make new technology affordable for everyone. Those stupid losers deserve what they get. Let them be an example. NEVER vote in pathetic liars promising magic, like joe Biden. You’ll regret it, and it may be irreversible.
As a Latin American I always find it funny when they translate Spanish to English. Its never translated word for word and it's hardly ever what the people truly say...
That's my people. I'm Venezuelan. I'm 29, I left the country on March this year to try to find a job in Chile. I remember as a child I used to dream going to Maracaibo to know that modern city which had the greatest Christmas festivities every December. Venezuela had and still has warmed hearted, jolly, nice, noble people. But the last years I lived there, I was horrified of the amount of Brian washed supporters the government amassed, all alongside increasing crime, inflation, poverty, hunger and illiteracy. Such is history, such is life, but I wish it wasn't like that. I love what my country was before.
i think the problems of Venezuela are not new, they have been just exacerbated by Chavez and Maduro bad policies. I travelled in Venezuela in 1984 and it was already dis-functional country with corrupt officials, rampant crime, nasty police, failing public service, unreliable infrastructures. The easy money of oil starting in the 50 s has totally corrupted and destabilized this country. The economy is entirely to be rebuild , but it wont happen as long as Maduro is in power
dou40006 Nope, you're quite wrong. Venezuela wasn't a bubble isolated from the rest of the world, it had it's problems like any country. But in the 80's it was a remarkable developing country, Caracas was among the best south American cities, Calabozo-Guarico was a paradise full of Italian immigrants. Little towns all around were thriving. The disruption brought by this government is new.
I used to teach for Open English, many of the students were Venezuelan. I remember in 2014 a lot of them started saying they no longer lived in Venezuela. It's so sad to see people suffering.
dou40006 beauty is at the eyes of the beholder and I think you're complicated very hard person to please, most of everyone will agree Venezuela was at its best peak on the 80s
In 2011, Sanders said that, "...the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger." He has since then recognized the irresponsible and undemocratic direction Chavez took and has distanced himself from his legacy. It wasn't socialism that ruined the economy, it was greed, consolidation of power, and hubris. The crazy thing is that Donald Trump is following in Chavez's and Maduro's footsteps.
Price controls destroyed the market. Not just because there was no hard currency for imports. But because there were no price mechanisms to determine how much and when it should be produced. I think price controls and a state run economy are a bad recipe in a country like Venezuela. And not even the Scandinavian socialists follow this dreadful recipe. You cannot run the whole economy with price controls. That is why it was doomed for failure.
phatcowboy76 because in the state things are in there I see little hope things change without some kind of Divine assistance... whatever that may mean to everyone.
International sanctions don't affect anything a country is able to produce by itself for its own people. That's the problem of Venezuela: the pseudo-revolution destroyed every production in the country, except oil
I was in Maracaibo many, many years ago and I remember a wonderful city, friendly happy people and everybody was actually doing well on oil......shame to see how polluted the lake is now. It used to be gorgeous.
Venezuelan here, yes, we're socialist, But we're technically communist. So it's pretty much inevitable to get rid of this ideology from the face of Earth at this point.
The problem is that they practiced mere "socialism" and not SOCIAL DEMOCRACY which is practiced in: Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Finland, etc. That's the problem. Not one person in the government should be entrusted with all property and money. WE the people should play a part. these European countries are doing VERY well!!!
How sad I came upon this tragic story. Here in America, I do not see this news on our Media.. why?? I found these news stories through RUclips.. Why can't the UN or salvation army n red cross help....😲
Venezuela has always had a lot of problems when the oil price goes low. Too dependent on oil. My father used to do business there in the 70s when the oil price was high and it was thriving. I visited in the early 90s and you could see it had gone downhill. Terrible crime rates. Saw a gunfight in the middle of Caracas. In 1996 it was even worse. The Venezuelan governments never made enough of an effort to diversify the economy and provide employment for the urban poor. Also so much oil was wasted. 2c a litre lol for petrol. I saw people cleaning pavements with it.
in Venezuela they know that time as the '' venezuela saudita '' in the 70s when they were richer than all the countries of Latin America and immigrants came from Europe and neighboring countries, 40 years later now many want to leave.
As a Filipino living in a 3rd world country, I feel you my Venezuelan brothers. The only advice I can give to you is YOU NEED A REVOLUTION TO REMOVE YOUR LEADER!!!!

The love isn’t coming from the US. Misery is. The illegal sanctions imposed are the cause of Venezuela’s problem. The collapse of the oil price should not have decimated the country. The US preventing them from selling any oil was the cause. Take away all the income of the country and starve the people. The US once more demonstrating it is run by monsters.

Right, i didnt knew it was this bad. Like i been watching more videos like this about Venezuela and how everything is. And didnt knew it was that bad. Its amazing how i dont really see stuff like this on the news. Like aint much about it. They only show them coming and making them look like crimals when there not. They just want help or get away from there. Like i would run away from that place too. Its sooo much corruption.
Sofia, I pray for Venezuela every day. My best friend died there. She was turned away from the hospitals because the hospitals said she would die faster in the hospital. She told me so much of what is going on there. She was a co-founder of Copei. I don't know what to do to help.
Maybe there should be a Venezuelan group that is for both supporters and Venezuelan people...maybe some productive ideas...one of which would be to have Russia move out of Venezuela.
@@nxcarnage It is far too worse than anyone may imagine. It's a real nightmare.
Who put these people in power in the first place? Oh yeah, the people did. So it's not the dictators, it's the people.
Sofía Pérez Cárdenas I’m so sorry you have to endure this. I have a question. I hear the people on this documentary saying “ dictator“ I read your post you too say “dictator”. Why not say socialism? Not once did I hear people on the documentary say SOCIALISM. Por que no dicen esa palabra. I live in the United States we have many of our citizens pushing for this socialist idea. I am opposed to socialism and when I see Venezuela I say socialism killed this beautiful country. Gracias por su tiempo.
It's a miracle that the country has managed to avoid civil war at this point.
That is what the Us sanctions are designed to achieve. US modus operandi . Then they step in and take control of the oil as in Iraq, Libya and Syria.
@@KeithHinch That might explain why 20% of Venezuelans still support Maduro. I actually think that the sanctions are counterproductive if the goal is to incite a civil war because they give Maduro a plausible excuse for why Venezuela's broken economy isn't his fault.
Venezuela has the worlds largest oil reserve. Fear not, the US will liberate you when you rise up. Every person is only 3 meals away from anarchy.
Was there in 2000..margarita..so beautiful..wtf going on...this dictator needs to be removed
doesn't take long does it?

"this dictator needs to be removed". If trump was worth a shekel , hillary would be in prison....Who will get rid of our dictators ???
Kozmic Karma Koala got to be an inside job....theres no other way
Dominico pimp also in 2000 many parts of that island where horrible
Dominico pimp sounds like the citizens needs to rise up and start blowing up the pumps and companies
That Lake is disgusting!!!!
still cleaner then you ganga and jamna
that is because the oil was nationalized and placed in the hand of stupid loyal cronies who knew nothing about the oil industry and placed their idiot friends in the supervisor roles.
Its so sad! :-(
I thought pollution of the environment was not supposed to happen under Socialism.

There is a book called The Maduro Diet: How three-quarters of adults in Venezuela lost an average of 43 pounds in two years
If Americans had the same diet they would then be of average weight
So shame that I'm from Maracaibo and see this make me cry, all this situation in my country is fault of ignorance and now we're getting our paid back... I'd seen people seeking for food on the garbage and feel a little bit lucky cause my mom is no longer in Venezuela and I can enjoy a few luxuries but is sad see my country like this, with sweat and tear I'm finishing my veterinarian carrer to left this situation. I feel glad of this report. Socialism is sh!t
What do the people do? What has to happen to change this devastating trajectory?

@IlIllIIl lllIlllIlI Is that Nicholas Maduro? Welcome to RUclips, Senior Presidente! You're doing a bang up job down there in Venezuela with your Socialist economics. It looks like you've gained a few pounds since taking office. Bummer that the average Venezuelan has lost 11 kilos since Socialism was instituted. Socialism seems to be treating you well.

So happy for my little Guyana

Filmmakers afraid to utter the "S" word. Socialism.
Sunset Paddy because this isn't socialism.
Mama2agn You're right, it's only socialism.when it's Nordic countries! 😂😂😂
It WAS Socialism. Now it's the remains of a collapsed Socialist system.
Nordic countries are not Socialism.
I am hopeful that Venezuela will see the light of day again. RESPECT
Who's the banana republic now?” Yep everyone in Venezuela income is equal...equally poor
mattzx77 yeah but people have to earn at least 5 minimum wages that to could leave in a town outside of the Los Angeles area

But not everyone in Los Angeles works minimum wage.
Where are all the Hollywood people who boasted about how great socialism was for Venezuela? Where are Shan Penn and Danny Glover or the great Bernie Sanders.
Morons following their shadows to death.

The people voted and continue to vote for a socialist government so I don't feel sorry for them.
The USA tried to help guess what happened when trucks full of food made to the border? The communists burn the trucks fool of food.
Venezuela will never recover.
As a Latin American I always find it funny when they translate Spanish to English. Its never translated word for word and it's hardly ever what the people truly say...
Why is it?
Most language is like that. Can't really say it word for word in English
You can really can not translate English into Spanish word by word...
It teared my heart when hearing the kid not having enough food to eat and no future...

Bernie Sanders said Hugo Chavez's policies would work!!! Bernie Sanders = NEVER RIGHT!!
Judo Lover , could you give CREDIBLE EVIDENCE of such statement????
Hugo Chavez is dead. An ex-bus driver runs the country. Go look into better Socialism countries like Sweden and Norway.
no hassle Sweden and Norway are not socialist countries. They're capitalist countries. Western Europe doesn't have any socialist countries.

Please clarify that the international sanctions will not affect the common citizens, as those sanctions are specific to named government officials
International sanctions don't affect anything a country is able to produce by itself for its own people. That's the problem of Venezuela: the pseudo-revolution destroyed every production in the country, except oil

My father had very happy memories of the Venezuela of that time. Hopefully one day Venezuela will be able to get to grips with the resource curse.

Because people still believe in the experiment of socialism. What people don't understand is the rich stay rich in socialism.
A.K.A Bernie Sanders' and alexandria ocasio cortez running slogan for 2020, "Make America Venezuela!"

In the middle of this report I saw two dogs running around freely. That surprised me, since most of the animals in the zoos are reported as eaten by the citizens of Venezuela.
Well they wanted everything for free.
And pushed all the hard working guys out.. Now what? Lol
Venezuelans were quite happy to dispossess their rich, then their upper middle class, then their middle class; and now they are all poor except for the top socialist party members
Well suffer now, I'm not happy to see it, but apparently there is no other way for them to learn
Socialism eventually eats its own.
Venezuela is such a beautiful country that has been totally devastated by democratic socialism.
60 years ago, Venezuela was 4th on the world economic freedom index. Today, they are 179th and their citizens are dying of starvation. In only 10 years, Venezuela was destroyed by democratic socialism.
Stop US sanctions and other interference, which would give the democratically elected government of Venezuela the freedom to fulfill its obligations.
