DJI Osmo Action Microphone Adapter TESTED (CYNOVA) w/Rode Wireless Go *** ULTIMATE VLOGGING setup ??
Really appreciate on all of your efforts. Keep up the good work. You did great!😀😃😄
I also got the same setup ... it works great ...absolutely superb so far
Yeah, very nice and compact set up!
Thank you, I learned to increase audio output level to 3 on Rode Wireless Go.
Group III you are welcome! But level 3 is a little bit too much for me (too much background noise. I usually use level 1 or 2 on Osmo Action.
Thankd for the info man.
But I think internal mic quality is better than wireless go.
Thank you for your great video. Need your help in finding the Osmo Action original cage bracket (sitting on top of the camera where I could mount any speaker. I did look into the Ulanzi website as in your video but this product is NO longer available. Without this piece, I would not be available to mount anything including the Rode Wireless Go Audio.... Any help would be appreciated.
Nice video definitely have a good set up there 👍 but I know what I need to add to my setup on my osmo action I've been using it for a couple months in it it's already doing a great job keep up the good work peace
I don't know from my end but I didn't hear much different between internal mic and wireless go. I thought the wireless go so close to you so it only filter Ur voice but it include other voices. What is we use with rode mini
Glad to see it works well together. I have the Osmo and need to get the Wireless Go and Adapter. Good setup!
Hi Sean, thank you for watching! It is really a compact vlogging set up :)
Very helpful! Thanks. New subscriber.
Thanks for the sub!
Enjoyed the video. I have the Osmo Action and the Rode Wireless Mic, so it looks like I need to pick up the adapter. Thank you.
Thank you for watching. It is a compact vlogging setup for me as a beginner. Just watched some of your videos and subscribed. Enjoy your stay in London!
Level 2 is best I find
Great video been using rode videomicro mic with my Osmo Action setup. Will upgrade to rode wireless go.
drone_drifter Thank you for watching. I also bought the Rode Lavalier Go for the Wireless Go recently. Will do comparison with or without Lav mic later :)
Please say about camera tripod and camera box that you used
I just saw your video of how the Osmo action mic adapter and the Rode wireless mic work. When you were showing how to remove the door on the side, I found that in thge the video that fitting looks a bit worn. My thoughts are, If you keep taking off and putting back on and taking off again, The more times you do that, the fitting is going to get so worn and wideened to the point where the fitting will not be snap fit anymore or will eventually break from all the removal and reinstalls of the door. That would be a big problem over time UNLESS< You are going to keep the mic adapter plugged in all the time then it would not matter.
How did you get the Rode wireless receiver to sit on top of the Osmo Action? 🙏🏼
blu tack 😜 you might also consider buying the Ulanzi OA-8 microphone mount which works well on the original cage
@@360TechBrews ah ok I’m using the square rode wireless go 2 and wanted a mount for it but it doesn’t look like there is one. Guess I’ll use some Velcro then. Thx!
Is it possible to hook up multiple mics to the Osmo Action Microphone adapter from DJI?
Great Video! THX
Thanks for watching!
👍👍
Internal mic is very good
Yeah, not bad indeed!
I bought the original adapter from DJI but the microphone icon does not appear on the screen. No matter which microphone I plug in. No sound is recorded. I have bought two new Osmo Action. Same result with both.
So you dont´need an michrophone from the recevier. Is it a build in michrophone in the recevier? Thx for the review
Hi, you are right. You can also connect a lav mic to the receiver.
@@360TechBrews Ok thx for your answer :)
Did you manage to look at the wav form on your clips? For some reason, the Rode mic seems to need to be set at a higher input volume in order to get ‘presence’ and even then, it is skewed towards the lower frequencies, which is a little odd since my Rode mic sounds the other way around.... more geared into mids/top. It sounds to me like the adapter is altering the sound of the Rode quite a lot.
Ian here is an Edutige ETM-001 on the OA audio adapter. www.dropbox.com/s/e8iztc4puo5k11w/OSMO%20Action%20Audio%20ETM001.m4a?dl=0
Bob
Ian Craig Thank you for the comment. I will try. Which tool do you suggest to check that?
Maybe just compare the sound of the mic into a recorder with the sound on your camera. To me, the Rode really doesn’t sound anything like mine. I would expect it to be much brighter. I noticed the same effect on another video I saw about this same adapter.
@@bobwhitewo3b Thank you for sharing. Your Edutige ETM-001 sounds better than my Wireless Go :)
Sorry Bob, I missed your post for some reason. The Edutige mics are quite nice for the cost aren’t they? Micbooster now also makes a similar one with the em172 in and it’s really good.
I suspect that there is some kind of issue with the Osmo adapter. On all of the examples I’ve heard, the mics lose a lot of their top end sparkle so that clarity in many cases seems to dip below the Action’s own internal mics.
Actually, I was looking for a Hero 5 replacement and once I heard these adapters, I ruled the Action out. For me, the audio needs to be a little better in all honesty.
nice video bro thanks very helpful 👍
Thank you for watching! Happy to hear you found it useful!
@@360TechBrews just got a new camera now I'm looking for the accessories the very best thing that you show is the adapter that is possible to connect to the camera also connected to a power fountain even when is recording! My camera is connected to my motorcycle I want to keep charging all the time👍 thanks !
Jose Lemus yeah, that is a clever design 👍🏻
I can see on my osmo action the mic is popping up in combination with rode wireless go and the cynova unit, but the latest firmware release which I have is 01.10.00.40 (7251) and it seems it does not work at all. Please help.
Good review my friend. keep up the good work.
ifilmic Thank you for watching!
I bought my Osmo Action and Rode Wireless from ebay with a Cynova adapter and my camera doesn't pick up the mic. The reciever is getting the audio but not the camera, I don't understand
Did you see the mic icon on Osmo Action after connecting to Rode Wireless? Or you can try the Rode Wireless on other camera. Just to troubleshoot if it's something wrong with the Cynova adapter.
Did you solve the problem? My wireless go works with other cameras but the sound is not picked up on the Dji. The microphone symbol shows up, but it doesn't record the sound. The Rode is showing it is receiving sound?
Did you fix your issue? If so what did you do?
@@3700blklab most likely there is something wrong with the mic adapter
@@360TechBrews ok thanks
To be honest, it is not a stereo mic adapter. The sound of this mic adapter does only give mono sound.
I just received a Movo WMX-1 wireless microphone today and the lavalier mic is not working correctly when using the Cynova adapter. I made sure the Receiver and Transmitter were paired and I plugged in the TRS cable into the Cynova adapter that plugged into my Osmo Action. The mic icon on the Osmo Action shows up but it is grayed out. I speak into the lavalier mic and the mic icon audio meter doesn’t move. The Cynova adapter should be working because it is producing a mic icon. Is it not compatible? It works fine with an external mic. I'm stumped. Any thoughts?
Hi, looks like the setup is correct. Can you try it without the lav mic? And did you try wireless mic on other cameras?
@@360TechBrews But wouldn’t I need the lav mic to capture audio? I’m thinking they sent me a bad TRS cable. I’ll test it with my iPhone once I get a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter. If that works, I’ll buy a new TRS cable.
@@SoCalDrone4u I thought your wireless mic can work without a lav mic (like my Wireless Go). And yes, probably it's cable issue.
What is the cage and hot/cold shoe model you sued at 7:05?
I hear the CYNOVA won't record stereo. Very dissappointed.
Ellen Lincourt looks like it is the case
Ellen Lincourt The mic has only one condenser, it is not producing a stereo signal and it is producing a single mono signal. it is possible to split the single channel into two mono channels or use a single channel. If using two channels it doubles the preampfification inside the camera. Many adapters do exactly that. Pro audio preamps have a switch so the user can choose one or two channels. It appears this adapter uses a single channel. This is an engineering choice, but not necessarily a fault. In post it is possible to duplicate the single track if wanted. At no point does any shotgun or lav mic ever produce a stereo signal. Some mics, such as the Rode Stereo Pro have two mics in an x/y configuration. The Zoom H1 also has an x/y stereo mic. X/y stereo mics tend to be unpopular in the field because they record too much ambient sound but are more popular in the studio. This whole panic about “no stereo sound” is based off very fundamental misunderstandings of how audio works. It also misses the point, which is should the adapter be feeding its mono signal into two channels, and will it throughput a stereo signal if used with a stereo x/y mic? I have not seen anyone testing the adapter with stereo x/y mics, only monaural shotguns and lavs. It also passes over the question as to whether the issue is down to the adapter, or if it is a consequence of DJI engineering at the port or other camera circuitry.
David Harry tests the ability of the adaptor to record proper stereo here...... ruclips.net/video/j_6IC9yT_jI/видео.html seems it cant.
What was the brand of cage you use ?
It's a generic product from Taobao China but I don't recommend to use that one. I am currently using the original cage with Ulanzi bracket. You may check my other video.

@@360TechBrews thank u
You are welcome!
Is this an ASMR video ? His voice really gives me the tingles lol.
thanks for the like sir and subscribe
girt me osmo sir ❤️
This adapter does not with my mic on my osmo action
Hi, may I know what mic you are using?
It’s a external mic I got off eBay
unfortunately it doesn't work with a normal mic. the wireless one is the only one. And it is too expensive. Can you give us some real sample audios please? With real audio bar test on a timeline intrface? beacause sound bad unfortunately. Anyway thanks for your video! appreciated.
Thanks for watching. The adapter should work with other normal mic using the 3.5mm jack. Let me doing more testing after getting the lavalier mic for my Wireless Go.
Good comparison video. Rode wireless sounds awful. Too much bass sound and no high frequecy sounds. Internal microphone sounds much better. Of course being wireless is a greaty plus but Rode microphones dont sound well. They are not as rich is frequecy range as others. Movo and Boya versions of Video Micro (wired) are much better. Greetings
Thank you for the comparisons of the internal mic and Rode wireless. I did not like the Rode mic sound. It amplified the noise around you. The internal mic actually sounded a little better at times. Keep up the good work on your channel.
Thank you for the comments. I agree that the Wireless Go microphones don’t sound well but they are great in terms of size and flexibility. Hope Rode could improve that in the next version.
@@360TechBrews Try hooking it to a 3.5mm lav mic
Let me try. Which lav mic do you guys recommend?
@@360TechBrews try the saramonic blink 500 then make a comparison video, hehe
I just subscribed you.

@@360TechBrews thanks
Asmr?
please stop the so-called background music while recording voice. It is mindlessly repetitive and annoying. It also makes it more difficult to hear your narration.
Thank you for the suggestion.
