I witnessed Strangeways at The Esplanade in Southend as a support act to Glenn Hughes. A weird experience as most of us were at the bar when the band came on. However they were promoting And The Horse and the music was almost hypnotic and we, as one, walked towards the stage and were mesmerised. After their support slot there was a rush to the their merchandise stall and the album was swept up. When Glenn came on he had some difficulty getting the attention of the audience but eventually won through. I only have the aforementioned album so will invest in the boxset. Many thanks for showcasing this immensely talented band. BTW hope you and Sue are well.
Hi Barrie, thank you for watching. If the fourth album is the only one you have heard you are going to blown away when you hear the others. If they had been pushing Native Sons Glenn Hughes may not have won the crowd over at all. Phil
Concerteza comprarei! É difícil achar esses discos aqui no Brasil, e esse box em CDs já ajuda bastante! Strangewas é show!!! Thank you brother! Di3go Kost3l@... 🤟😎🖤🎵🎸🎹
Mr. Aston. Hope you and your wife are doing well. This is the first time I listen about this band. I Wil take a look, sorry a listen, on those albums. Thank you for your time and your passion on rock. Take care.
Great video Phil. I remember buying their debut album the day it came out after reading a great review in Kerrang! Magazine. I loved it and 'close to the edge' is still one of my favourite songs of all time. However, the follow up 'Native Sons' is without doubt the best British AOR album of all time. I also think 'Walk in the Fire' isn't far behind IMHO. Shame the line up didn't continue on until their reunion in 2010. 👍
Hi Shaun, thank you for watching. I agree 'Native Son's is pone of the greatest AOR / Melodic rock albums of all time. It is a masterpiece and should have really launched them into the big time. Phil
Hi Sjhue, thank you for watching. See if you can stream 'Native Sons' which is the second album. It is a masterpiece and deserved to be heard further afield. Phil
Great review! Thanks for highlighting this great British Melodic Rock band 👍🎸🎸

Phil, great vid! What's the tune you play at the end?
