last saw Dr Feelgood at the Heineken Festival in Sheffield, England in about 1991, they were brilliant, Lee Brilleaux was great to the end. what a sad loss.
Fabulous ..saw this line up of 'Dr Feelgood' in the 80's at The Palace Lido in Douglas which was once the biggest ballroom in Europe, now sadly demolished and relegated to being a car park,as expected the crowd went wild, still have photos of Lee Brilleaux smoking and drinking on stage that night ..🙂
I ,this was pure dead brilliant even twice and where are Slade 😂 just great to see our brilliant past long may the songs continue we know what we love and 70s rule.
I've just been to see dr feelgood and they were amazing. Played this at the end and it was great. shame there was no wilko johnson though. He was the dr feelgood.
Yes, true basically the band revolved round Lee and Wilko until Wilko left either over “technical” difficulties or because the drinking was getting too much for him for which I can hardly blame him. The only concert I saw I was pissed before it even started. So, can’t remember when it was or whether Wilko was in the band but have a vague memory of him doing his famous “duck walk”. But it was a good night.
The guitarist and drummer playing with Lee here are the guys who are still in the band. And the current bassist also played with Lee, though he's not at this show. And Lee said he wanted the band to go on after he passed. So how is the current line-up not Dr Feelgood?
@@stevebowness9435 No denying that. Guy is a killer guitar player! Is he still playing with the version of Dr Feelgood these days? I've watched a few videos of the newer lineup but they seem to lack passion. Drummer barely taps the drums.
Not true at all. Current line up has 3 people who were in the band and made the Brilleuax album - Gordon Russell, Kevin Morris and Phil Mitchell. All in the Get rhythm video and each has been in the band donkeys years, apart from Gordon who returned because Steve Walwyn had to depart for family reasons because of Covid. Some in for 30 years!! Hardly a tribute band. Check the facts.
Hi i dont know how old you are but. the original lineup whom I followed from the start in our hometown Southend/ canvey was lee wilco and sparko noone could ever reproduce their raw energy I knew Phil and Kevin as 16 Yr old who played in my fellas band excellent musicians but never captured the true sound of the original lineup have seen them many times perhaps you should watch feelgood playing at the kursaal Southend or Julian copes brilliant film about original band you may see why. I count them as a tribute band. Now!! @philjames4268
That one telecaster that’s working well tonight. He even does cool little tuning checks at full volume with little pecks on the tonic note. Just makin’ sure.

Lee’s last wish on his death bed was that the band should continue so it has, tribute band or not, they are continuing a very important legacy and hoping to see them in Liverpool in October but will be very much more sober

Much earlier on clubbing around with Wilco Johnson, they were extremely sleazy, greasy with dirty spotty clothing. It wasn’t that they didn’t care, they didn’t even know and had to be told for TV appearances. Not saying or denigrating Lee of course but when people have to tell that kind of thing it has to be pretty bad. I saw them in ‘74 and they actually smelled like they weren’t washing.
Sniffing at musicians before actually listening to them often prevents from unnecessary waste of time. AFAIK, Chaikovsky was smelling the best - give him a try.
The band played for an entire week in Tromsø Norway in the autumn of 1983. I had no option but to visit the club every night.
They probably melted a fair amount of Arctic ice during their week playing in Tromsø.
Of you had to . Goes without saying

RIP Lee
Lee was the greatest frontman ever.
@Gagdetbrother Andy Phil May ??
@Gadgetman and Alex Harvey!
Dont forget Adam Ant
Dr Feelgood... they don't play like that anymore...the best R&B band I've ever seen live!
last saw Dr Feelgood at the Heineken Festival in Sheffield, England in about 1991, they were brilliant, Lee Brilleaux was great to the end. what a sad loss.
Saw the same tour in Paris. It was by way the best concert I've been to. Really miss Lee.
I was at the same festival, I only went to see Feelgod and was not disappointed
Anyone know if Dr Feelgood ever opened for The Stones?
@@JQ127-c4e I don't think so
@@brianhaining7195 That's a shame. That would have been a great show.
Lee Brilleuax ❤
Saw Dr Feelgood, maybe 1978 or 79. Fantastic band, pure energy
What a fantastic frontman he was 😎
love lee ! great singer ! and good harmonicist !
Tasty guitarist. And I love wilco and gyppy
Lee best of the best !! .
Lee pure magic
That telecaster guitar 🎸 sounds so sweet 🧁
Yes in the way that the Les Paul is too heavy for Feelgood
How many bands
Can say they.

One of the best.
Lee was an incredible and outstanding musician
Dr Feelgood perfect tune lyrics music vocals just soooo good perfect captured moment right there wow beautiful video favourite footage 😊💯🌟🥰💗🌹
Most def the best version!!
Saw the Fabulous Thunderbirds many years ago. How great would life have been if these guys shared the gig? The Dr. does make you feel good !!
I saw the Fabulous Thunderbirds in the 100 club! Brilliant! Kim Wilson is some harmonica player
Best eight bar piano break ever!
I think its more of a technical term
I always wondered if the ‘eight bars for piano’ was a dig at Wilko when he left to form the Solid Senders who did have a piano.
Must say I am very impressed with the group. Missed most of the 70's in the U.K.

Any chance you could share any with us? I'd love to see those!
I CLASSIFY THIS AS POST ROCK AND ROLL POP MUSIC. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THIS VIDEO WAS SHOT, BUT THE SINGER IS STILL A WILD BEAST!
Lee always looks like he would sell you a dodgy Ford Fiesta with only 20,000 miles on the clock.
Hahaha, so true!!😂❤
So fine, and the most gloriously done.
LEGENDE
Lee was way beyond cool
See them in Portsmouth many years back good group
I ,this was pure dead brilliant even twice and where are Slade 😂 just great to see our brilliant past long may the songs continue we know what we love and 70s rule.
Not last line up with Lee-Dave Bronze was on bass that time. In video bassplayer is Phil Mitchell
Such good old times..
Beyond Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!
Magic!!!
Vraiment très bon ! 👏👏👏
Great stuff.
I've just been to see dr feelgood and they were amazing. Played this at the end and it was great. shame there was no wilko johnson though. He was the dr feelgood.
Wilko never played this one, it was John Mayo. Know what you mean about Wilko though.
Dr Feel good died when Lee Brilleaux passed. Now it's just a parody. Keep with the memories.
Gypie and this guy here more than hold their own on guitar. Different style than Wilco but they all bring a lot to the table.
Goooooöd!
Mega!❤

Just a shame that both Lee and Wilko are both dead but their spirit and the tradition of great “proper” R and B continues x

Sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, Dr. Feelgood ceased to exist the moment Wilko Johnson left. And thanks Wilko for EVERYTHING and R.I.P.!!!
Lee could sweat through a suit of armour.
Lee puer magit very best
Jeremy Spencer was just so gorgeous, like John North, Legolas and Figwit combined.

Ex DT,s guitarist Steve Walwyn on lead guitar.
Wilko Johnson should have stayed with the Feelgoods.
He was booted out. Clash of personality's with Lee.
As down n' dirty as it gets.

What a crap of critics! Mimimi lee! Do you not see the crowd? What lead singer and power of the band!
Lee was a musical genius, but the original band were as tight as... The Big Figure is a total legend for crisp tightness.

A Dr Feelgood is a regular doctor who prescribes drugs with no questions asked.
