I know that this music is meant to be joyful but this performance is taking it to a new level! The percussion on the cello is totally brilliant! I have loved this music since I first saw it included in the Carlos Saura film "Goya en Burdeos". The full film can be found on the internet but only in its original Spanish. See it if you can. The fandango starts at about 14:20 and is well worth watching.
Anyone know where I can get the sheet music to this? I know this version for 2 cellos is the original (Quintet G. 341), but I cannot find it ANYWHERE. And no its not on IMSLP
I don't know anything about cellos, but I always assume that these ensembles play these old, rare jewels and seeing him banging the cello like that freaked me out (a little). Awesome rendition, though.
Hello! Favor please! I can only find the sheet music to the guitar version of this piece.. Can you suggest who prints the string quintet version? MANY THANKS in advance!
I may be old-fashioned but I do try to take some time in composing my comments and I then use Word to check my grammar and spelling before posting. I now find that RUclips does not allow the pasting of text into a comment field. This means that I have to manually re-type in my comments with the risk that I mis-type and appear to be an idiot. For those of us who take a lot of time in carefully composing our comments and ensuring that they make sense this is a stupid limitation.
Does anyone know where to find the sheet music for this piece, or who publishes it? I've found many editions for the original guitar + string quartet, but none for this cello + string quartet version.
It's too bad Giovanni is not totally in control of his instrument. He spoils what otherwise would have been a magnificent performance. The cello part actually requires absolute perfection.
No few words can summarize Boccherini.
I guess the best boccherini fandango I've ever listened to!!!!
Giovanni Sollima plays energetically castanets player's roll with his cello.
Wonderful artist! . All great musician, vivid play! Thanks for share.
Great performance, but then again: how can you go wrong with this piece? Boccherini, so far ahead of his time: genious!
The absolutely best way to start a morning!
rock and roll from 1798!! I fuckin' love this piece and their interpretation... waw superb!! apassionatta!!
J'adore ! C'est exactement ainsi qu'il faut jouer cette éclatante musique
Brilliant virtuosity. A truely first class ensemble.
I have been listening to this for tha last two days, over and over again... I don't get tired!

Have you find it please?
I remember reading somewhere that Giovanni Sollima arranged this version.
Bozanstveno!!!
This is how to play this!
Originally this piece is written for a quartet and a classic guitar. Narciso Yepes has a great performance of this FANDANGO!
I don't know anything about cellos, but I always assume that these ensembles play these old, rare jewels and seeing him banging the cello like that freaked me out (a little). Awesome rendition, though.
This version is double time from the original, for sure. And it is so much better this way.

+Jimmy Clarke Recheck your connection to RUclips. I just copied and pasted this comment from Word.
Wow
UAU!

@davehshs
maybe it's a guitar?
nice! but where is the classical guitar?
That's my fandango.
Y la guitarra ?? !
Demasiado rápido pero virtuosísimos los intérpretes.
Too fast, But still awesome. perfect note for the starting violins.
Not too fast for SIMONE PAULLI to dance!
no Guitar?!xiiiii...
It's too bad Giovanni is not totally in control of his instrument. He spoils what otherwise would have been a magnificent performance. The cello part actually requires absolute perfection.
I would rather Sollima has the same fervor and energy and miss a few things, than try to be perfect and play really squarely.
I still like the guitar version better
I'm sorry, too fast, so you can never dance a fandango!

Excellent execution. Fake classical music .. can not be compared to Beethoven or Bach..
Amazing!!!
