Saw Carrie this past Sunday, she's amazing! The way she includes her background vocalists and her band was amazing! Even though she's the show, she incorporated everyone! The staging gave me life!!! It was great. She slayed
Carrie doesn't feel like she is the show, she wants her band to stand out too. Her band wants Carrie to be the main focus, that is why they are there. Fans want Carrie to be the show. Carrie is a headliner who doesn't want to act like headliner. But that is Carrie to a tee.
They aired Carrie’s season of Idol here in Aus and I remember watching it and rooting for her! So happy she’s been killing it since!
Since her first audition on Idol I knew she would be a superstar!
Carrie Underwood is just as beautiful today as she was 15 years ago when she auditioned for American Idol. The only difference in that Carrie and today's Carrie is that she shows how very talented she really is and how beautiful she is inside and out. Love Carrie Underwood!

I saw Carrie perform in DC yesterday and she was absolutely phenomenal as she always is. But on top of being a vocal powerhouse, she is so genuine, true, and a good, good person. ❤️ Watching her perform live and connect with her fans is an experience like none other.
She is always such a great person. So down to earth. I think that one of the things that people love about her is that she doesn't know how great she is. Not just as a singer but as a human too, she is someone that people can look up to and want to be like, at least I know that I do. I know that she will probably never see this, but if she does, I would just want her to know how much she inspires me and that she is truly the greatest singer I have ever heard.

I'm a big Colbert fan, but I don't think he's at his best in dealing with Carrie's earnestness and country sequins glitter. She's almost too genuine for TV.
I don't think Colbert seen Carrie in concert. If he had, he wouldn't be surprise by that outfit.
I thought he was masterful!! He was trying to dig into her real feelings back when she was just starting out, and when she didn’t get into it and gave him super-short answers ( talking about connections- and only when pressed - instead of if it was scary... weird or exciting to swoop up off the ground... cool to see houses and cars so tiny...) , he would just quickly move on!! He made it seem smooth when she was giving quick answers, so it was barely noticeable!! I’m an interviewer, and can tell you that although I love Cary, she was not an easy interview ( maybe she was tired) , but Steve finally managed to make it smooth, and even draw her out a little!! Masterful!!!

Carrie is right, they don't.
Like Bot Actually, Dolly wrote it when she separated with her business partner and mentor, Porter Wagoner. She also performed it before Whitney did. She also wrote the song “Jolene” the same day she wrote “I’ll Always Love You”.
@@TiffanyConnor Thank you for that. When I heard that she offered it to Elvis to sing I think I assumed that she wrote it for him to sing. I did know she released it before Whitney (like Willie did before Patsy with "Crazy"... once again, no last names!).
The way I heard it went after that is Elvis wanted to acquire the copyright for the song or else wouldn't record it.
@@AustereQuint Well, I didn't want to discuss the messiness of it, but yeah, Elvis' team was a dick about it and wanted Dolly's "mechanical rights" to the song... Dolly was having none of that, and she still spoke well of him afterward. She's a lady.
Like Bot NO Dolly Parton wrote it for herself and then it didn't make it as big when she sang it on a film or music video or Both and than Whitney Houston sung it and it made a big hit for her.
Elvis wanted it and Dolly turned him down flat.
She looks so attractive here and she knows it. Mann those legs and what a pretty face. Oklahoma must be so proud.
Her husband appeared on "Huckabee" a quasi-political very conservative show on TBN and now she is on Colbert. I think they are just trying to keep it balanced and appeal to both sides of the spectrum. I think she is smart to stay out of politics. If a celebrity has to tell you how to vote, you haven't studied enough on your own.
Her laughter is straight up intoxicating.

I've lived in OK pretty much my whole life (spent time in the military) and Checotah is one of those towns, like a thousand other towns in OK, that you don't really go to unless you're traveling through it to somewhere else. Or unless someone famous opens up a shop there, like Carrie Underwood has lol

There was a invisible, smooth but powerful wall between Colbert and Underwood in this interview, you can feel it.
I love Carrie but don't watch Colbert's Show.. so I had to get Carrie highlife here..You're right on your comment. Colbert is still a jerk and she knows it.
@@andrewwilliamson2827 I do not think it's a matter of bad character. Most likely is the fact they see the world differently. At least they put a little of themselves to keep the show going. By the way I love Colbert and have some sympathy for Underwood even when country music is not my thing.
i felt it too. There were traceable barbs in Colbert's comments somehow. Compared to times when he fawns over guests, here, there was a divide. Curious.

@@DeannaShelton09 Underwood somehow looks very restrained and absent throughout the interview, it looks like she doesn't belong there. On the other hand, Colbert felt forced, which is not characteristic of him. Or, maybe is just me. If you don't get it maybe there is nothing to see.

I agree. The cover art for Cry Pretty isn’t her & honestly it doesn’t do anything for her beauty. It just didn’t seem to jibe with the image people have of her out there. I just wish there had been another way that she could’ve had real tears on the cover on the album instead of the glitter tears she had on the cover of the album.

Yeah I’ve gathered that from a bunch of her interviews. She’s a little reserved but throws in some subtle humor. I feel like I’m similar in that way, so I understand.
albiceleste 16 Agreed. I’m pretty reserved myself so I get why she comes across really awkward in interviews. I kind of get where she’s coming from in a way. I think the subtle humor is to kind of break the ice in her interviews.
I think if Idol kicked Carrie off of Idol because of missing her connection. Idol would have had such a backlash, they would never heard the end of it.

serious She is extremely shy & interviews are just not her thing. If I was her,I would’ve turned down the opportunity to be on there flat. Given that she performed less than 24 hours before that at her concert,that was probably the last thing she wanted to do.
