Yeahhhh! Long Live Rock'n'Roll !
Ummh it’s Funny !! In the 40 years I’ve been a Beatles fan I’ve never listened to the One after 909 version of the early years and just yesterday I heard a 1960 version, faster than this one and more like the Let it be version!!
Its raw Rock n Roll i live it
Guitar work is superb and I love the fact that it has a GarageBand feel to it makes it all the more fun to enjoy
Cool photo of The Beatles with Gene Vincent (at the end) ! Thanks !
Gene the King !!
60 years ago. Like yesterday.
time go fast
Thanks for some great photos I hadnt seen before.
An excellent early Beatles live-performance...! 🕵🏻🎶😃👍🏿👍🏿
This is one of the best Beatles rock'n roll songs which has some "Texas" in it
Definitive raw Rock n Roll music
I was 5 years old then. Didn't know of it. When I heard the Fab were coming to USA things became clear. Everybody was prepared. Such fun times.
Best Beatles song
Amazing, but sad this return to the early years, to the good old times makes me cry. Tears are silent images of pain and I feel myself nostalgic and unable to accept the fact that those times will never return.
Excelente video y maravillosas fotos. Gracias!! Saludos desde Uruguay
Very good
I got a kick out of Paul, during the Get Back documentary realizing for the first time what the song was about.:)
This is Special❗ Thanks💕 🇺🇸
I love this song
When your pants are tight & your hair’s so right gonna be alright. When you make the charts the girls will tear you apart.
ドラマーはピートベストかな、貴重な映像ですね。
Ringo on drums this is Rehearsal at Cavern Club from October 1962
SUPER !! ❤
I love ROCK n ROLL & TWIST recordings......
♡
ありがとうm(_ _)m😿ポールマッカートニー🐱
The Anthology releases has this one on it. Shows how some songs stay around
It’s really interesting that they picked this one for the let it be album
Ánd annoying too, is a boring version which doesn't fit the album at all either way (it Will always be an early Beatles track) just like *dizzy miss Lizzy* right after yesterday, *skipable*
2:24 John is playing a rickenbacker. That is not THE rickenbacker.
Did he own two ?
this is john's first rickenbacker bought in 1961 in a hamburg music store later painted black
@@dr40002
Really ? So that's the one and the same that was played on ed sullivan.
Like the black better . Good choice by John.
@@twomindz79 John after Ed Sullivan show change his old rickenbacker to new model
0:01 there's something about that riff that gives pure 60s rock and roll vibes
Because it was recorded in the 60s
@@esharp3722ye ik but it gives a punk vibe
Oh I get what you’re saying
This must have been when Ringo JUST joined,
This is a great song did they write it baci x
Ringo on drums
Yes
Pete Best was betrayed by John, Paul & George, over petty jealousy of his immense popularity with the fans and the press. And he was betrayed by Ringo, too, who was his good mate for the previous two years. The truth is, Pete was a great drummer! If ya don't believe me, then listen to this guy. Here's what a contemporary drummer of Pete's said when he was asked in an interview what he thought of Pete's drumming: *"He was a genius. You could sit Pete Best on a drum kit and ask him to play for 19 hours and he'd put his head down and do it. He'd drum like a dream with real style and stamina all night long, and that really was The Beatles' sound, forget the guitars. I was amazed when they replaced him. I even thought about learning guitar so he could be the drummer in my band. The Beatles didn't hate Pete Best, but they didn't want to be outshone by their drummer. Ringo was a good drummer but he was more ordinary."* -- Chris Curtis, drummer for The Searchers, a great Liverpool band who scored a 1964 Top 3 Hit in the US charts with their classic, "Love Potion # 9". Chris saw Pete Best play many times in both Hamburg and Liverpool during Pete's two years as The Beatles' drummer.
Umm...this is Ringo. Listen
It's Ringo on drums -- but every picture in this video shows Pete Best. Pretty peculiar.
Also gives you a hint as to why Pete was dropped and it had nothing to do with his drum quality. He was clearly the pretty boy of the band, the darkly brooding James Dean hood -- and they didn't like it.
Don't believe me? If you can find any old magazines from that time period the girls were clearly going for Pete Best over the others. I remember that with clarity. Best's drumming wasn't as poor as everyone was led to believe.
Personality wise I'm glad Ringo joined -- he was a character in the band & they needed that. But he didn't look as threatening as Best.
Personality? How about the fact he is crushing it! Listen up
Great historical piece.
(it's a bit nonsensical, but it rocks)
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
I like it too. If there was a time machine, this would be the first place I would go
It's neat how they screwed up the lyrics. I love it.
in my opinion this version is better than in Let it be Album. Its raw pure Rock' N' Roll I love it
@@dr40002 Agreed
This was on the first album
If this comment is a clever insider joke, I don't get it. The song was recorded on a few very early rehearsal tapes, but was NOT recorded for the Decca audition session, a recording that some have described as being a first full (though never released at the time) album. No official release of the song occurred until the Let It Be album, a version recorded during the early 1969 filming sessions. No version from the era heard in this video was officially released until the Anthology series in the mid 1990's.
Well, it had to be Ringo on drums. There is a video here on RUclips which lets you hear just what a poor drummer Pete Best was. It's painful to listen to. What's funny about this version, and their attempts to do it at EMI in the Spring of 1963, is that they just had not figured out yet that it needed to be done at a considerably faster tempo.
I've never heard a pete best version
@@dr40002 , it's not, the host of the channel is working from the Decca audition tapes. I think he uses Love Me Do as his example.
@@bobtaylor170 In my opinion Pete Best is not that bad. I think they kicked him out by character
@@dr40002 , watch the video, The Obvious Reason Pete Best Was Fired By The Beatles.
@@bobtaylor170 I will
Liked the 'old man' rooftop '69 version better. Real fun rocker
美少年ジョージ よくやった😃✌️ ‼️
909 likes!
Anybody can confirm if the drummer at this point still was Pete Best? because it sound very different to Ringo stile but for me still sounds good.
Эта песня потом спета в фильме 1970 года "Let it Be"
Definitely doesn't have Ringo's "The Beat" to it . Drums sounded muffled. I forget the year Ringo took over drums. I remember when Let It Be album first came out, I thought 909 was an Ad Hoc, Ab Lib concoction they threw together as filler....still like it though. I like the Classic Late 50's Rock-N-Roll sound of this one too! Is one one of my favorites to sing to myself....
And I hope they passes the audition.
Que jovencitos!!
Se ven muy bien de cuero.💕😸
La verdad John si perdió mucho estilo al estar de pareja de su segunda mujer.😲
Rip
The true version
Rooftop version even better
Wonder what became of this band? 😆
Still the Laibach version is the best.
