I liked Strange in that book but felt the monsters were a let down.

I want to read this one. Should I read the mad monk first or does monster men take place first?

Can i include both this and prey in my timeline? And if so, which one is first?

Dan Hensley I have my timeline arranged pre new 52 and new 52 & beyond. That said, I believe this should be in your timeline.
Monster Men occurs early in Batman’s first year; it occurs before Prey. I’d put Year One first, then Shaman, then Monster Men as the first 3 stories.
Prey would be placed in the latter portion of the first year, leading into The Long Halloween.

@@gothamcentral917 thanks for the answer, that will work perfectly. I lost my collection in hurricane harvey and am rebuilding it now in timeline order. I have all my year one stuff now, including this, shaman, prey, etc. But just needed the help with the order so thank you very much! I am now subbed to your channel and you should totally do a pre52 timeline video!

no problem! love the content and how you cover lesser known stories. you should pick up and review Batman: Blink. its in print on amazon at a rather decent price. and while a simple straightforward story, i found it rather interesting and really enjoyed it.
