My girlfriends 14yr old son and myself Did an hours ea worth of these drills today! Aw ya! He just started riding this summer. He only has 5 hrs on his new bike and these drills have catapulted his riding in a short period. Thanks AJ. We're trying to get to tomahawk for a class. Hope to soon
I saw an IG post you did a while back, responding to a guy asking for drills, and you said "Easy. The Four Sets." Just found this video after searching again and it's great to have you expand upon it a bit! I'll definitely be finding a place to make a little turn track to practice these sets every so often. Such a simple drill, but I can definitely see the value!
This is amazing. The narration as you practice the drills is awesome. Thanks for creating this, it really helps and inspires to get out there and practice practice practice! 👍✌️
I cant understand how these guys (lots of MX RUclipsrs) are able to talk so much when they're holding their breath around these tracks! Or is that just me holding my breath?
Good training tips. Wondering if you have thought about possibly filming someone like Jett from close proximity and showing in slow motion how and why he is able to go so fast. Show his body positioning and feet placement and so on. Just a thought. Cheers!
Would love a training video on rear braking. I have a tendency to use all front because I’m so uncomfortable trying to get my foot to my rear pedal. I focus so hard on keeping legs tight to the bike that when it comes time to brake, my feet stay frozen lol.
Great video. The sound quality was excellent, and the Alta allowed you to do live, running commentary in an ordinary voice and we could clearly hear you. Win-win!
1. That's very cool that we can hear you while you ride and the sound quality is great! (thanks rode go mic! haha). 2. The Alta allows it too - so quiet. 3. N2D suspension - we'll get more info about that collab?
Always good to be able to learn from you. Love the shirt too prob one of my favorites I have seen you wear. I am going have to check the site for that shirt. I never buy custom printed shirts since I own a screen printing and promotional product shop. But it's nice to support guys like you especially when they produce good looking graphics like that shirt. Keep up the good work my son and I love watching you.
@@AjCatanzaro can't seem to find anywhere to buy the apparel. Please let me know if I am missing a place to look. I signed up on the moto academy site to let me know when the shop opens.
Great video! How do you grip properly when standing? With toes in and ankles dropped it feels hard to grip bike enough when accelerating, where is most grip pressure coming from?
What was the camera used in the is video? If it was a go pro please let know as that quality is top class . I am going to buy one and want to be sure I’m getting one with a clear enough video quality . Cheers!
You can up it a level standing with one hand off while riding a basic track. I also noticed a few years ago after years of trying to explain the proper body position to riders was this. I was simply riding down my dirt road standing up when I took my left hand off to adjust my goggles, I noticed (especially while rolling the throttle on and off) that the position my body would have to move to when not holding on, is for the most part the correct position. Basically keeping the g forces neutral with body position. Roll the throttle on, head has to move over or in front of the bars. Roll it off and your head must move back. Interestingly enough, I find myself focusing more on technique and proper body position now as a 50-year-old A rider than I did in my pro days.
Good stuff! Do you have any videos on adjusting to a new track? - generally ride on hardpack and went to a real maintained track and it the dirt was pretty squishy and i was like a fish out of water lol
Thanks for great tips and awesome content! One important issue would be, how to train yourself look forward and keep the look there. For me at least super difficult...
Do u do any classes in the Niagara area or in onterio Canada for that matter I’m. A what I would consider a mid level enduro rider but would like to get better at mx I would try the moto academy but I am more of a hands in leaner so…
Albert do you know anyone who had a very weird thing i went riding like a week ago and yesterday i was a lot faster somehow usually i am not good ata corners in the sand but i raced super well and i nalied the corner speed
Hey AJ love your videos. You're a great teacher. Any plans to add off-road specific riding courses? I know a lot of the techniques will transfer but wanted to ask.
Hey AJ, sick vid simple and informative. I'm old school started racing in 1983 and still smashing laps out on my KX250 2006 2stroke. I've changed my riding style less foot as possible and its way better. For a new vid, do one with pro level cornering tips for more advanced A class riders to fine tune there skills. Thanks. Australia Melbourne 🇦🇺🇺🇸👍👌
Thank you! Honestly, I wouldn’t teach even the fastest pro rider in the world to do it any different. I would have Jett Lawrence doing these same exact drills. He would just naturally be going a bit faster than the average person while doing it 😬
I have a similar (45sec) track on your way to tomahawk I made for the kids your welcome to check out. May hire you for private lessons for the boys transition to a 65. I emailed you some questions but haven’t heard back…

that’s actually good because I use too much rear brake sometimes and my rear wheel slides out
You want to use the brakes as least as possible but if you’re not on the gas you’re on the brakes
The alta allows you to focus on your technique without any control inputs
lots of fun!! good video!!
Exactly!

This is a great turn track, Can you do a short video on how you cut in a turn track and maybe how to do a small jump Mini SX track. THanks
Thanks Albert
Friggin Alta is the BEST. No audio issues
Yeah if your a soy boy
Would really like to see your take on hard pack, non rutted sweepers, especially in regards to standing up/position/weighting.
Thank you for the tips. Much appreciated
Cool to see our fork guards!
I was there at your class, love it
Thanks for coming! 👍🏼
Do you come off the front brake before leaning the bike over or do you slightly trail it into the corner?
Use the front brake throughout the corner to regulate the lean angle.
Great video. When you say that your feet are tight, what do you mean? Are you pushing your feet down, inward, or in both directions at the same time?
anybody knows? 🙄

How many more years are we gonna have to wait before the big 7 come out with a competitive electric motocrosser on par with the Alta?

Yeah a video I need

I gotta say.
Prefect lesson
Alta is great
That trucker sleeping in his truck is damn lucky it was an E-bike.
why would you not want to have a leg up when cornering to counter balance?
Because it’s not a counter balance
But in deep ruts or to keep your balance is it ok? Counter balance I used in the wrong way
i wonder how many tracks aj has been to
Haha quite a few, in many different states and countries!
