It's so incredibly frustrating that there's still no XYZ re-orientation option (to re-orientate a model with the Origin 3D indicator) that we can execute upon import. Importing a model and then having to stack in direct edit features just to flip it right-side-up is such a frustrating workflow. Imagine too, if this problem needed to be addressed for hundreds of imported components...

Can't see such an option in Inventor 2021 :/ And to be precise I need to find it for assembly (*.iam). Any help?

assemblies can be placed at any orientation you want during placement with constraints or joints...

@@AutodeskMFG "During placement"... but what if that assembly wasn't correctly oriented at the beginning and needs to be reoriented after joining all parts together?

I would redo the constraints. If you re-orient any part or assembly that is already placed the constrains are more that likely going to need to be redone.

@@AutodeskMFG $$$ Comment. I bring in a derived component that I created as a simplified part out of an assembly and the angle of orientation that came in on some of the components were not clean...meaning the angle was like 21.5 degrees ..so I reconstrained at the assembly level by using planes and the XYZ came in nicely. I was getting planes on angles and it was a mess ...even with trying to use the info in this video which was still a great piece of instruction.
