VERY NICE PRESENTATION. Many RUclips presenters would benefit from tearing a page from your book……concise instructions, good filming, pleasant narration and lastly…….a pleasant soundtrack, one that is devoid of ear-splitting rock music or looped melodies that irritate. And so….I subscribed. You’ve earned it!
It’s nice when I finally see a video and I have all the tools and bits to make something lol. This is also the first video I saw that I didn’t need to mount the drill plate to the table. Nice workaround. Thanks!
I really prefer your tutorial on this to all the fancy stuff out there. From your audience. We don't care if it's pretty, we care mainly if we can actually build it. For many of us coming into your channel we have little to no experience, and we appreciate these realistic scenario builds, rather than guys always show casing incredible work but something that us noobs can not even try and build. Thanks very much in all.
I'm used to larger, corded routers ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.
Neat little tabletop router table. Mine is portable, I set it up on saw horses. I did not want legs on mine since storage space is very limited. I also made a box, with a hole in it, so I could plug in my shop vac hose. The one thing a router is great for and that is making a lot of dust. I enjoyed your video. I may make a table top router table for small jobs. Barry
Man, I've watched plenty of videos and got to yours!! Crate pretty simple build, yet makes you think a little. I noticed no dust shooting out until the table figuring that because you encased the housing where the dust port goes and made a tall gap for the bit enclosure. Great idea! Thanks
Front face of fence shoud be one piece, and also should have a bevel at the bottom for dust to collect so it doesn't throw off your cutting angle. Your T-slots are too far forward, easy for work to catch on them. Not bad for a first try though.
@@donh8223 I’ve never had one issue with this setup, neither has anyone that’s made it. I’d love to see your version, please send a link. Don’t forget to like and subscribe! Cheers!
@@TwoBitWoodworks Fair enough, I was just trying to point out a few things that would improve your table, what you do with the info is up to you. Take care
I like the overall design but the use of the kreg pocket holes was incorrect at ~3 min in. You should avoid driving the screws in toward the outside edge of the receiving board. It should be driven in toward the center of the board, not the edge. Makes for a stronger joint. I understand you didn't want then to show on the outside but not the best solution according to the kreg jig folks. In this case I would use just glue or glue and pin nails or screws. Regards.
Thanks for the feedback. This isn’t a piece of furniture or something that is going to be holding a lot of weight, so I’m not so worried about the structural integrity of my portable router table.
Good project, too bad you used $ 10,000 worth of tools to create it like everyone else. Most of us don’t own a fancy table saw, band saws, drill press. But it’s a good project and you did a great job in the tutorial!
exactly my thoughts! I don't have a band saw, table saw, drill press, brad nailer or even a pocket jig. I do have a trim router though (except a cheap chinese one). But small steps. And i am in a country where this stuff is expensive. Some good clues there though, so thanks for that.
Today, we're gonna build a portable router table, and you can too if you buy my plans. I get that YOU designed it, but give us a heads up. I literally watched you build something which is NOT what I was looking for.

Agreed function rules over looks.
Came here for the router table, now I want the Kreg table more, LOL. Thanks for your time & dedication. Appreciate such a thorough tutorial!

you kept it simple for any DIY and a brilliant design to adopt for various types of routers. Thanks for sharing

lady kenja thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed the build!
I’m starting learning woodwork. And I like to buy one like the one you build how can I buy it from you?
Thanks.
A nice, simple design, project. A suggestion: Add t-slots at the front of the table and fence.
Kam Leo thanks Kam, good idea.
- GOOD job. Thanx 4 sharing.
Absolutely, thanks for watching!!
Professional 🏅👍🏻
Thank you very much
great
Nice shop m8 :))
Thank you!
0:30 Why would you use the miter gauge and fence to make this cut? Isn't that dangerous and a huge no no?
I use the fence to get my dimension then I bump it away from the piece I am cutting. That way it won’t get caught up.

It's would help if you pointed out the measurements..;)
I have plans available with all of the measurements.

Router table design
What router bit did you use to cut the tee track? Great video!
Hey Chad I started using a small 1/4” bit to clear most of the material. Then I switched over to a t-track bit to finish up the channel.
@@TwoBitWoodworks THANKS! Do you have a recommendation for which t track bit to buy?
@@chadcrawford2346 I used one from Grizzly, but you can get them anywhere really. Rockler has a good one and so does Bits Bits Company.

Always better to see a 'human' building something... you know, someone who makes mistakes like we do...
It looks exactly like one on another site.

Please send me a drawing diagram if possible

I used what I have available. But you could easily build this with a circular saw or jig saw and a drill with a large enough bit.

I'm sure RUclips has a hand in this but I got served ads multiple times in this video. So many it became interminable to watch

I prefer to build with Woodprix plans.
