😂🤣. Coen Janssen's portable keyboard is Canadian. It's a commercially available REVO-1 Curveboard made in Montreal by Nu-Motion. He has even taken it crowd surfing , including at the 20th anniversary concert 2 years ago. Refresher: Mark Jansen - guitar and primary harsh vocals, Arien van Weesenbeek on drums, lead guitarist Isaac Delahaye, and bassist Rob van der Loo
2014 was The Quantum Enigma. 2 more albums and some EP's since. The Holographic Principle is the 7th album in 2016. "Code of Life" is on the 2021 8th album, Omega. Yeah, a middle eastern/Egyptian feel. This performance was in Amsterdam 2023 at the AFAS Live concert hall.
You also missed the Omega Alive Virtual concert in 2021. Album #9 is in the works. They have 4 upcoming concerts with full orchestra and choir, 2 in The Netherlands, and 2 in Mexico City. Hopefully at least one of them gets filmed for DVD.
Check out the ballad "Rivers" feat Apocalyptica from this same show. And everything from Omega Alive is worth checking out, try "The Skeleton Key" and the epic 13 1/2 minute "Kingdom of Heaven Part 3".

Best part of Epica is their joy in playing. Clearly, they come across as a family. No egos, just the fun of playing together.
Check out their Retrospect 10th anniversary show from 2013. A 3 hour show with full orchestra and choir. Unleashed is a popular place to start.
Also, you must look at their Omega Alive show from 2021. A livestream during lockdown. The Skeleton Key, Kingdom of Heaven part 3 and Once Upon a Nightmare are probably the highlights.

Funny story, there was an issue with the power (fire alarm because some guy was smoking on the toilet). so emergency lights went on etc. so what happens next: The band does a bit of acoustic jamming and Simone literally started handing out beers. i mean seriously. that's epica
Epica live is really impressive. Heavy and melodic in the same time, very executed transitions and Simone impeccable.
Highly recommend Kingdom of Heaven part 3 from Omega Alive, it’s a masterpiece of genre. Really good composition and production

Kingdom of Heaven, Parts 1 and 3 are both classics of the symphonic/prog/death metal genre that is Epica. They are maybe the best Symphonic metal band in the world. ( and yes, I'm including Nightwish)
Epica is such an amazing band, you should check Once upon a Nightmare (Omega Alive) version, you wont regret 😉🤘🏻

What i loved from epica is the chemistry and stage present. The blocking, enjoying from all band member in every song they played.
Never find that in another band even that is Nightwish.

A song I want to request is a much requested song and because of that not always equally appreciated by fans who would love reactors reacting to other songs. However, there’s a very good reason why so many people want to see reaction videos of Epica’s ‘Consign to Oblivion’, live at the Zenith, Paris (that’s the much preferred version of this song - and again, for good reason).
And when it comes to the perfection of Simone’s voice, the song ‘Rivers’ in the version of Epica together with Apocalyptica, live at the AFAS Live (same venue as the one you just reacted to). This is also very much like a small gift to myself, because every time I see that performance, I feel like falling in love with Simone. Damn, she’s so good in that song! 😍
