I had a similar issue that’s under control now, but I would say, there were a couple things that helped me. I tried to maintain my scalp free of styling products or leave-in conditioning products (to avoid clogged pores) and apply them only half way down my length. I use apple cider vinegar diluted half and half with water, about once or twice a month, to maintain my scalp clear if it gets too oily because it’s a more gentle clarifying product for hair and scalp (I apply it in the shower after shampooing and conditioning and leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse off completely). I don’t wear tight pony tails, or hair styles that tangle my hair too much (I have wavy hair and detangling is worse if I leave my hair wavy). Also a shorter length helps (less weight and less pulling when detangling). Hope it gets better for you.

@@CK_Godoth Many men experience hair loss in some point of their lives due to environmental and/or genetic reasons. Sometimes those reasons don’t affect women in the same way. But overall, certain habits could always help. My husband has been experiencing genetic hair loss for the last few years and weirdly enough a few days ago I discovered a lot of new growth on his head. I made a mix for him of the apple cider vinegar to use in the shower (cause sometimes he would just “wet” his hair without washing properly) and also use more regularly my shampoo and conditioner, probably for about 2-3 months, and perhaps it could be coincidental, but he has new hair growth on bold areas of his head which hasn’t happened for long time. And he just got a haircut and his hairstylist noticed as well. So I think that having a good routine could not hurt. Hope it gets better for you :)
Thanks Abbey, I just had a hip replacement and when I went to brush my hair after washing it I had so much hair come out I was just hysterical. It really depends on the type of person but if you're seeing big chucks falling out every day then maybe you should see a dermatologist or find out if you have a vitamin deficiency
I was told I have chronic TE. I’ve had the issue since 2013. It comes and goes in waves (as TE normally does) and I hate it. It started around the time I began taking accutane.
I had a lions mane in January. Then, after discovering a huge bald spot, I went to the ER and found out I had Graves’ disease started by my covid the year prior. Lost 80% of my hair In 6 months, and it only calmed down after getting an iodine ablation, basically killing my thyroid. Now I’ll have to be on thyroid meds the rest of my life.
I also lost 80% of my hair with two battles of COVID and I also have Graves and hyperthyroidism, celiac, fibromyalgia, and diabetes. I have been battling hair lost for two years straight and I’m not quite winning the battle. It’s disheartening and I just started using DHT blocking shampoo, hair thinning serums and going to invest in low light therapy. Good luck to you!
I have a lot of hairfall! Its been a year since I got hair treatment(keratin). I've been using homeopathic medicines since 24 October and oiling and washing my hair once a week and taking vitamins (i got blood test but it shows i dont have any deficiency but doc said i should still take them). I even tried Indulekha. The only thing left is fixing my sleep schedule. I sleep late and wake up later or sleep late and wake up early or sleep early and wake up early within a week. I don't think it's causing hairloss because before i used to sleep early wake up early with 6 or 4 hrs of sleep and i still had hairloss.During December I jad Winter break and my hairfall reduced a bit and started to be in control. I was so happy. But since this week it got worse again Idk how to fix it anymore. Maybe I should try shaving my head but I'm scared because my hair growns really slowly :( I'm still in school and I'm insecure about my hair :( What do I do?
Normal is about 60-120 hairs per day, so anything above that would be excessive. I worked for a dermatologist and we had patients put daily hair shed in an envelope with the day's date. I then had to count the hairs after the patient collected a month's worth of envelopes. Horrible job, but it told a story. Usually the patient's shedding was within the normal limits.
I had excessive shedding- ended up being from an iron deficiency. I was losing so much hair after showers that I would have to take a napkin and collect a wad of hair. Each shower. After styling I would have to sweep the floor because hair would be covering the floor. I would see long brown hairs everywhere, constantly. If I just ran my fingers through my hair strands would be in my fingers. Now I can run my fingers through my hair and I don’t hair hair fall out. I might have a few strands in my fingers when I’m shampooing/conditioning or in my hairbrush but I don’t have to collect them every time. It more of a when I’m cleaning the shower and when I’m cleaning my brushes thing. I might see a hair here or there on my coat or floor. These things are not normal and you need to go to a Dr asap and get some bloodwork. Thyroid, autoimmune, vitamin, hormone imbalance.

I started reading about it and realized that my surgery probably caused it. My ends seemed so dry, is there anything I can put on the ends? I have started back on my Biotin and my Zinc supplements.
So, just for an accurate comparison.. how much hair do you lose in the shower on wash day?
It really depends on the type of person but if you're seeing big chucks falling out every day then maybe you should see a dermatologist or find out if you have a vitamin deficiency
I was told I have chronic TE. I’ve had the issue since 2013. It comes and goes in waves (as TE normally does) and I hate it. It started around the time I began taking accutane.
The same for me
Wow you are gorgeous
You totally forgot Menopause
I DM’d you on Ig about this issue. I’ll keep combing through (pun intended) your content for more info. Love your channel I’m learning so much! 🤓
But since this week it got worse again
Idk how to fix it anymore. Maybe I should try shaving my head but I'm scared because my hair growns really slowly :(
I'm still in school and I'm insecure about my hair :(
What do I do?
Also I used to have thick hair before puberty. Then I had a bit thin but curly hair at start. Now I have it normal and wavy/curly hair
Having ptsd means I'm fucked basically - the stress is permanent
But what do we consider excessive? I shed all the time but at what point is it worrying?
It's been happening for 3 years and my parents still tell me it's no big deal. I lose way more hair than in the video but since I'm not showing signs of baldness or hair thinning my parents refuse to take me to a doctor☹️.
Is that even okay?
Don't let your scalp dry, use oil daily
My thyroid has been a little off but not on medication yet. I’m shedding way too much imo. I also have scalp psoriasis but that’s under control.
I didn’t know excessive hair loss can cause after weight loss! Thanks!
Can you talk about the positive and negative effects of using castor oil on hair.
I've been losing so much hair for over 2 yrs to the point my front hair line and scalp is so thin
I r had a full blood work up and everything is fine so I believe it's stress. I've noticed within the last mo. My sides of my scalp is so itchy . My hair is growing but falling out. I refuse to go get my hair cut nc the stylist made rude comments about how my hair was all over her and work station and in the sink .my hair is down to my waist. Going to the dermatologist to see if I can get help. In the mean time I've been wearing wigs
So DEPRESSED
After starting the treatment recommend by a doctor, how long until the shedding stops?
I have hypothyroidism and im losing so much hair.
I lost more than 100 hairs too. I have a pile of hair on my counter that i took a pic of for my dr. It was 3 weeks worth of hair.
around a week ago I turned 15, and ever since I turned 13, the hair became to fall out. At age of 14 I was on a diet, I also go though alot of stress.
I lost like 7-8 whole bunches of that amount of hair today. I’m genuinely terrified.
This is happening to me right now,do you have any suggestions on what should I do to prevent it from getting worse?
Iron, vit d, & magnesium are big deficiencies in USA
Is it also true that when you not bathe for few days it also one of the reason your hair is falling off too?
welp i got five of those from that list so it explains a lot
Am 14..and now am terrified
For the iron deficiency (I eat very less, and don’t weight a lot)
Quitting birth control for me caused me to lose huge amounts of hair, and it took about 2 years for that to stop :( now for the past 18 months I have thousands of small growing crinkly hairs of all lengths all over my head. Oh joy
What do you do if you have an autoimmune disease?
I have an auto immune illness and my hair is falling out so intensely. I’ve been experiencing this for around 15 years and it’s gotten really bad again. Does anyone have any tips on what to do…. I just want hair again… I have a rats tail that’s dry and with the current hair loss… I think bald patches might be on the way
Can weight gain be a problem too?
I have Hypothyroidism and also hormonal problems my scalp is thinning and hair falls a lot
I'm 11 with this much shedding every day. It has been happening for about a year. What do I do?
Why “surgery”?
I had surgery a month ago but my hair keeps falling out like it never did before
I’m had weight lose and still losing what can I do to stop it from being so bad ?
I lost so much hair because I have psoriasis but it's growing back now 😊
I barely shed is that normal or should I be concerned?
My hair came out in clumps and it scared me so badly I started crying I was so so scared like just now my grandma was brushing my hair it a big climb of hair came out idk what this is I did brush my hair really REALLY HARD but tight now I could literally pull some of my hair out rn it’s also happening to my eye brows
i dont know why but hair detached from the head feels so gross to look at even tho it’s really the same stuff.
As someone who is deficience by vitamin B I'm also losing my hair 😭
It's a whole list.. loll
I have an autoimmune discord, alopecia areata 🤦🏽♂️😭

I'm surprised I'm not bald because I literally have most things she named😂
And if you live in Australia… WATER😢
Hypothyroidism 😢
Genetics there saved you some time
PCOS. that’s why 😢
But how much is too much
The problem is some doctors are 💩 and just take your money
I had a excessive weight loss,
Because i didn't care about my health and sleeps alot .😢
And I bet weight loss is the thing which can cause a huge deficiency of hair loss take your eye on Healthy proteins and vitamins.😊
Why cry abt hair loss when you can just wear wigs 🤷🏻♀️
Bad advice, listen to your body and avoid all western Medical “treatments” understand what’s causing the stress, eliminate that first, then be patient and do your own protocols, such as micro needling and scalp massages. Period dot, end of story
Dr don't know crap
when multiple apply to me and i’ve been shedding my whole life 🧍🏻♀️
