Diesel smoke depends on the tune. If there is right amount of boost and fuel then you should see 0 smoke. But if the boost is not enough or you turn up the injector too much without upgrading turbo you will see smoke.. If someone tunes this to dump fuel then this can smoke as bad as a alco wdm3 diesel locomotive. Those old locomotives have mechanical governer. When the loco oparator push the throttle it dumps maximum fuel possible by the injector into the cylinder to reach desired engine rpm. And because it dumps fuel as soon as the loco oparator pushes on accelerator the turbo's get no chance to spool and reduce the diesel soot. So for first 20-30 seconds the engine smokes heavily till the turbo makes enough boost to properly combust the fuel or till the enhine reaches desired rpm and governor backs down from adding maximum fuel.
im thinking of getting 335d but i want it to have as close of a sound to a petrol as possible without black smoke coming out cus i think my country doesnt allow it. I know 335d has a great sound especially for a diesel because of its 3000cc, 6 cylinder, twin turbo, but still its too far off from a petrol exhaust. What do u think i should do as a fellow 3 series diesel driver xd
@@Kingpin333 yes . I found a few I wanted a (valve) option to turn it on and off when I want to . but the price was too high unrealistic £700 !! so I changed my mind I don't think its worth it to be honest.
DPF off, Straight piped still not smoke... Definetly BMW is dominating Volkswagen on diesel
neither of those have anything to do with visible smoke if the engine is running correctly.
My BMW 320d with downpipe, smile a little bit, depends the pressure...

buy and make straight pipe, you can buy downpipe with catalytic converter and there should be no black smoke before remapping :D
Simple solution,buy a petrol.
