yet another track that sounds better in-game than in anything for real, ESPECIALLY at that tempo

I've always loved this song, it's so beautifully haunting. It's one of my favorites, and Kuja is one of my favorites characters too, he's such a great villain.💜
I still have a save file on one of my Memory Cards after all these years that I made for the specific purpose of being able to listen to Kuja's theme.
This world is imperfect.
This track gets under your skin.
Still one of my favorite villain themes of all time.
I've listened to The Darkness of Eternity for so long outside of the game that I always expect this one to transition into that. Ha ha.
The Millennium version was released on the Soundtrack PLUS album. It’s on Spotify, but I don’t know where else it’s released.
Amazing theme for a great villain 👌
Mysterious
Cold
Creepy
Sinister
Do you feel goosebumps?
Raise your hands. Who mistook Kuja for a woman at first?
Yup. Right up until someone in game calls him a 'he'.
✋
my man is so fine
It’s him… 😨
Awesome [Video Soundtrack] Kuja's Theme [FINAL FANTASY IX] Video.
0:00 Mystery Man "I find this rain quite pleasant..."
"It feels as though the raindrops are blessing our victory..."
Ah yes, here is finally the "mysterious man" that Garnet mentioned earlier in Lindblum that is so clearly the cause of the Queen's crazy behaviour, Kuja.
Brahne "My only concern now is finding the King of Burmecia."
"We must take care of him once and for all, and prevent these rats from ever rising up again."
"Beatrix, what's taking so long!?"
Beatrix "I don't know, Your Majesty. I've ordered Zorn and Thorn to search the perimeter, but there's been no word so far."
"I will join them and lead the search right away."
Uh, why only Zorn and Thorn? Why not any of the other Alexandrian knights? (Who don't seem to be around here, as I've already complained about earlier) Also, what were Zorn and Thorn doing inside Gizamaluke's Grotto from before, then? The Grotto is quite a distance away from Burmecia.
Why are Zorn and Thorn always given these kind of tasks? First with trying to take back Garnet (which should have been Beatrix's job), and now searching perimeters when they aren't even trained soldiers.
Brahne "Sandy tree house... Surely, you don't mean Cleyra!?"
"It'll be quite difficult if they escaped to Cleyra."
Did none of the Alexandrian foot soldiers outside of Burmecia notice the rat people fleeing there? Or what about you, Brahne, you didn't notice what direction they fled when you came here on your airship?
Beatrix "Cleyra..."
"Unless we can get through that sandstorm, it will be impossible to attack them."
Beatrix is just casually talking about attacking a tree full of innocent people. I'd like to remind all of the readers that the game tries to make Beatrix out to be "morally conflicted" later.
Brahne "Sneaky, little rats!"
"Kuja, what do you think? Surely, with your powers, there must be something you can do."
Kuja "Of course, Your Majesty. I will present you a marvelous display of my power. I am certain that you will be most pleased."
We never see this "display of power".
Kuja "I was wondering if you would gather your troops near Cleyra."
"I'm certain those filthy rats will retaliate in full force, and my black mages may not be enough."
Really? …Because it seems like the Black Mages were doing just fine with solely themselves against Burmecia, which is different from Cleyra just by militancy. Or is this the weak "justification" for why there are no Alexandrian foot soldiers in Burmecia? Because this is some bullshit, they didn't need so many soldiers for the place with actual defences, but they need more soldiers for a simple settlement like Cleyra that has no military?
0:55 Kuja "Blood..." "Hahahaha..." "Excellent, Bahamut!" "Power, mobility... You are truly the best!
What about Alexander, the actual strongest Gaia Eidolon, whom you know about and set this whole plan up to acquire?
Kuja "You even hurt me...a little." "And you, Brahne... Your tragic role in this drama now comes to an end!"
Or how about you don't kill Brahne and let her get all the Alexander jewel pieces for you, like she has been doing for half of the game, and when she gets all four pieces and summons Alexander, THAT is when you choose to backstab her. (Kuja doesn't even take the Alexander jewel pieces that Brahne had, or the ones that Eiko and Garnet had, when all four were right here for the taking) This is part of what I'm going to addressing about Kuja's dumb plan when we get to Alexander.
Kuja "I'm sure you'll enjoy the second act from your soul's hellish prison, since the stage will be your former home!"
Pay attention to the "Soul's hellish prison" part since it's going to tie in to the Invincible later in the game and what I have to say about that and the plot hole of how Brahne's soul even wound up inside it.
Kuja "The final act will take us away from Gaia, and I will kill my nemesis...with my own hand!" "Hahaha! Everything is going according to plan."
First off, sure, just shout that you are going to kill Garland out loud, it's not like he could be watching you to see if you try to pull anything.
Secondly, again with this "Keikaku" bullshit. Kuja is approaching Villain Sue territory.
1:33 Kuja "That blast almost destroyed our ship..." "For a second, I thought I was..." "...Hahahahaha! What am I thinking!" "What can that old fool do to me!? He can't kill me! Nothing can!"
Okay, what makes you think that you can't be killed, Kuja? Did Garland ever give you any indication of that? You also seem to be forgetting that he made you and that he and the Invincible are far stronger than you, isn't that the whole reason you were after Alexander in the first place?
Kuja "...Besides, he's too late. The wheels are already in motion." [He walks off the ship. Black mages follow him] "I won't let him interfere."
Except that he already did when he stopped you from acquiring Alexander and blowing it up. I don't see how Garland was "too late".
[Zorn and Thorn run on screen, and up to Kuja]
How did these two get with Kuja? Last we saw them, they left Alexandria way before Kuja showed up in that same spot and they were nowhere to be seen nearby when Bahamut was attacking, how did they even get the Hilda Garde and know to bring it to Kuja? This comes out of nowhere.
Zorn "What happened?"
Thorn "Terrible injuries, you have suffered."
Kuja "Shut up!" "...If I can't have Alexander, so be it. I'll find another eidolon soon enough."
Okay, Kuja is just delusional at this point. Alexander was the most powerful Gaia Eidolon, which is why Kuja was after it to take on Garland, and it got blow up. What makes Kuja think he can take on Garland with a weaker Eidolon? The only Eidolon that seems to rival Alexander is Ark, which is actually a Terra Eidolon, but Kuja doesn't even go after it or seems aware of it's existence.
This is just padding. (which Disk 3 will be pretty guilty of, we will be seeing a huge example later this chapter)
Not to mention that the whole hunt for Alexander and the Eidolons will be rendered completely pointless once Trance suddenly becomes a plot point.
