    6:48 Many people are afraid to come to Poland due to fear of racism. Yes, we are very homogenous and we will stare (it's our national sport 😉). We are used to Slavic beauty, so when someone looks different, we find him exotic, beautiful and interesting 😁 that's why we will stare and since we don't smile very often, it is perceived differently than intended 😁 Greetings from Poland 😘

    correction - Poland never received even a cent of war reparations from Germany, the money in question was given to communist Russia in favor of Poland, Poland has never seen this money.

      Doesn’t matter. Poland has been receiving billions of euros from the EU, ergo money from German tax payers and now stop crying

      @@afjo972 no one is crying here, just stating the facts. If I wanted to cry, I would write that over 1/3 of the country's economy and infrastructure were destroyed, I would mention that 1/5 of the population - mostly the better educated - was brutally murdered. maybe I would mention that a large part of the activity of both the Germans and the Russians in Poland was to take everything that had any real material value, starting from gold, jewelry, art and ending with porcelain toilets. now do you see the difference between correcting information and crying over something?

    I feel a bit strange about including Poland in the first world. Just 10-15 years ago we had over 20% unemployment, crumbling or non-existent infrastructure, and yet we had been in the EU for 10 years. I think it is worth paying attention to one basic issue: we work hard here in Poland. This is the norm, not some learned reflex.

    não há problema. Há muitos anos que a Polónia é vista como um país do terceiro mundo. não gostamos que falem assim e não nos consideramos da Europa de Leste. estamos geograficamente no centro da Europa.

    • @alh6255
      @alh6255 Год назад

      Você tem um caos conceitual total em sua cabeça. A Polónia nunca foi considerada um país do terceiro mundo (ou seja, o chamado sul global e a Ásia, como dizem hoje). Durante o comunismo, a Polónia foi considerada o chamado país do segundo mundo - a Europa comunista. Por sua vez, a Europa não-comunista, os EUA, a Austrália, etc., ou seja, os chamados O Ocidente foi descrito como um país de primeiro mundo. Há anos, durante a Guerra Fria, ao dividir o mundo, foram levados em consideração critérios como sistemas políticos, nível de educação da população, nível de industrialização, nível de cuidados de saúde (no chamado Segundo Mundo estes níveis eram elevados), bem como a tradição cultural (europeia ou não europeia).
      Foi uma mistura específica. E esta divisão é hoje completamente obsoleta, porque a maior parte do Segundo Mundo (a maioria dos antigos países comunistas na Europa) tornou-se o Primeiro Mundo (o Ocidente), e também houve enormes mudanças no antigo Terceiro Mundo.

    With the naming of children - I know that this law can be seen as too harsh by many nations. But for me as Polish woman its perfectly understandable. Becouse a name of person needs to be respectful one, you cannot name your kid like a whisky brand or like a car brand or smt equaly stupid. Its a person not a car. :D I think that its good for people to understand that person and personality is smt to be respected. Only the psychopatic people or evil people would not think about protection of dignity of another person. I dont know how it is today with many customs and behaviours changed due to our constant exposition to too much politics and too much "social medias" problematic content but when I was kid we were learning much about respect and dignity - even though as a kid we would not be able to understand how much we were learning from our parents and grandparents. Most of us was raised in 3 generations houses. So the old customs and behaviours were transfered easily between grandparents to kids. Songs, fairytales, myths, holiday customs, and manners - esp lots of manners. We were raised on lots of manners. Toward our elders especialy. such as giving up your sit in a bus to elderly person when there is no sits around. For me its spontaniously to stand up in such situation when old granny can not find a sit. Manners are not only smt required from you, it is also a base on which you can require manners from others. Americans dont have manners :D they have their boots on in home and they can sit in your home with their hats on. I think those who created such law about naming of kids think that kids name should not be reason for amuse for other kids - kids can be cruel. There is actual law against derogatory or stupid names for kids. It is written law in our Civil Code. Though when I see people named after Tolkien's heroes like Arwen or Celebrian I wished we would not be as strict with this law here :D

    6:18 no,no,no - there is no need for achieving forced quota of migrants just to be statistically like other countries, it should be completely natural long process; yes to inclusivity but that is 2-way street with integration with values
    1:56 Interesting forced contradiction: universities-religion. Yes, universities became more leftist like everywhere but there is still some hope; tradition of seeking the truth has to be preserved, and theology departments were re-integrated after communist rule

    Germany is the dominant heard/center/base of the EU/Europe (the country with the biggest economy, political impact,. highest population (if one rules Russia out), most cities, most borders to other EU countries), together with its neighbors the most wealthy part of Europe (the eastern ones like Poland, Czech, Slovenia are slowly catching up due to a in reality similar culture). The exact geographical center is under discussion! (sometimes, its Lithuania, sometimes Czech, sometimes Poland, it depends on the measuring). Its also a question of how wide you spread Central Europe. One could say that Germany, Czech, Poland etc. are Central Europe. One could also enlarge that. Historically the Holy Roman Empire/Eastern part of the former Frankish Empire (today Germany and some neighbors in Poland, Czech, Netherlands etc.) could be seen as center (while France is just the western by product of the former Germanic Frankish Empire - apropos: there is a reason why France/Frankreich has the same name as Frankfurt, Franken in Bavaria, Frankenstein, Frank Sinatra, like currencies in Switzerland (Franken) etc.). Apart from that: as a German (but actually more just from my individual point of view) I am glad that the neighbor Poland get more focus.
