Hi dear, thanks for all ur videos. Reset, virginize, immo Virgin, immo off, immo clear all these stufs proceed in immobiliser system and as u told addresses of changing in eeprom is different from an ecu to others and from car mark to other marks. It's simple the processor of ecu looks to VIN or pin or any infos in eeprom knowing exactly where is address for each information it's programmed, it depending of hardware and software version of ecus. We must learn any immobiliser system before attacking it or working on it and always always do backups before changing any thing. Thanks Luis, ur Algerian follower was here :-)

Thank you for the video. I know it's an old video but hope I can get some help. It might be a dumb question but bear with me. I have 2000 Vauxhall Astra G, swapped the 1.4 engine for a 1.6 engine but kept the original engine ECU (well the service center did not me). Is re-programing the ECU a must to fit the new engine? I'm logically convinced it is but they are not. Appreciate the help

So just to make things clear. We don't need an xprog to retrofit same type ecu from one car to another it just takes some regular functions of OpCom? We don't need to do all reading eeprom stuff. Is that correct?

Hi, I did an ecu reset on my Meriva A 1.6 because I always had errors on the carburetion (despite having replaced the lambda probe and manifold pressure probe).
After the reset I had to reprogram the immobilizer.
From after the first ignition the engine runs at 3 (cylinder 2 misfire error) will it be a coincidence that I have melted the coil?

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  2 года назад +2

The reset would not make a difference for your problem...
The reset is for the immobiliser...
I would say it is a coincidence...
Just make sure that the coding is correct, otherwise you have something else causing your issues...

Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge. But I have a question and if you please can you answer it ?
I have Porsche Panamera hybrid 2016 which had an accident and damaged the half of the inverter ( you can separate it to two parts ). I tried to use a second hand one but unfortunately it is immobilized and the car won't run any more. I assembled them together and make it run again. The question is how can I know which EEprom that has the immobilizer inside it and how can I locate it on the board or can I even passed immo. ?
    Thanks in advanced
PS: no one in the whole country here can help even Porsche themselves couldn't make the car alive again but I did it. So I am the only hope for that machine 😅😅

    Great video.
I think more manufacturers should allow for units to be reused, but I guess it opens the gates to thieves stealing units, been able to modify them to later access the vehicle (shaddy workshops) and what nots. Also right to repair is eroded with units that cannot be reset or reused, aside of the profit for new units.
I guess being environmentally friend is at the very bottom.

There was some corrosion and one of the smd's have lost contact with the trace. I would try repair it but it's so tiny I cannot see anything at all. Hi
You can replace with an used one, but you will need to program it...
If you replace all those parts, yes everything should work...
Just remember, mileage will be incorrect, unless you find all those parts from a car with similar mileage, and there is a possibility that some features might not work until coded accordingly to the car... again, unless you get the parts from a car with the exact same options...
      Good luck...
