Me personally, I like the sound of this behs.
Me too. Don't have a problem with it. 💁♂️
If you haven’t played one before they have a very dynamic changeable tone. Much more variety than a j or p bass.
Tis good behs yes.
Do you prefer playing with a pick?
Very very old school…early 70’s sound. Your playing is exceptional, very musical. 👍
I like melodic behs lines myself. They are also fun to play.
actually a 60s behs though
sounds like trying to talk underwater
98.12.28 spotted, that album is insanely good
@@Niki-vi7mc heheheh
Steppin on the beach!
Under where??
Or chocking
Seeing all these Danny Sapko videos with him with his new SG bass is like when that one mate who’s been desparate for a girlfriend finally gets one and all the photos they post are of them with their girlfriend. So happy for you two. :D
😂
Mate that's literally my friends experience the last two months since I picked up bass I honestly don't care about anything else it saved my life 😂
@@WhatwouldRoddyPiperdo that's awesome! What kind of bass did you get?
@@mrbobawesome I started with a cheapy £150 J&D pb and put flats on it I'm doing great my confidence is high so I'm looking at getting a squier rascal (I have arthritis so I'm limited to the short scale & I don't like the inlays on Jackson's or how Ibanez brand them as "Mikro")
@@WhatwouldRoddyPiperdo nothing wrong with a cheap guitar to get going. That's how most of us started out. Squiers have stepped up in quality over the last decade or so, and they often make great mod platforms.
Always a fan of that mudbucker pickup.
Glad somebody likes it
Ew, the mini humbucker sounds way better.
@@LucasJRice The mini sucks! It sounds nasal and thin!
Mudbuckers rule!
Sounds like you’re trying to fart through 14 gauge sheet metal…I blame the SG body the pick up on the neck.
We had a local punk band back in the late 70's, they were called The Stilettos, and their bass player (Campbell Owens) who went on to be Aztec Camera's bassplayer, would play a long scale SG bass with black nylon flat wounds. That THUNK sound is what made up 80% of the band's rhythm section sound, and it was great.
I dig it. Got a 60s-70s garage band feel to it. Plus, I love the look of the SG-style body.
That definitely worked for this song.
But Jack Bruce made all of Cream’s songs the best bass songs ever with the SG bass.
Check your facts. The first album might have been recorded with a Bass VI.
This was an accident to find this so quickly.
It was not an accident to find this so slow.
Great on D and G bit wooly on E and A. Very 70s.
Feel that way about Hofners for the most part too
If you’re Andy Fraser and you’re playing in Free then they sound absolutely perfect.
Took the words right out of my mouth - Andy Fraser was an awesome player and that bass suited him and Free
Beat me to it.
Just posted the same, definitely Andy Frazer.
...Except can a bass that sounds THIS DEAD...actually put out harmonics (like in "All Right Now"?)
Felix Pappalardi- early Mountain.
Along with double P basses and Ricks, the EB-3 is one of my favourite basses
I don't hear anything to hate in the sound of this bass. Thick, but punchy, and good with the backing track.
I've got the Gibson EB-O with the single humbucker neck pickup! According to the serial number, mine is from 1970/1971.
Mine is from 1975 😊
Rock on.
sounded great to me, this was like a mix of The Sweet and The Undertones and other 70s greats
Wow, you nailed that! It was inspired by Sweet's 'Hell Raiser' and Undertones' 'Tearproof'.
@@DannySapkoIf I hadn't already subbed, I would have just because of the Sweet! Love it! 😍💯
I have been a lifelong Gibson fan. But I can remember a friend having a vintage Gibson SG bass just like this one in high school in 1986. It sounded so terrible, that it sound was similar to that of someone packing a sleeping bag over the bass amps speaker. He would blame the amp until a friend of ours had an Aria Pro Bass just like Cliff Burton's. Then, we knew it was the bass, not the amp.
You have to know how to run the gear and the guitar. If you take an SG bass and dime it out 100% of the time, you are going to have problems, and unfortunately, this is exactly what most bassists and guitarists do.
@@BigBri550 I have an SG bass and I agree 100%. It also doesn't sound great with aggresive playing. Danny is just riding that line and making it growl, but too much and it sounds like garbage. If you play it soft and melodic it sounds rich and warm.
@malomodo Exactly👌 and keeping the amp volume high allows a bassist to back off the instrument, pluck less aggressively, and still be heard. It also gives you some headroom if the jams get more intense.
It's how guitar should work, too, but again, most amateur guitarists run dimed-out with no headroom.
Love the sounds of those basses - and the play feel too! There's a gorgeous burp from them when do dig your fingers right in.
I like that tone, and your fills were great!
This is some serious and meaningful playing. Rare thing on amongst RUclipsrs. Thank you.
Love the bite in the tone! Very cool
Danny your style is literally my favourite flavour of bass. Keep on rippin' mate!
EB-3's have been on my BBL (BEHS Bucket List) for a while, this has done nothing to discourage that. :D
Unique tone for specific applications, probably not a good idea for a first bass, but definitely a good addition to a collection for a seasoned player.
I love the sound of it and the playing is absolutely brilliant! Hello from Ireland Danny!
Sounds cool! Smart to have in a behs arsenal.
I love my SG Bass. You can hear the connection to the upright bass far more distinctly than many other electric models.
Sounds great - I’s love it and a bit of “Hellraiser” as well. Double joy.
I also immediately thought of "Hellraiser".
Loved your playing
I feel like I'd dig the character through the right amp or signal chain. Your playing is what's really doing it for me - just perfect, really
Sounds great!
that tone has its purpose it sounds fine
Glad to see you playing
Love it Danny! Very old school punk rock to my ears!
Beautiful!
Love some of the phrases in that behs line!
sounds great
Awesome as always 🤘😎🤙
Sounds incredible, love the style that you played this demo. I believe Mike Watt used to play one of these!
Awesome. Cool tune, too!
Sounds awesome in the mix ❤❤❤❤
It's a sound and tone I quite like, thanks to Jack Bruce and the Krautrock scene of the early 70s. I have a 63 EB-0 I bought in the mid 70s. I worked on hundreds of recordings and tours as a session player/side man for almost 30 years (I still do session work for old friends as I'm quite old myself now!), and the only problem with the sound of the EB-0 (or almost any Gibson bass), is that virtually no-one wanted it. I think I used it about 4 times during that period, 3 of which were on 'new wave' era recordings. Shame, really...but I do get that in the mix it can sound a bit 'farty'.
Farty can work fine ..as long as the player doesn't stink.
Sounds FANTASTIC! 😎
I love the sound of EBO's typ basses. My first bass was a 66 Gibson EBO at 13, think it was 75-76. Still have it. I think The combination of Short Scale and the neck Mudbucker works well.
It works. Good playing.
my first behs was a japanese sekova eb3 copy with a skinny neck and i LOVED it!
i recently sold mine and i miss it too much man, its the best rock overdriven bass sound you can get and the most thump with flatwounds for vintage sound.
That's why im now building a double mudbucker mahogany bass myself
Awesome playing.
this sounds great!
I have one. Been touring with it, and I love it. You can make it better with different pedals and it's easy to play while singing.
Sounds pretty cool, Danny!
Love this sound. So did Jack Bruce and Andy Fraser.❤️
Love the behs and your playing
Love it! 🤘
Love it!
So friggen warm. Love it
I really like how Danny Sapko represents all kinds of music
I love that tone
Love it!!! EB 3 too!
she sounds fantastic ! I have a squier 51 Pbass strung with Labella FS (the black ones) it sounds very close !
Great sounding bass and a great shirt!
Love it. Really has its own style
love it!
Sounds awesome
Yes to this BEHS !
I like it in the mix!
These sound incredible through an old school Acoustic 360 - or two.
Great playing and it sounds good to me.
I loved it
Of course I love it, it's Jack Bruce's bass from Cream beside his VI bass.
Big fan. Just got an Epiphone EB-3 myself, and loving it :)
Grovin' Behs line, cheers Danny
I have always loved the EB's
I love it!
I'd love to travel across the pond and jam with you!!
Same
Nice playing brother. Sounds great!
I might have to buy one. This sound is rad.
It is beautiful 😮
Love it.
I dig it!
I had a Gibson EB 3 years ago. I had rounds on it , sounded great.
That’s awesome
love that bass
Man I really dig your playing style. Wish it was mine :,D
Oh I love it.
LOVE IT! (cannot stop grinnin!)
Epic!❤
I love it!!!!
Jim Lea comes to mind!
I honestly really like the tone, that sounds awesome also what was the backing track underneath it? If it’s an actual song I’m definitely gonna check it out, that sounded really cool
Love it 😀
I LUUUUUV IT!!
love it, real BEHS !
Good to see Danny finally has his dream bass
Love it
Love!!!
One thing that adds to the sound is that you're very comfortable playing it. Sounds OK to me, nice tune, kind of 'fuzzy' like its used to create a full sounding background in a 3-piece band, but here its leading over the rhythm guitar sound.
Cracking!!
That's really cool.
Lovin' that barky tone!
I love this sound
