it is a cruise ship, not an ocean liner. ocean liners are vessels built specifically for trans-oceanic crossings. (the queen mary 2 is the only ocean liner in operation as of 2021)
@@seablueeyes8103 hope not but with all the BS with China and Russia I dont know. I remember my grandfather telling me about leaving New York to go to the UK for the war on the queen Mary.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that too. Traditional shaft props and rudders, but with aft thrusters. Does she need tugs in port? Or are the bow and stern thrusters good enough for no tugs?
No idea what work she had done...looks like a half assed job...she needed a complete docking, bottom clean, propeller shaft clean and refit, A bracket refit, propellers and rudders refitted and checked, bow thrusters cleaned, anchor chains totally de rusted and painted, each shackle painted a different color. Entire bottom paint job. Bilge clean, a boiler clean. That is a lot of work.
This wasn’t the whole time she was dry docked if you looked at where at the scaffolding looks like they were going to do all the things you had mentioned
@@valor3333 I was actually confused as to which ship this was as it was in the Brest, France shipyard. One was the Disney Wonder and the other was the Disney Fantasy. Both side by side in Dry docks. From the keel you can't tell the difference, only from her upper works can you really tell the difference. Fantasy is much bigger then Wonder.

Always a really cool sight as seeing an ocean liner sitting completely out of the water.

@@RightAsRainCreations True and compare this with what QM2 looks like in dry dock, the Queen has a much deeper draught.
@@RightAsRainCreations ...and yet I sailed a "Cruise ship" from Ft. Lauderdale Florida to Southampton, U.K. Crossed the Atlantic.

@Speyer Family True, but Disney tries and make all of their ships kinda have an ocean liner style, I think that's what he means

Thank you
The equipment looks like toys beside this massive ship.
Wow,thanks for sharing this video! Can’t wait to cruise again.
Man up and go sailing or camping. Why cruise with 6000 other people lol
You've never had a real holiday have you?
Like.... Actually escape from the world. Lol. You miserable flogs
I live in Florida. Everyday is a holiday. God Bless.
I wonder how hard would it be to turn the disney magic in to a transport or a hospital ship if ever needed. it might be needed sooner than later
I hope we never find out.

Propellers are quite small for the size of her
Imagine this one blowing up the horn while in here
Wow, so she is getting ready for the next magical voyages! Awesomely exclusive video!!
How long between dry docks for a ship to be repainted ?
It depends on the condition of the paint. This time we repainted the bulbous bow only.
Disney Magic is moored up in Dover currently
Are there types of these ships (like there names for example Olympic class) or is Disney dream and Disney fantasy there actual names
They are the actual names
Oh I wonder if they have an actual horn like one that doesn’t play music (not that I hate there unique horn In fact I really like them) or something
@@micahgotracksplays340 They have normal horns. You would hear normal horns like during a Muster Drill if you were on the deck.
Oh cool
Disney Fantasy is a Dream Class ship
Twin screw with 6 thrusters? Wow. Certainly no lack of maneuverability
5 thrusters
@@seablueeyes8103 ah OK, my bad, 3 bow 2 Stern?
Yes
I hope these vessels return to service soon, A dry dock is not where a ship should be.
I never knew the bottom hull was grey!
It used to be painted blue, but over the 9 years it was in service before dry dock, the paint chipped away / worn off and needed to be repainted
First time hearing that ship on dry dock
She was in a dry dock a few years ago
Are they fixing that dent in the stern from backing into that dock?
That was the Disney Dream 😶
and that was 4 years ago.
I was on the Dream when it collided with port ;-;
And to think i was on this behemoth of a ship.
Looks alot like the queen Mary 2..bout the same size too
This one's a bit smaller. 130000 tons.
Is is an old ship that's being refurbished?
She's not that old. 9 years only.
She’s actually the newest of the four currently, until the Wish is ready.

Wow, didn't know that she still has old-fashioned fixed propellers and rudders.
No Azipods...
Yea I'm sure the Disney Wish will have azipods
Yeah, I was surprised to see that too. Traditional shaft props and rudders, but with aft thrusters. Does she need tugs in port? Or are the bow and stern thrusters good enough for no tugs?
Given how their ships look like the classic ocean liners of old, I guess they decided to go with the old fashioned rips too, lol. I like it.
The Disney wish uses 2 azipods , and 4 bow thrusters.
I would like to sail on it but it doesn’t sail to Texas Ports 😢and I live in Houston , the 4 th largest city in the USA!
