- Sydney Stack was the u18 All-Australian who was not picked up in the 2018 draft. Recruiters from all clubs thought he was too unprofessional and would never make it in an AFL environment. Boy were they wrong. Producing one of the most exciting debut years in recent memory, Sydney has stolen the hearts of Richmond fans and fans of footy in general. With his breathtaking pace, toughness and skill, he seized his chance in the senior team and never looked back. Sydney was rewarded for his hard work and dedication with a new two year contract, locking him away until the end of 2021. Good luck Sydney!

Tough as nails, brave as anyone, amazing composure and supremely skilled. I hope he lives up to his potential
He's also a good sport who understands that it's just a game not life and death. Most memorable moment of the year in my book was when he gave respect to Eddie Betts for a great goal after winding him up all game that there would be "no special goals tonight brother". Even though Richmond was losing he was a big enough man to just say well played, too good. I don't think I've ever seen that during a match from an opposition player, only after the final siren.
True Funk Soul are you sure now because he just punched a guy and got arrested now given two people the sack, broke quarantine laws the AFL needs to stop be given privileges and he’s fighting for his career and for money
Stack is going to be an absolute gun
Hard to know his best position. Can be damaging on the scoreboard, Creative in the middle and poised in the backline as a rebounder and lock down on small forwards
He had so much potential
Sam Walsh will win Rising Star but it should be this man
Stack is the best first year player I’ve ever seen for Richmond his a gun
So you never saw Chris Judd play in 2002?
True Funk Soul i wasent born then
@@truefunksoul8638 judd didn't play for richmond
@@markharrison6498 No shit mate he obviously edited that in because his initial comment was kind of ridiculous stating that Stack was the best first year player he'd ever seen full stop.
@@truefunksoul8638 haha. Didn't see the edit. That'll teach me to be a smartarse. Good call mate in that case
Absolute gun
Reminds me of Chris Yarran at his peak
This is way better than his 2020 highlights reel.
what a gun
Well
Sydney stack is my cousin
Rip
Well…
He was in All Australian contention across half-back, then dimma tried to throw him forward and dropped him? really made no sense. His best footy is clearly a bachar houli type who can mark.
Havealovelyday I think he’s position will eventually be a midfielder than can push forward. Was put in defence for his development. Would like to see Bolton be a permanent midfielder next year!
@@Matt-dg5rm Fuck you called it, Bolton is dynamite in the midfield.
Why was this young gun ever dropped? Perhaps wasn't a favourite of dimwit Hardwick. Sad that he didn't play finals cos he deserved it. One of the best players in the league imo.
Caroline Pereira may have fell victim to his own high standards in the latter part of the year, or he wasn’t hitting his individual KPI’s. Only his first season, will be a long term prospect!
What? He was injured for the finals and on track to possibly return for the grand final but he had a quiet one in the VFL grand final when Pickett effectively took his place with best on ground. Stack was still an emergency for the grand final. He had surgery on his foot before the final home & away game and played 17 games after Round 3 debut so he hardly missed any games before that, he played 17 out of a possible 19. First choice player already, and he's still a teenager until April 2020.
...Or perhaps because of the surgery he had on his foot that ended his season? And that Dimwit you refer to is a two-time premiership coach. You've gone full nuffie
Not sure why the coach gets called a 'dimwit'. In the past 3 yrs he's steered the Tiges to 2 Premierships, a minor premiership and built a roster strong enough to prevail even when several senior players are injured.
Just got de-listed. Lol.
Tik Tok has made this bloke a absolute joke
Joshua Newcombe he’s just having the second year blues. He is still a very talented kid!!
What does Tik Tok have to do with anything regarding his footy skills? Who gives a rats what he does in his spare time on social media.
