I have a few of these books. But the most prized is the Hardcover edition of Memories from Martha's Vineyard with the 1inch piece of the Orca 2 ( resinkable)

The Jaws Log will always be my favorite book about Jaws. One of the best books about the making of a movie ever made.

What I like about these Jaws books is that they don't go over old ground. They tell the story about Jaws from different perspectives and from different people. But I say if your a fan the essential Jaws books are the Novel, The Jaws Log and Memories From Martha's Vineyard and possibley Edith Blake The Making of Jaws, but I feel memories may have surpassed this book so not sure as it's been many years since I've read it.
I recommend the rest as further reading on Jaws, they are all great imo but not necessarily essential. As great looking as Joe Alves book is I found it hard to read as I felt it was poorly written. The pictures are what make it a worthwhile Jaws book.

I read Jaws Log and On Location... and they were both WAY more enjoyable than the novel.

my friend worked on WAR OF THE WORLDS, he was able to get Steven Spielberg to sign my original Edith Blake "Making Of Jaws" paperback, SS signed and wrote "it's all lies!"

The question is: when will they release coffeetable size book (like 'Memories from...') about Jaws 2? I've contacted Titan about this and they seem to consider it.

Thanks for the list of great books.
I went to see the movie when I was a child with my family in 1975. It’s one of my favourite movies and I so pleased to discover your channel

Really good upload. It reminds me that I have wanted to read the Jaws log since I was a kid, about time I got a copy, and to that end, as soon as I hit the comment button on this message, I'm going on Amazon to get a copy. 😃

Great to see your guide Ross, can't always trust "limited" online reviews. "Memories From Martha's Vineyard" definitely THE book to have, closely followed by Carl's "Jaws Log".
That 2020 update "Location", by Edith Blake, is another essential. Contains a added section, towards the rear of the book, of a collection of her own photographs from around the filmset, black & white admittedly, but worth it for their undoubted rarity.
Also, that LIFE mag/book on Jaws contains fantastic images, many in colour.

Thank you for covering this underappreciated aspect of the Jaws legacy. It is always interesting to see how a movie that was an adaptation of a book is readapted into a literary format.

I saw this film in 1975 at the age of 9.5. I was obsessed. I was obsessed with the film, with sharks, and the making of the film. My brother got a copy of the Edith Blake Book and I got The Jaws Log, and I loved them both. I wish I had some of these other books back then, especially your top pick, which I have now. Some of the other ones I haven't heard of. I have #10, and I wasn't crazy about it, but some of the other ones look really cool. The Joe Alves book was something I was searching the bookstores for for years back in 1975 and up, wish I had it back then, but I'll have to pick it up now.....cool video !
